Using Plastigage® to check clearances of main bearing and conneting rod

Plastigage® is a calibrated plastic strip which allows us to obtain clearance measurements between two joints. The video shows the procedure to obtain the clearance between the main bearings and the crankshaft, as well as the clearance between the crankshaft connecting rod journal and the connecting rod bearings.
Sometimes it is necessary to grind the crankshaft to correct imperfections caused by wear. For this reason, it is recommended to follow the vehicle maintenance program and thus extend its useful life.

OLÁ. Uma das medidas muito importantes são as horizontais para constatar a existência ou não de "bolsa de óleo" na bronzina. Dependendo do sistema de lubrificação existe ou não a bolsa de óleo. DEFORMAÇÕES DE ALOJAMENTO LEVAM ATÉ 1 DIA PARA OCORREREM MESMO QUE O APERTO DOS PARAFUSOS SEJAM CORRETOS. O assunto é bem mais longo. Abraços
