- As a music producer on RUclips there are a few things that grind my gears and this year I've decided I'm no longer going to allow them to dictate the way I make music nor how I share my process. This video is for all of the self-taught musicians and artists out there who have to deal with people that always have something negative to say about them or the songs they make in the studio. It's basically a "music producer reacts to hate comments" video without highlighting the haters. I choose to prioritize my creative vision first and foremost and enjoy the thing that I love the most. Music production can really be toxic when it comes to how others feel about the tools you use especially with the need to upload content on social media to promote that music. People always have something bad to say about your plugin choices, your style of music, the lyrics you write, how your voice sounds, or just you as a person. I just wanted to speak out about this and give a public service announcement to everyone out there who perpetrates this. In 2024, we are running things the way we want to run things and we aren't caring about what people have to say about it because staying true to you, your creative process, your tools, and the way you want to make music is all that matters. If you want to become a full time music producer and turn this into a job, these are some of the things you're going to have to look out for. People talking about your beat making process to your in studio recording, which DAW you choose to use from Ableton to Logic Pro X or FL Studio... take these tips from me. Make what you want the way you want and don't care about the rest.

I am tired of youtubers complaining about what other producers are using and how they do music. All I can say is DO YOU. Your music is amazing, I love your channel, and get as many endorsements as you can. It's crazy that guys complaining about you reviewing products are the same ones that would do the same if they were in your position. It's bs and jealousy. Keep up the good work. peace and blessings.
I'm beyond tired of it as well but it comes with the territory of social media and being in the public eye. People will always have something to say about you or disagree with. This is the human way. We all have our own thoughts and opinions on things which is totally fine. But approaching other people for what works best for them or assuming they are making these decisions merely off of a paycheck is where I have to push back and let people know who I am and what I am about. I am not here to say "don't buy this" or "do buy this". I am here to show what a product, service, or software can do and let the viewer decide if it's right for them or not. It's annoying that most people don't understand this but it Is what it is.
I don't understand why people complain about IAMLXGEND viewing products and there is many channels out there, that people does the same thing and don't get complains. The world is nothing but followers not as much leaders like IAMLXGEND.

Thank you for making this video man I agree with everything you said, I am also a producer I'm very new to the game I've been making music for 5 years and I was very passionate about it, but lately I've been slowly losing my passion because I've been too focused on the rules that I've getting from other producers saying that if I want to be taken seriously as producer I must use certain DAWs and certain plugins, I was making music for other people instead of making music because I love it and that's why I lost my passion. But after watching this video it reminded me of why I started making music so thank you for that man really appreciate it.

I FEEL YOU BRO!! I get people telling me to switch my audio interface because a newer one with slightly better conversion came out. WTF. I think a lot of people just hear other people say shit and repeat it. The end result matters the MOST.
Bruh that’s literally exactly what it is. I know this because 90% of the people who hate on the plugins I use have never personally used them themselves. They just hear 1 person say it sucks and it’s monkey see monkey do, being a parrot and repeating stuff they heard someone else say but not actually having an opinion for themselves from their own experience. @@IAMLXGEND Right! Consumers of music don’t care what plugins or gear you used. lol All they know is if they like the song or not. Rick Rubin makes a good point saying real artists make music for themselves and not the audience. We also can’t make music for other artists or producers. I think a lot of these folks do and say things to impress other producers/artists. They get caught up in the weirdest stuff and never put out music. People who make good music don’t have time to ridicule other people making music. You’ve always had dope content and I’m inspired by your lighting and editing style. Honesty always is necessary and even besides the hate I get, I just want people to know they are safe to be themselves and make the music they want to make in the ways they feel most comfortable doing so. Leading by example is one of the most effective ways to bring this message across. Being vocal about it also.
Bro first of all, you’re an awesome musician and producer. Keep doing what you do to encourage and teach with whatever you use. If you use an old Casio keyboard from the 1990s and get the results you want, use that! It’s about creating good music. Well said, I’m a pro musician, worked in a bunch of studios over the years but I’ve heard youngsters create beats on their phones with online recording programs that sound amazing - musically, sonically etc that stands up to productions created in multi million pound studios. All down to your ear at the end of the day, does it sound good, feel good? Enjoy it and ignore the haters 🙏🎶🎉
EXACTLY. Does it sound good and feel good. You said it best. I couldn't care less how someone got there even if it WAS in a roundabout way or took more steps. In my opinion, as long as you like what you're hearing then that's all that matters. Learning to optimize and becoming more efficient comes with time and practice.

By the way, Is that keylab you main midi and if yes why it over other offerings from NI, Novation, Maudio etc?
Thank you and yes it’s the main midi controller I use for a few reasons:
1. It was given to me by Arturia for a video I did.
2. It has 61 Keys (I have a Novation 49, a Komplete Kontrol M32 + A25. I prefer more keys as I’m a pianist and dont like hitting the octave button.)
3. Only reason I don’t have a Komplete Kontrol 61 is because I already have a Maschine that controls my Maschine software so I’ve never NEEDED that functionality in my keyboard. However, if I was never given the Arturia, I’d have bought the Kontrol 61 or 88 in an instant.

He was originally a Hip-Hop/Rap producer in the mid 80s that producer for acts on Jive/Zomba Recordings before he produced for Keith Sweat, GUY, Al B. Sure!, BlackSTREET, etc. He doesn't even know music theory, but plays with feeling and mnemonic memory of his notes so he doesn' t mess up while he's playing live nor in the studio.
