This place is actually called 'De Richy'. Link in description.. I Liked the place, but the price could be a bit lower. I would say they would do a better deal for longer contracts.
Chinese screaming all day would put me off,i like quiet....but its a no from me...
They was very loud 🤣🤣
Thanks for the look Wayne, perspectives like this are valuable for those of us contemplating our escape. I like the mid-sized unit and if it were a $100/mo less I think it wold be a deal.
It's a nice place, has everything you would need. It could be a little cheaper. 10 and 15k would be better. Thanks mate.
Hang Dong? An outrageous name! The neighborhood should be at least R-rated.
🤣🤣 I think it beats Bangkok, right 👍👍
@@WalkAboutWayne Definitely close 😁
Surely there's an adjacent neighborhood called Hung Low...
Two-shay 😂- somethingsomething? Is that a Family Guy Star Wars episode reference?
@@larryellington3543If it’s “Low,” it would be “Swing Low”
Beautyful but Loud people is a no 😅
Yes, they was very loud 🤣
20k for that? In hang dong? No Thanks. Maybe $15k per mo. max. You're in a giant rice paddy field in the middle of nowhere and if you enjoy breathing you can't even live there for 3 months out of the year. The market has definitely changed in the last few years.
Yes, it was a bit steep, for sure. Not the middle of nowhere though 🤣.
There were some loud Chinese at the 2nd unit. I’ve been to Chiang Mai 30 times since 2005. When ASEAN happened and droves of Chinese began traveling there, Thais were very vocal about their disdain for their new tourist group.
🤣🤣 Yes, they can be abit noisy.
Hey man, nice video! place is really nice bur for 15k-20k but they should provide a nicer tv, just my opinion. He did say they would clean ur place once a week and the fact that they allow month to month is enticing.
I must admit, I didn't even see the TV. Yes, harder to find month to month these days.
Rub-a-dub, three maids in a tub, and who do you think were there? The butcher, the baker & the candlestick maker, and all of them gone to the fair🤣
He's still here all week 🤣
Im staying in Nimman. Its pretty cool.
Nice, first place I ever lived in Chiang Mai, was Nimman 👍
15,000 baht a month is the equivalent of 500 baht a day and you'd be pushing it to get hotel accommodation for anything close to that. The equivalent of Ozzie $20.00 a day pretty good I reckon and the amenities top notch. Well done Wayne. Cheers buddy. 🤩
Yes mate, still a great deal for what you get, especially compared to the west. I think monthly could be cheaper, but I'm sure it would be for a longer contract. It's a really nice place with everything you would need. Thanks mate.
@@WalkAboutWayne I live 5 minutes away
@@mollerdk2000 If you don't mind me asking, is your rent fairly close to the 15,000 and 20,000 baht prices of this place? What I think you pay for at De Richy is everything else, that pool was one of the biggest pools I've ever seen, it looks amazing, even if there was not a soul to be seen enjoying themselves out there (minus the two small children)
That's because you're thinking with your foreign brain. You are exactly the type of person they are looking for. If you know anything about Thailand and that area you would know that is definitely overpriced.
Good price considering you also get it cleaned once a week too, by the sounds of it!
FYI - I’m now in Chiang Mai, Wayne! I found a place which is 15,000 if rented for one month but two or more months, it’s only 4,400 per month!!! So, I’ve opted for that - I’m quids in even if I leave earlier… ;)
Maybe see you up here in CM. J
Yes, not the worst deal in the world 👍. Cool, 4,400 not a bad deal on a room for that amount of time. Hope to see you around buddy 👍
Nice first time short term let when ur just touching down. 😂 Maybe a little negotiation for longer let's.
For sure, it's a great place to stay. Yes, it would be cheaper long stay.
Continuous planes flying overhead, not good for my peace and quiet. 😅
Yes, it was close.
If it was by the beach I’m sold. Has everything you need.
Yes, it was a nice place and had everything.
Great for someone who's on holiday for a month..works out about 500 bath a night..much cheaper than a hotel
That's right, still great for everything you get here.
Being in the flight path should make it less expensive. It's too far away from the old town for me to spend that much there, although the rooms are pretty and I love the gym and pool.
Yes, it could be cheaper. It's a really nice place and would be great around 10k.
This place, but closer to the old city would be better for same price with same facilities 🤔
hi, you're in mine at my neighbor's house, we often eat delicious food there
Nice 👍. I could have popped in for a cuppa tea 🤣
Glad I watched until the end to discover the property is in the direct flight path of CNX airport. If I did stay there, I would certainly hold out for a pool view room instead of a parking lot view.
You could say that about most of the city .... it's actually not a big deal IMO. It seems like a thing for 2-3 days ... and you don't notice it again after that.
I love that pool. Don't let Luceal hear you call her Black Beauty, you'll hurt her feelings, I think you miss your ex bike
The amount of times I still say Black Beauty 🤣. Yeah I do miss her, don't know why I sold her really.
I'm stealing your slang...this is a Bobby Dazzler mate!!
LOve it. Thanks Wayne
🤣 Stealing my lyrics 🤣 It was a nice place, it's got everything you would need. Thanks man.
I'm impressed, and I sincerely appreciate you doing this video, I guess I could get used to airplanes, really need to get over to Chiang Mai and consider if I want to live there.
I don't think the planes would be a really big deal. It's a nice place and great area of Chiang Mai.
A bit more than I need, but nice place. I would like somewhere more walkable, though.
Yes, this place would be a bit to far out for walking.
Skies still look good. I’ll have to fly up with the gf for a few days before the end of the month and do the tourist bit.
Yes, the air is good here at the minute. Not sure for how long though.🤞
20 k for a month is robbery sorry Wayne mate 10 k I think it would be a good price it 12 or isn’t to bad
Yep, around 10 would be a good price 👍 No need to be sorry 🤣
How much for condo with ocean view? highrise? thanx
How longs a piece of string? You can find many different price sea view condos . All depends on location, size etc
And another great vlog . ..ive a question on bank account stuf.
Thanks! What would you like to know about Bank Accounts?
Because it is a monthly it is worth the price...Monthy stays are hard to find
Yes, it's getting harder and harder to find short term contracts now.
But 15 000 could be 10 k or 12 per month
Yes, you could probably get it down more after hight season.
Actually wild seeing these prices and then seeing the knowledgeable comment section saying the prices are too high.
Just interesting to see how cheap Chiang Mai can be
The flight path is not good, but the property looks good.
Yes, the planes are not ideal, but it's a really nice place.
'Meeting someone for a coffee', is that what they call it now? 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Wow ! I like the Swimming POOL, Wayne. *_*
This place had a great pool and fitness.
Expensive place but very nice.
Yes, a bit expensive but great location and area.
how much did fitness cost per day
He didn't say the price for the outside public.
Can you make a video on how to find a job in thailand for foreigners
Maybe in the future 👍
Not an easy task, and I'm not talking about making the video.
How do you cope with the mosquito bites wayne ?? Cheers
Rarely do I get any Peter. I do avoid certain places though, where I know mozzies are about. The local 7/11 spray is popular with the locals also.
@WalkAboutWayne cheers , yeah I used that jungle stuff from 7/11 ... still got a few ..
... maybe when you live there they leave you alone 😄
Bathub is the best deal
That bath did look good. 👍
Perhaps good for short term, (20k room) but for that same price you can get an equivalent room on an island on a 6 month lease, so think about that.
Or better, a full sized house 👍
Would totally stay here ❤😊
It's a nice place 👍
Have a nice day 😊
Thanks 🙏
Nice one, Wayne.
Interesting building but that price... no discount for 12 months?
Mate not many people know this but I'm fluent in Mandarin Chinese. I've translated that couples passionate discussion for you.
Man: Why are you always watching Walk about Wayne?
Woman: I find his content informative and entertaining.
Man: You watch him several hours every day! It’s like you like his arsh more than mine.
Woman: I admit it the bubbly jubbly is addictive.
Man: You even said his name last night in bed!
Woman: Take it easy man, take it easy.
What are the odds of being outside for that mate? 😉
They would discount for long term mate. Hahaha the Chinese couple was funny, they're so loud man. Nice one Jefe.
20k for a glorified hotel room in Hang Dong is daylight robbery!
I must admit I was surprised. It's a nice place for around 10k.
@@WalkAboutWayne Perhaps it may be a little steep but try getting that square footage in the Philippines. Also there is a weekly maid service. No lease and perhaps if you bartered you could get it cheaper with a promise of a longer stay. Amenities included sounds good to me. Thanks for sharing Wayne!
@@k9companion231 100% you could get it cheaper longterm. 👍
Sad that a mans life should amount to a tiny bare room in a faraway foreign land. Place reeks of loneliness and despair.
🤣🤣🤣 book that ticket buddy Stop.being in denial, your watching a Thailand vlog for a reason 👍
Meh, you can find a commensurate level of loneliness and despair in your hometown. I do agree with you that, while beautiful, it lacks any real sense of charm.
@@WalkAboutWayne Thanks. Came to Thailand to live better not cheaper.
Good for you, good for you 👏. I moved for both 👍 Like thousands of others 👍
