Hey I have been in Alentejo last week :) We were in Evora and castle towns at Spanish border. Marvao and Castelo de Vide where we had nice accommodation. That town is awesome, there is so good wine and tapas and all the narrow streets with flowers :)
It dosen't matter where you go in Portugal ,you always find beautyfull places and people. Portugal Is a wonderful little country that I love very much. By the way, once again another great video.
I love the oeste Alentejo area. I loved that you visited a cork factory. Something I’d like to do. I purchased a few cork items... a backpack, a small purse and a hat... and I’m still using the wallet I bought in 2017, every day. It keep Portugal close to me while I’m not there.
What a bonus. First your Livestream and today this. Thanks, guys. Btw, I am Persian even though I live in the USA and Amalie is hilarious, " I mean Persian rugs go home" that was awesome. I actually agree with you, I like the colors and the designs in Alentejo as well. They have a vibrancy and personality that is fun and brings joy to your eyes. So you have great taste girl. Great Vlog as usual.
Only you two can give a lesson in cork, how it is made, the quality of it and still have me sitting here like " wow, I never knew that, that is so interesting" 😂
As rendeiras de bilro de Vila do Conde aswell and traditional textile in the north we have amazing designs. Anything from carpets to handcraft sculptures like barcelos rooster are really beautiful pieces. See Rosa Ramalho.
Yet another classy vlog portraying Portugal in a different light , the wines are exquisite in Alentejo not to mention the food which is another topic in it self , as they say in Denmark indtil naeste gang, tak for deling.
Hey Joen and Amelie. Lovely vlog today. I really enjoyed the cork factory. Alentejo has been on my list now for a long time. After covid I gotta get there! Take care!!!
This was your best video I saw, for two reasons: the first is that my mother is from Alentejo, 85 years old, and the second is that this video was published on the day I turned 60 ...
you must visit all 4 distritos of Alentejo, Evora, Portalegre, Beja and Setubal! Try some food like soup of Beldroegas, soup of coentros, Poejos soup, vinagrada(cold soup), sericaia cake with ameixa de Elvas, tortas de azeitão, Moscatel wine from Setubal, Pão de Rala cake, azeite, azeitonas, tremoços, Migas, açordas, pão alentejano, queijo de serpa or de azeitão! You must visit the Fabrica de Tapetes de Portalegre! Colour Furniture from Alentejo! etc
Beijinhos casal maravilha 👏🇵🇹
Oh, gosh, I loved seeing the cork production! I have had cork floors installed in my last 2 homes and it is absolutely wonderful! No matter how cold the winter gets. . .cork floors never get cold and they are always so comfortable to walk on. Thanks!
Some day I hope I can move there. It’s without doubt a magical place I can’t quite decide if either the coast or the interior around Monsaraz. I’m from around Porto and although the north is like a brute diamond specially with its people I must say that Alentejo is pure love. I’m not so crazy about the carpets from Alentejo but the mantas alentejanas até gorgeous. I have two at home and they serve as carpets. Enjoy this little gem called Portugal
Love both of you and adore your vlogs. Still hoping to make it to Portugal next Feb, have booked my flight and I am counting down the days. I’m getting fat just watching you eat those delicious meals. All your information will be very useful Obrigata!...........🤗🇨🇦
Great video! 👍👍 I really miss Alentejo. 💔 I love to just go there for a drive, enjoy the scenery, the food, and get lost in those picturesque villages.😍
Very nice feature of Alentejo and I like how you highlight the local goods there. Are you able to provide the name of the rug maker that you visited, they had some beautiful pieces there! Thanks!
You guys chose for the best hotel in Évora: Victoria Stone Hotel 😁😁 I was there in early September and the view from the rooftop pool is speechless... not to mention the food itself ❤️😉 Great video, guys!
Great that you are in my region, my fave restaurant here is "Adro" in Pias, I think because the service is so outstanding. Next year I come to live in your region, be prepared.
Well done video, Joen and Amalie. You should be commissioned by the Portugal Tourist Bureau to make a tourist video for them. ps. Greeting to Joel, the most famous tour guide in PT.
So gorgeous!!!! Love your beautiful videos and passion for good food. Love love your presentation of all the delicious food and wines. Excellent job!😍👏👏

About shortage of cork, What happen it was that some years ago new world producers started complaining about the cork closures introducing TCA in the wine. Then specially Australians (and New Zealand) move on to plastic closures. The problem was that they were "maçaricos" :) AKA NEW (new world and new producers) they had no experience. Because TCA can be introduce in the wine trough several ways other then the cork. When you started to realize that even with plastic closures there were wines with TCA... producers started to come back to cork closures... for several reasons (the cork allows the wine to breath and it's much more environmentally friendly then plastic and it's use promotes the protection of cork oaks forests) Besides in the last 20 years the cork industrie improve the quality so much that is rare to open a bottle with TCA here in Portugal
Guys, nice work. A bit of feedback from a fellow Dane in Portugal: Please consider adding labels/a bit of text. For instance: When you have a section in the video about a town, add the town name on top of the video, so viewers can figure out what you are talking about without having to find the exact point where you mention the town's name. That would be a great improvement.
@Carlos Saraiva the moors were in the Iberian peninsula for a very long time, that's a reason why a lot of thing in Portugal are similar to those in northern African countries.
My husband and I are desperate to travel there. However we're in 🇺🇸 and have been waiting till Portugal reopens. If you have any travel advice for entry options, totally open to it. Thanks Till then we'll continue to enjoy your wonderful videos

I'm pretty sure those "eagles" would be offended if they heard you calling them that. Unless I'm much mistaken, those are vultures, not eagles.
