Buffalo Bills owner paid 350 million for the new stadium and taxpayers paid 1.15 billion sounds fair to me. oh the NFL chipped in 200 million for the total 1.7 billion. Owner Terry Pegula net worth is 7.6 billion So terry got a new stadium for 20% of the total cost . Wish I could pay 20% for a new Truck $10,000 instead of $50,000 would be a sweet deal
That’s BS. Taxpayers paid $850 million with $600 million from New York State and Erie County $250 million. Bills and the NFL contributed $1.25 billion.
And taxpayers are responsible for maintenance and upkeep. The new stadium creates jobs but the owner got a hell of a deal on finances. Overall it's good for the Bills.
Everything looks good on paper. We will see how it melts the snow in 15 years from now after it has broken down and not been maintained properly, just like the original stadium, which is why it needed to be replaced.
The fans and the team consider it a competive advantage... just like the Green Bay frozen tundra... That's why NO ROOF. The biggest issue with snow is not the stadium itself of the roads to the stadium. Mostly when games have been moved/rescheduled have been because the roads to the stadium were impassible... If you can't get to it a roof does you no good anyway.
It “melting” the snow above where the fan sitting isn’t going to wipe away the snow that comes down in the center of the stadium. Which is where the football players play we are still going to continue getting snow football in Buffalo’s new stadium that will never change. And that’s OK. Football was meant to be played in the elements!
I dont think the grass will last unless they are ok with replacing it multiple times a year for one reason. They’re so far north and the stadium is so tall that the sunlight in the colder months wont allow the grass to germinate. That was the issue with Gillette stadium.
A domed stadium would have been much more useful to the local towns. The football team is doing fine financially without taking taxpayer money and then not considering the public.
In theory is the ?….truth is that no engineering can beat weather patterns just takes lack of and more of to beat this over time. Im sure millions will be used to maintain.
First thing that should’ve done is built it more north of Buffalo instead of south. The southern towns like Orchard Park and hamburg get more snow than North Tonawanda or areas in the north. Even closer to Buffalo would’ve been better just at avoiding the amount of snow that they get south.
Great example of how stupid we are with money. What a colossal waste….And YES I AM a Bills fan. Luckily I don’t live in NY anymore so I didn’t contribute to that spending as a taxpayer….but don’t worry….I will be getting the shaft (unwillingly) soon enough when the Titans new digs coming soon in Tennessee.
@ A glass see through retractable roof would extend the best of in stadium fan experience…Disappointing not enough thought was given to a a creative opportunity for 21st century futuristic architecture…Just another expensive Football Stadium! No big deal.
I read taxpayers are on the hook for ~80% of the cost plus upkeep and maintenance. Great deal for the owners. Maybe it’s time to start eating the rich?
Why would you build an open air stadium on the side of one of the Great Lakes? I guess this Billionaire Owner didn't want any off season event income from concerts or other sports and he must enjoy his fan base having to endure freezing temperatures and shitty weather. But hey, he wants the tax payers to foot the build costs and help put money in his pockets. They could have built a stadium with a retractable roof to make game conditions more tolerable during bad weather and then you could keep the roof open during good weather situations. Ford Field will let you rent the stadium when the Lions are on the road and the Bills can't play due to the 6 feet of snow that Buffalo gets in the winter. How the NFL allowed this to happen is beyond me.
Waste, correct, Bills always a looser...they're a cursed team and ppl don't get why..just keep throwing money at the problem till it gets better. It NEVER will lol.
Dome would be better.
Roof … and you don’t have to worry about snow

Do you also do people taxes? you're so good at studying other people's wealth.
Crybaby crybaby crybaby guess what the stadium is coming whether you want it or NOT
Erie county owns the stadium

Well also see how it works when it snows 6+ inches an hour and we get 5 feet in 24 hours.
Dang how you become a long term hater. Just goes to show people will wait for your downfall.
@BTMMHACK Not a fan that the taxpayers have to pay for most of the stadium. That is all. It has nothing to do with being a long term hater.
Unions. The best workers right
To hell with that turf, that stuff is an abomination to everything that is holy
Just make a dome
Natural grass is awesome less injuries 🎉
Is it going to have grass?
Why didn't they just build a dome 🤦🏼♂️
Should have been a fully enclosed domed stadium but that would make too much common sense...

Problem solved 👏🏾👏🏾 thank you no more fans shoving

Green Bay has a natural field. And I believe it is still heated.
@@1packatak but but but green bay has a heated field lol
I think this is about the stadium, not the field. But i could be wrong. Im not. But could be.
@@JapLep read the op. He’s talking about the grass not growing due to the cold.

Domes are hard.
What BRUTAL Blizzards???
How long before they will have leaks ?
I'm from Buffalo, and I want ZERO to do with paying the "Bill" on this one😭
Law suit comin
A domed stadium would have been much more useful to the local towns. The football team is doing fine financially without taking taxpayer money and then not considering the public.
I hear they are just going to replay some of Bidens hot air crap but they are concerned that it might melt all the snow clear to the ski areas
Old school, the Green Bay Packers have had a snow melt system on their field for decades!
Which was not turned on prior to The Ice Bowl in 1967.
It didn’t exist at the time of the ice bowl
Yeah they are not talking about a heated field in this video? They are talking about the heated awning. lol packer fans XD
Yes it did. Lombardi had it installed in either 1966 or 1967. It’s explained in the NFL films doc on The Ice Bowl.
Them icesicles are going to be deadly
No Roof....... Come On Man!!
They would have to get a heated roof to melt the snow or it would likely collapse
Mm the roof only covers 60% of the stadium seats. That leaves 40% of the seats uncovered?? So the 40% will get annihilated?
It's great.....til it breaks.
ALL THIS THANKS TO JOSH ALLEN
They're attempting to take away the charm of Bills football.
Now the fans won't have to dig their way to their seats
So basically there’ll be no snow on the football field during a snowstorm! BOO!!! The beauty of playing in a snowstorm is having snow on the field!
In theory is the ?….truth is that no engineering can beat weather patterns just takes lack of and more of to beat this over time. Im sure millions will be used to maintain.
Just build a dome and be done with it.

That’s too logical, lol.
@michaelalejandro3267 maybe a roof?
@@scarecrow6741 the roof would collapse like the metrodome
@sfgiantsaregoated deep snow is a problem? Do they have massive wearhouses there? Like Amazon? Why does the snow not bother them?
@@scarecrow6741 im just saying domes that they have built in very snowy places have collapsed so its not the best idea
I thought it was a domed stadium
Hope you guys don't do something stupid and see a stadium tax somewhere where you do business at the bottom of the receipt like we do in Detroit.

I'll bet 3/4 of the time the heat system won't work.
Retractable Roof solves a lot of weather problems…

I can answer that question! With taxpayers' money!!!💰💰💰💰💰💰💰
It will melt the same way it always has. Begging people to volunteer to shovel. What a scam this new stadium is.
Finally have snow melting stadium now that there is less and less snowfall these days
What about all the flood water or is it also aquarium built on taxpayers dimes nickels and quarters.
Just play real football in the snow. No guts no glory
Who cares ? Screw the National Felony League !!!
Its gonna be a great stadium, now Bills just need to bring home a superbowl victory.
Ask the kansas City Chiefs if you want to know. Arrowhead has it. It's heated. Once again, the chiefs lead the way.
Yeah, in diabetic fans.
Arrowhead is older than Andy Reid
