I liked the concept of the bigger room having a seperate section as a living room, but not sure on the extra 4,500 markup just for that. And im with you Wayne, the separate shower is a MUST for me. Ive stayed at hotels in Thailand without the screen and getting the entire washroom floor wet just drives me up the wall.
Those are really nice! I think I’d take one if I were there. At first I thought the bigger apartment wasn’t worth the extra baht but I like having a separate living room so was sold on it by the time you finished. Really enjoyed the Pai vlogs. Looking forward to your next travels!
Both great rooms, but the smaller one was the deal. The bigger room was the one i would love, if it was a couple thousand cheaper. Thanks for watching the Pai vlogs Earl. Will be another mini series, somewhere else coming soon. 👍
I like that area Wayne. Not too far out of the centre, and reasonably quiet, and the canal novelty will die down a bit in time. Great find, and as you said, Wi-Fi not a deal breaker. Probably get 500 baht off that price for a 1 year contract.
Enjoyed watching the Pai trip Wayne thanks for sharing that great little marathon with us. Pai is now definitely on my bucket list. And as mentioned before now you have loosewheel you can get out to other interesting places like that. Not too sure about riding her to Chiang Rai though. That would depend on just how much torture you are prepared to put the arse through. A bigger bike with a built in armchair maybe? These condo tours are sure to be a hit with those looking for somewhere to stay long term including yours truly in the not too distant future. This modern one is what i will be looking for and at least it has a gym this time compared to the wasted space on the rooftop across the road. 7,500baht for 32 sq/m is quite good but i thought 12,000 was a little steep for the bigger one. Nice and very informative non the less and thanks for sharing. Staying strapped in for more amazing adventure yet to come. 👍
Nice one Stuart, i had a great time in Pai and enjoyed doing that series. I will be doing more soon. Chiang Rai on Lucille is fine, not to far with a couple stop off's. Hope the vlogs can help. Yes, i agree, that rooftop would have made a great gym. Thanks Stuart.
Thanks as always, Wayne. Your nice, easy style is always enjoyable. I've seen several of your condo tours, and I am always surprised there is no cooktop/stove. Not even a one or two burner. Is it common to not have a cooktop? They only have sinks and maybe a microwave it seems.
Thanks Randy! It's very common not having a stove in the budget rooms. I agree with you, it would be nice to see a cooker in the rooms. You will see them in the more expensive rooms though. Thanks.
I Live in Ping Plus with my girlfriend when I'm in Thailand(currently back in Canada till Jan 1st) My girlfriend works for the government doing taxation, and she told me that when there are banana trees planted spaced apart like that its so the land owner doesn't have to pay tax on that vacant lot😉
Cool Wayne, I love Kasey (Vegetable Police), so many good videos from there, we used to have frequent exchanges about health and our similar conditions. I would think that more places would offer hard and soft mattresses options.
@@WalkAboutWayne Having Mattress options I think would be a good marketing feature. I Seem to recall Kasey mentioning some barking dogs, at some homes below his condo, maybe in the area on the way to the Canal. I also seem to recall him complaining about the heat on the sunny side, but remember the stunning sunsets from the roof he used to vlog with.
Looks pretty good - and set back from the road so less traffic noise. Being down by the canal walk is a bonus. Although I'd need something bigger just to fit the records in :)
Talking about the WiFi. My daughter was teaching in Bangkok and her apartment didn't have free WiFi, but she found she could use her phones hotspot to stream films on her smart TV, no problem. Her monthly phone bill was about £12 for unlimited calls, text and data! No point to pay for WiFi as well!
Hi Gavin, yes i do the same with unlimited AIS phone data. It depends on how fast you need the internet though. For daily internet stuff it's fine. It ruins the phones battery also, but you can get by on Hotspot for sure mate.
The small $215 was a real deal - but I hated the kitchen area. All else was terrific. -- Good location & noticed both coffee & a car rental near the canal. -- Keep your eyes open !
The kitchen was awful. Even if you just cook periodically there's no where to put a hot plate or a coffee pot or kettle or to prepare food. The one bedroom was nice.
Are there any pools near by to pay to swim. The salt water pool and garden was a quiet retreat but with old style furniture. These new modern furnished rooms would be more fun to have friends over for dinner. Another... Great find Wayne.
You could find a pool in Chang Klan maybe, it's not to far away. A few subscribers have booked the salt water place. This place was more modern though, i agree.
Good value apartments in CM every angle . Just seen a video on a room for 80usd p/m - 3000 baht in Pattaya - not my area of choice - but it’s all great for the long termer - Thanks Wayne 🏴
The rent for the studio apartment ( £175 ) is cheaper than a months council tax in the UK and this will be going up big time, next April. Thanks for the condo review.
Council tax will go up 5%,hardly 'big time'. The average UK concil tax will rise to £1,493 in 2023.That's considerably less than £175 per month you claim to be the monthly UK council tax rate. I get that property is dirt cheap to rent in Thailand but try not to be so hyperbolic in your statements regardy UK prices.
In most cases, one should check the wattage on the hot-water heaters. The minimum for Chiang Mai is 6000 watts. But, I would not shower in the cold season with any less than 8000 watts.
Also, you need to check the AC for efficiency rating. If the AC has an EER/SEER of about 23, then it's OK. The problem is that many or most ACs have an EER of about 12. So this means, you will be paying DOUBLE for the amount of cooling you get. Then, if they charge you 9 Baht per kWh, this becomes a huge ripoff. The power cost should be no more than 6 Bhat per hour. And the EEER needs to be 23. Otherwise, you are getting soaked. (Government rate for power is good. Also, it is now the law, in fact.) The new Daikin ACs might be high efficiency, too.
Wayne I would stay in the studio room 7.500 a good price Wayne I could stay there even if I done 6 months per year some people pay the rent still £175 per month is good mate if I retires I would love it there canal is a bonus it’s the best one you have done Wayne ping plus is good
