- Exploring Chiang Mai Condos! Join me today as I check out two fantastic rental options in the charming Wat Ket/Nong Hoi area, just south of the old city! We kick things off with a revisit to a classic room rental spot that stole hearts a year ago. After a stroll around, we dive into the exciting details of two condos up for rent in this vibrant part of Chiang Mai.
We take a leisurely walk around the neighborhood and explore the local vibes. Along the way, we stumble upon two tempting condo rentals. One of them, I must admit, got me seriously considering a move.

That is a great spot, great value Seme Place!! Good find Thanks for another great video
Thanks! Yes, I really liked Sema Place.
Sema Place gets my vote. Like the one bedroom apartment layout. Thanks for sharing
Me too Dennis, I really liked Sema. Thanks.
Nice one Wayne. Thanks for showing us around. Nice quiet spots 😃👍🏼
Cheers Kashif. This was a nice place, in a quiet area.
I liked both places Wayne. Thanks for sharing buddy. 🤩
Nice one mate !!
Liking your easy presentation style, so relaxed
Thank you !
I want to be the first to congratulate you on 17K subs...well deserved mate!
Still not there yet, but thanks Jeff
The viletta was amazing. Keep up the great work Wayne this is amazing content.
Thanks!
Very nice Wayne. Looking forward to seeing your travels soon. Take it easy 👍
Thanks mate. Travels coming real soon 👌
That Sema Place one was very nice, but the Colonial style place from a previous vid was really outstanding!
Yes Tanya, the previous place was a real hit with people. That place is totally different from anywhere I've seen.
It's great to see you're exploring chiang mai City
If you are planning explore near Chiang mai University in comming days ,please make a videos on rental house, condos near by university
it would be helpful for international student
Thanks! I will see what I can do. I might be up around the Uni again soon 👍
Thanks Wayne for the new abode digs. I like Sema, spacious & clean. Not sure on those bed frames, always kick my leg😂. Cheers buddy👍
Sema was a great place, I really liked it. Not so keen on the other one. Yes! I hit my shins all the time on my fixed bed. Cheers mate.
I like the Sema Place unit! Very nice!
I really liked Sema Erik, nice place.
@@WalkAboutWayne I'll be there by the end of the year Wayne. Hope to see you in-person at some point.
Thank you for including the pet information.
Yes, that's a big factor with this place. 👍
Good video Wayne thanks showing condo hope you show more from Scott new Zealand
Nice one Scott, I'm sure I'll be showing more places soon mate. Thanks.
@@WalkAboutWayne hope to come Thailand July love to meet you from Scott new Zealand
love the layout of the first room, got everything I need where I want them to be.. hard pressed to call that tiny space a gym though lol
I really liked Sema, great little apartment. I agree about the gym 🤣
Thanks Wayne for the nice guided tour . The second place with two beds looks good . Could bring family members and an animal too. The bicycle idea sounds good too. I guess you get what you pay for , the 5k for your place considerably cheaper and more attractive price wise.
The second place could be an option for anyone with a Pet. I was surprised when she said Pet friendly. Thanks.
The Villetta is an amazing place thanks mate 👍✌️☺️
No worries mate 👍
Hey mate, love the videos. I'm currently residing in Hua Hin and getting the itch to travel to some different parts of Thailand. I was thinking about going over to Chiang Mai for the weekend to experience the city during burning season and see if I can tolerate it. I was also interested in trying my luck with the ladies over there. In one of your previous videos you mentioned using apps to meet a few. Could I inquire as to which ones you use? Could you recommend some that aren't freelancer heavy. Cheers mate.
Hey Johnny, hope all is well down in Hua Hin. Thanks for liking the vlogs. Most of the apps are freelancer heavy mate. Tinder still the best app, then you have Thai Cupid, Thai Friendly.
No wonder you were reluctant to show us the first apartment because that was the pick of the bunch , a great size and only £175 pound a month , and you were right it looked really clean 😊😊😊 . The second two both looked too small for a long term stay .
Yes, I was really thinking about moving to this place and not showing it. But I decided not too. It's one of the places I really liked and will be great for someone. I agree, the second one was well over priced.
Yes it is importent to go for the "feel" of a place and area I think even if the actuall room is not to big but it was very nice with bedroom. We are looking for a 3 month contract maybe not so easy? We stayed at Crystal Place other side of parking to Airport plaza 10 month, close to so much, walked 45 min to school at Pantip. Loved it but expensive, think we payed 11.000, 2 bedsits made to 1. 7 th floor. Miss it but again to expensive. Thank you very much for showing us around!
Yes, the area and feel are really important to me. I don't mind paying more if it's in the area I want. 3 months are still available in Chiang Mai, but they are getting harder to find. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing! There is lots of cheap options in Chiang Mai. But these was expensive for what you get in my humble opinion. Add on the almost 50% markup for the electricity, and the total cost is on par with a small house in Chiang Mai area or, a nice 35 sqm. condo unit in Bangkok with all the amenities in the world...
The second one definitely was. I wouldn't say Sema was expensive. Sure, you can find similar for 5000. I can find a 3 bedroom house for 2500 if I wanted, but I wouldn't want it. I could also go and get a room for 1,500 , but I wouldn't want that either.
All depends what you want really. You could get Sema down to 6 too (Probably)
Thanks
Why is the second one so expensive? 10,000 for just a tiny room? I didn't know Chiang Mai is getting so expensive.
Some places are 1000 and some 20,000. Just depends what the owner wants to charge. Chiang Mai still dirt cheap.
Yep the 10k was very high for a tiny “hotel” room…but I laughed at your “Chiang Mai is getting so expensive” comment. THB 8,000 place ($230) is very cheap for what you get.
Good job Wayne
Thanks mate 👍
Very nice
I really liked Sema.
🎉nice place Wayne 😊
Cheers Trevor 👍
The first Condo with the mini kitchen at 8000 baht , by far the best
Peter Sukhothai
Yes, I really liked that place.
Thanks for the look Wayne, I always appreciate the rental perspectives. Places like those shout that If a person has pension in the U.K. or Social Security in America and surviving on $1500 to $2000/mo., places like that would be a way to be comfortable, secure and bank up some savings.
Absolutely. Live far better than at home. Could be problematic for healthcare, depends on the type of visa you are on I think.
Thanks Jack. Yes, your money can go along way with a place like this. This was a nice little apartment for really cheap.
First one was good value , is burning season usually finished by may wayne ?
Fookin' 'ell, man! Lift the machines! Or just find the local gym. 🙂
🤣🤣🤣 Lift the machines, brilliant 🤣. That's what I said buddy, gyms nearby 👍
I'd take that
It was a nice place mate 👍
I would get the 8,000 THB location in a heartbeat even if it was further out. It was very spacious, clean and super inexpensive. I would get a gas cooking unit and shop at the public market. I would get a motorbike for transportation. I could easily live on $1,000/month and let my investments grow for my kids and grandkids.
Yes William, this would be a nice place, nice and quiet area too
Im heading that way shortly to retire.I have a Thai wife but not keen on doing all that paperwork. How do you get to stay there.Been watcing you for a while now 2 yr
Hi, thanks for watching, I appreciate it. Just get on the right visa and theirs no problems. If you don't want to do things yourself, just get a visa agent to take care of it all for you. 👍
Hi Wayne, wow, apartments as cheap as chips😂 even those of us who have struggled in this life can afford a happy retirement
Yes Craig, these apartments are a great option for anyone on a low budget. Cheap as chips mate 👍
Very affordable and nice 👌
Yes, I really liked Sema Place.
I think I'd rather rent that big beautiful house across the street. 😜
You can I reckon 👍
Sema place 👍🏼👍🏼
I really liked that place.
It’s perfect for 1
Living room was quite dark in first place
Soon sort that out, open it up bit more. 👍
Nice size for 8,000 baht.
Yes, it's not bad at all. I liked Sema Place.
Call me a snob, but those are a couple of proper doss holes
🤣🤣 Everyone to their own. I won't call you a snob though 👍
I realise you haven't been here for a while but twins, that's what Brits want! I'm starting to doubt your origins now ... Yes, I'm sitting in Devon about to return to land of all that's good!
??? I'm a Brit and I never want a twin 🤣
How can i contact Sema place?
You can find them online. I was there about a week ago with a friend and it was fully booked.
Coffee???
Yes please mate 😀
Roughly how much more would a 2 bedroom cost? Extra 20%??
Every place is different Jeff. You can find 2 bedroom places for cheaper than 8000, in the right places.
@@WalkAboutWayneI mean how much more would a 2 bedroom cost in the same building on average...10%,20,30%? Thanks !
@@Jeff-cz3pj Oh, I see what you mean now mate. The Second one had bigger rooms, but I forgot what the price was, they was all full, so couldn't look. I'm sure it was 12,000 though.
@@WalkAboutWayne thank you Wayne, if you could check out 2 bedrooms every now and then that would be great
Looking forward to your next trip!
Map please 😊
In the video, as always :)
Why a twin room? I think everyone except babies sleeps better in their own bed. No worries about farting under the duvet.
True dat.
Yep, true.
For the Lord does not show favoritism. Romans 2:11.
Praise the lord 🙏
No need to even look at apartments in Thailand, in this pricerange thry're all the same, so just look at the area/neighborhood. They're nothing but concrete boxes built for low-expectation westerners, of which there are many. The depressing hallway, like in a cheap hotel, leading to a non-descript entrance, leading into a narrow dark area with a bathroom/shower/storage (tiny), followed by an area referred to as a 'kitchen', which is basically a sink with a mini fridge next to it...then onto the boring bedroom w/o a closet in most cases, oh and the highlight for the average westerners is that awesome stamp-size balcony that is too small for even a chair, and of course useless because of the noise from the a/c unit on the wall. Oh yes, PARADISE in those 'Golden Years' and something to look forward to for sure...Cheers...
God, lighten up buddy 🤣. Even I felt low reading that, it made me think of home and why I left. Book a holiday mate 🤣.
This is about living in CM and accommodation on a budget, what do you think Wayne is going to show us on his channel the Shangri-la 😂
Take it easy man.
