Lots of decisions, lots of responsibilities, just lots... but I love it, it's a weird relationship, really. I've had quite a month of recipe development and I'm a wreck. This song came up at random and it just hit me in the feels and started tearing up. I've never heard of this song or Santigold for that matter. Lyrics:
“Don't look ahead, there's stormy weather
Another roadblock in our way
But if we go, we go together
Our hands are tied here if we stay
Oh, we said our dreams will carry us
And if they don't fly we will run
Now we push right past to find out
Oh, how to win what they all lost
Oh ah, oh ah
We know now we want more
Oh ah, oh ah
A life worth fighting for
Oh ah, oh ah
We know that we want more
Oh ah, oh ah
A life worth fighting for
So let them say we can't do better
Lay out the rules that we can't break
They wanna sit and watch it wither
Their legacy's too hard to take
Oh, we said our dreams will carry us
And if they don't fly we will run
Now we push right past to find out
Oh, how to win what they all lost
Oh ah, oh ah
We know now we want more
Oh ah, oh ah
A life worth fighting for
Oh ah, oh ah
We know that we want more
Oh ah, oh ah
A life worth fighting for
In their heads, hedging their bets
In their eyes it shows
When the beacon breaks, what then?
You ask and they don't know
Oh tell me that
I turn my back well the odds all stand beneath me
And they all said I was misled
But now the odds all stand beneath me
Oh ah, oh ah
They're frozen to the core
Oh ah, oh ah
A life worth fighting for
Oh, we said our dreams will carry us
And if they don't fly we will run
Now we push right past to find out
Oh, how to win what they all lost
Oh ah, oh ah
We know now we want more
Oh ah, oh ah
A life worth fighting for
Oh ah, oh ah
We know that we want more
Oh ah, oh ah
A life worth fighting for
We hear them run, but don't hear what you say
Now here we come, can't throw nothing in our way
We hear them run, but don't hear what you say
Now here we come, can't throw nothing in our way”
Should be:
"We know now we want more,
A life worth fighting for"

One of the dopest beats in the last 10 years.
This song always used to come on while I played this basketball game as a kid. I never forgot it, one of the best songs I’ve ever heard in a video game and it so happened to be in a 2k basketball game, i never realized then but I was having the time of my life while listening to this banger. I can’t and won’t ever forget the feeling this song gave me when I played that game when I was younger
So underrated and overlooked. Lyrically this song sings to my soul. Its one of few songs that make me so happy yet somber at the same time. This is art. This is expression. 🙌💕
Such a natural beauty
She reminds me of my Gorgeous Kenyan wife 😊
Omg just discovered this!!!! Blows my mind. You know when you feel something when you hear an amazing song?!
I am a 49 year old Native American, and I vibe with you on this one here!
I just randomly remembered this Song existed. Pure bliss, hella bop.
2024 still bumpin
I constantly search out of my comfort zone for musicians that I like to listen to. So I randomly come across this song, loved it immediately, and decided to listen to more Santigold. I have not been disappointed.
This is a masterclass of songwriting honestly. The lyrics are so solid and they relate to so many people in so many facets of life.
For some reason this song brings back memories. I just don't know which memories. It's THAT kind of song. It makes me feel nostalgic
right, I'm sitting here contemplating my life while listening to this song,
+Sadiq Araye I thought it was just me this is that feel good music

"Oh they said our dreams will carry us
And if they don't fly, we will run"
Miss you so much Jeremiah James❤❤❤
I cannot get over how beautiful this is, it's GOLD. Timeless, gorgeous, so elegant.
I only discovered this song a few days ago and it makes me sober high like no other song ever
One of my favourite go to tracks, very meaningful
Life’s short and it is ‘worth fighting for’............never give up beautiful people
Love & peace
ive been a fan of Santigold for a long time, but to see the face that goes with the voice. She is so beautiful
NBA 2k16 was literally perfect. The soundtrack, the gameplay, the community, etc.
They should've kept the feature of the throwback beats
Joe Burreaux agreed!!!
It still is! I play it all the time! They lost me at 2k17.
Man I wish I could go back to 2k16 park and play there. Was perfect indeed
Fucking Joe Burrow

All these years later and this still gives me chills.

A song that found me when I was about 15, when I was the weird kid not listening to the mainstream stuff. I’m 23 now and I believe this sort of music helped me think and become the person I am today
16 and true
@@aidinlayne you are on the right path musically

Omg same. I was about 13 when this song came out and I was developing a whole new personality, getting into indie tumblr stuff etc., being the weird kid in the first year of HS. This song and Grimes' Genesis (both from 2012) probably had a huge impact on my life
@@goeko2000 I'm 53 and I've loved every minute of her music also... Grimes Genesis is a perfect tune
Its only 1 Santigold. If you know then you know. If not your loss. These type of artist come once in a life time. Thats why appreciate all artist that put their heart into this music.
She flys under the radar, this song is so under appreciated. I love it so much ❤🥰
Still here, still looping. Santi really outdid herself with this one!
FACTS
My #1 Santigold favourite. One of the best, most unique songs I've ever heard (of this genre).
It's a pretty badass song, but I wouldn't call it unique. Go listen to Making Plans for Nigel by XTC.
Try "Before the Fire"
I agree.
If this is one of the most unique songs you have heard then you have listened to pretty boring music.
K.H. Unique to her don't be a butthead
This was once one of mine and My girlfriend’s Favorite songs . We used to sing it together. We have since broken up , but Every once in a while I’ll listen to this Song AS it has become MORE RELEVANT NOW then it Was BACK THEN given the Lyrics.
And when I hear it I often Want To reach out to her send this Song to her , but that’ll be too much . I’ll just keep it to myself & keep that can of worms closed . It’s been a While but I do still miss her from time to time .
You’ll get through it bro keep jamming out💯
I will always be here for this song and Santigold cuz I need the reminder that black women are beautifully creative and deeper than a two cent wap😾✌
So happy to be alive and well hearing this in 2021. This song is very spiritual to me, it has a high frequency to it.
Listening to this legendary song even in 2021.
Love this song. I have no idea where I first heard it or why, it's totally not the sort of music I normally listen to, but it's fabulous ❤️
I honestly think this song should be in a movie
isabelisaloser it's on Vampire Diaries
Like in a good movie

Santigold's music is everywhere. She is a very creative, innovative, talented young woman. I'm so happy for her success.
Ahhhh 2012... How I miss you.
