Poundcake - Sammy Hagar | Live (7/26/24)

I got some criticism in the last video for saying it’s Van Halen performing when it’s not. What I mean is yeah it’s not officially Van Halen performing it but since it’s with Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony it’s pretty close to being Van Halen but yeah I know it’s not technically Van Halen but when it’s a Van Halen song it’s hard not to say it’s Van Halen performing. Besides that the song in this video is “Poundcake” which was the kickoff track to their album “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge” and this is a song that Sammy Hagar sang originally. I was intrigued to get a clip of this song because in the intro Eddie Van Halen put a hair dryer on the pickup of his guitar to make a vroom vroom sound effect so I was curious to see what Joe Satriani would do in this situation and besides that enjoy!

EVH used a Makita 6012hd drill instead of a hair dryer to get that vroom vroom sound effect going. The video for Poundcake shows him sliding it along his guitar at the beginning.
