Portugal is beautiful and charming. I went back in the 80s. It was a bit of culture shock for a teen but I was w my grandparents and totally enjoyed it. I got to see where my grandfather grew up and he enjoyed showing and teaching me about his old country. I returned 25 years later to show my daughter and share her great grandpas country. Unfortunately he had passed away a few years before but grandma and her sister joined us. Many things changed yet stayed the same. There in lies the charms of Portugal. I hope you go and enjoy your trip. I found the people very friendly, down to earth, and practical. Where there is a will there is a way. It is not the money that you earn but what you do with that money. They work to live and enjoy. Not live to work.

Ok, gotta say as a guy I love Amalie - not only is she very pretty, but she is so hilarious, especially how she gives Joen a hard time always. You guys have such great banter between the two of you: "Joen don't be an anarchist please" - that is so funny. Love it.
Nice to meet you both in person. You don’t know but we had lunch with you at Profresco, Peniche. I and my family, we were seated at the table at the back of Joen and Joel. 😄
Are you finally visiting Serra da Estrela? You will be able to see more of it now but it's more beautiful in the winter with the snow. Hope you will visit Viseu soon.

Hey Jen! We have yet to visit Baleal, but we will come back! Obidos really is a magical place, but it heavily relies on the amount of tourists. It was much more authentic this time as it wasn't packed with dozens of tourist buses. That really makes a difference!
Rui Amaro - Olá Rui! Yes, finally... but I don’t think they saw very much. I think their fans (us) need to give them personalized tours... I’m pretty sure they haven’t seen the coast north of Ericeira, except that trip to Peniche and I don’t think they even go to Cabo Carveiro, in Peniche... let alone Baleal.... and we know there are gems all along the coast, and inland. It’s ok... they have time to come back!
george santos - Olá George! It’s too bad, about the festivals... but it will be like that in most places for some time to come, 😕. We will all have to be patient and wait until next year 🤞🏼. I prefer ‘not too crowded, for sure.

Hi Classy Couple - wonderful video. Can't wait for part 2. I went to our local wine store and came across Super Bock so had to buy some. I have to say I wasn't a fan. I prefer dark beer. Which is the one Joel was drinking in the video? The glass said, Super Bock. Growing up in a Cuban home bacalao (Cuban/Spanish pronunciation), was practically a staple. It was prepared with potatoes, onions, peppers, garlic in a tomato sauce. Amalie, I much prefer how you made yours. Very shishi. Enjoy today!

I went to Óbidos and Peniche 7 years ago two great places Portugal will be the first place I visit after the pandemic.

Mastering the drone footages!
We were coming to Obidos {2 nights} then on to Lisbon next Saturday but has been cancelled for the 3rd time due to covid. we will get back one day soon...we hope.
Portugal videos are like a never ending story, and you are doing videos from Portugal since 2017, still missing so many great spots
they only go to places they do not have to pay for - typical broke ass vlogers if some one pays the way. they go and do a video if not they prob stay at home fighting with each other all day
It seems you have a problem with us, Don Panna. Not sure why, but it looks like a case of jealousy. Broke ass vloggers? We have been paying literally everything out of our own pocket the first 350 videos we have made. We have spent hundreds of thousands of euros on this dream of becoming youtubers. Now we are finally reaching a point where good people and companies are willing to work with us. And you know what? That’s a good thing because RUclips is not a good business if you never focus on earning money.

With no doubts, the Western region of Portugal is a very interesting region to explore and see. It's not very far from Lisbon and it's almost other world - very green, with a very mild climate and more humid in Winter and windy in Summer.

Until 5th October 1910 Portugal had a monarchy, no prime ministers nor dictators.
The dictatorship was with Salazar from 1933 to 1974.
Marquês de Pombal was the Portuguese statesman, ruled the empire from 1750 to 1777 under the orders of the King.
He designed Lisbon after the 1755 earthquake but also Setúbal and parts of Algarve. One in Algarve is Vila Real de Santo António, like 20 minutes from Tavira (Spain direction), cool place actually.

Hey guys. I have been a subscriber to your videos for a little over a year now. I started watching after I decided that when I retire, Portugal will be the place for me! Your wonderful videos have motivated me to save my money more quickly so I can get on with my new life in a new place ;) I have already started the immigration process (from the USA) and I plan to make the move sometime during the Summer of 2021!
At first, I want to move into an apartment in the the Lisbon area until I determine the best place for me to establish permanent residency -- that will probably be in the Algarve. So, my question for you is what are the best neighborhoods to move in the Lisbon area? I'm pretty chill and I am not one for the nightlife -- although I don't mind having nightlife activities nearby. I'd like to be able to walk to markets, restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, etc. Oh, I'll be 57 years old when I move there.

If you look closely at the numbers it’s essentially not a problem anymore. Treatment is effective and almost no one dies. I think it’s time we move on with our lives before a lot of people end up in poverty and misery.
