Guys this vs the smart controller is not a competition. The whole point of the smart controller is that its a two in one device so you DONT have to connect a secondary device to your controller. Its for Easy and speed of use in a small package look at the size of that tablet then the setup to connect it to the controller.

Thanks, it's solid in the sun as you can see in the latter part of the video and it will tether well if you have a good cellular service provider and plan.
Would really have liked to see the tablet in use outside. You dedicated an entire "three seconds" to showing the screen quality, at 15.37 to 15.40. What's it like in sunny conditions and all? Wanted to see it in action. Also you missed some vital spec info. What version is the WiFi, BT? Also twin speakers, or quad like on most quality tablets today. What's the sound like? Good sound system?
Tablet speakers are not very good sounding a little tiny but it does have Bluetooth connectivity for Bluetooth speakers and earbuds. If you watch the entire video more towards the end has outside use

I just got the rc pro for my mavic 3 and the difference in the way the sticks move compared to the stock controller is day and night! Nice thing is you also have a fan built into the controller where this tablet has a heat sink you have to rely on. Then there is the huge portability advantage…. Worth the extra money to get the rc controller over this.

I use the RC Pro with the Air 2s and I’ll never go back to tablet/phone setup again. The convenience of the setup is just too nice. I’m out of the bag and ready to takeoff in 49 seconds. Yeah it’s only 4 minutes with the tablet/phone but I find I fly a lot more now. There were days I thought about flying but just the thought of taking off my phone case, and all the hassle of setting up like, I couldn’t swipe up on my phone to open it when it was in the remote (Mavic Pro), or the thoughts text messages/emails or phone calls coming on the screen was enough to deter me. I bought the Air 2s with the Smart Controller Fly More Combo and sold it for $800 and bought the RC Pro new for $999. I get the price for the RC Pro is normally $1100-$1200 but for me is was only about $400 more the way I did it. I paid $200 more for the Smart Controller bundle over the standard controller then only paid $199 for RC Pro over the price I sold the Smart Controller for so I got an RC Pro for $399 over the standard controller Fly More Combo price. I know a few months ago B&H was selling RC Pro bundles but I believe they were more than the $1648 I ended up paying ($1449 - $800 + $999 = $1648). The RC Pro is worth $399 without a doubt, I would even have been happy at $999 (eBay seller Infinity-Drones) but $1200 is too high a price IMHO.
Nice video. I’m returning my Tripltek Pro because it’s too large and heavy. It didn’t feel secure enough mounted to the controller, and was a pain to set up each time. Nor did everything fit in the Fly More bag. So, for the convenience, I’m going to shell out the extra $400 over the $800 Tripltek for the new DJI RC controller. Also, it didn’t work out well for me as an everyday tablet on account of its size and weight. Ultimately, my phone is much better (with no need for an additional SIM card).
Two questions: Are you sure you have to use LAANC to fly at night? I thought that changed earlier this year. Do you know if the video update from Tripltek will also be good for the 7" model I've been using for 6 months and absolutely love. Of course now I want the 8 pro but we can't always have what we want (right away).

I wonder how it would work tethered to my IPhone for cell coverage?? It is really nice and weather resistant. It is also really expensive. I can certainly see the advantage if you use your drone for business. I could not see not having one.
You don’t have to be part 107 to fly at night. Only if your getting paid.All the FAA requires is lighting. It’s easier to fly at night as a rec pilot then a 107. Not sure why you put that info out there?
I am shocked no one mentions the blurry effect the Tripltek screen has. I returned mine. I was disappointed. Any time you swipe or scroll it is blurry until it comes to a stop again. Same with video feed display using my Air 2S. My Galaxy S20 FE blows it away. Even if it's not actually recorded blurry, you still can't trade a bigger screen for clear transmission. I am not sold on the Tripltek 8 Pro. I seen it for myself. I don't get why most of our drone channel guys are promoting this thing...
Nice, but I believe the resolution is 720p for the TripLtek tablet -if you use it with the Mavic 3 which is capable of 1080p video feedback you will be loosing image quality right? Also, the new RC PRO controller from DJI, while smaller 5.5 screen it has more range and power than the standard RC on the Mavic 3 that's the exact same as the Air2S. So I'm not sure what to get, RC Pro or this tablet.
Tripletek said a USB c to HDMI adapter should work, however the tablet has already optimized to work with most streaming platforms, thus you should not even need a cable. Happy Flying 😎

I made the decision to buy the Tripltek after watching your video, Ive had it for two weeks and its now on eBay in the UK. Way too heavy for me plus Im not keen on Google and android. It looks great at night but not in bright sunlight.

Currently I am. It's a bigger and brighter screen. The new smart controller is definitely more convenient and I would probably consider it, but since I have this tablet, there's no big need for the smart controller for me right now. I use a phone to fly the original mavic Mini. I want to get a tablet to get a bigger screen. Can I switch off one day use my phone the other day using my tablet or is it 1 or the other 🤔
I loved it, very fast to get up in the Air. I just wish DJI used a better processor inside, so it wasn't buggy and so it wouldn't skip frames and I wish I wasn't loosing range.

Your videos are always entertaining and informative. A great tablet. But it is it any better, faster and more reliable than my iPhone 10 for my Air 2s? Everything else is fluff.
Dude I know ur shilling for tripletek but after looking in on the tab, it’s got a very old cpu chip in it, you are definitely better off getting a 8 inch Samsung tab s7 with the latest snapdragon cpu and gpu. Whatever they told you the reason is they can’t play 4K it’s bullcrap, I’m telling you as a Android developer myself : Google has NO such issues, the issue lies in tripletek choice of components. Additionally, Samsung tablets are not only as brighter if not more but they are also OLED screens. Their paying you or giving you a free tab, it’s all good, but don’t fool the people yo.
I have been using the previous 7" version and love it because of how much brighter it is to everything else. I can see the details very well in the sun, but with my phone or Samsung tablet I can not, plus the Tripltek is very rugged and has such a long batter life, it just lasts and lasts.
Ive just ordered the tripltek pro 8; scheduled to arrive Thursday. I really like Ken Dobos minimalist holders that I ordered as well. Selling my iPad mini 5, 64gb, Wi-Fi, as well as my smart controller. I firmly believe the SC2 will cost around $1000 when available, but same nits and size as the original controller. Although i love the capability of the sc fior my mini2, Air2S, old mavic ro 2, and phantom 4v2, Ive decided at $800 with larger screen than the SC2, that ive made a good decision. If not, i fully expect that I could sell it for $700min if i decide to later purchase the SC2. Do you know of any matte finish protectors that would work without detriment to the the visibility of the screen? I do look forward to your future review, especially since I’m very familiar to ios; not so much with android. Also, will you be attending SpinUp?

droneXfactor is comparing the signal between flying with the DJI SmartController and flying with the DJI standard controller with the tripltek, and the signal is much better with the DJI controller than with the DJI SC
Extenders are proven not to work with the regular dji controller. Curious, I never have range issues up to 1.5 miles in all conditions, why do you need to fly further? If someone has VLOS is no concern to me, just curious.
I am confused. Do you have to hook up Tripltek to original controller that comes with drone? Can you use Tripltek as an CONTROLLER substitute and not just as a tablet?
Please keep in mind the following 1.There are three DJI controllers with built in screens. a The DJI Pro b. The DJI "smart controller" early version c. The new smart controller that is an option with the DJI Mini 3 PRO called the DJI RC Keep in mind that the range controllers A and B can be increased significantly by attaching range extenders to the antennas which is NOT possible on the DJI RC "C" However please note that the DJI "Smart Controller" is no longer available and no longer supported by DJI and is NOT listed in the DJI Firmware support page which is worrying as this controller is currently an option in a package with the DJI Air 2S. (Currently out of stock as of today19/08/2022) This means DJI are currently selling the smart controller with the DJI Air 2S that DJI NO LONGER SUPPORT!!

I’m surprised you were authorized to fly there. It’s pretty close to the airport!
Also can use the strap included for the back of the tablet to connect it to the DJI controller...no tablet adapter needed.

Yes LAANC must be used if you are in controlled airspace day or night and I didn't know the 7" had this video playback issue.

Wow, I wish I knew what you forgot, you got it down to science, just got into DJI Mavic air 2 a lot to learn can't see my S9 to good out in the AZ sun use to those Yuneec 5004K big TX screens spoiled me but I love the flight time on the air2 and the way they fly, now just learning everything, but watching a lot of your videos and I am learning keep them going I need the help may get the new tablet I may be a 50 year RC Pilot but you got to see it LOL

It will work good, especially if you have excellent Cellular service provider and service plan.
You don’t have to be part 107 to fly at night. Only if your getting paid.All the FAA requires is lighting. It’s easier to fly at night as a rec pilot then a 107. Not sure why you put that info out there?
I am shocked no one mentions the blurry effect the Tripltek screen has. I returned mine. I was disappointed. Any time you swipe or scroll it is blurry until it comes to a stop again. Same with video feed display using my Air 2S. My Galaxy S20 FE blows it away. Even if it's not actually recorded blurry, you still can't trade a bigger screen for clear transmission. I am not sold on the Tripltek 8 Pro. I seen it for myself. I don't get why most of our drone channel guys are promoting this thing...

Nice, but I believe the resolution is 720p for the TripLtek tablet -if you use it with the Mavic 3 which is capable of 1080p video feedback you will be loosing image quality right? Also, the new RC PRO controller from DJI, while smaller 5.5 screen it has more range and power than the standard RC on the Mavic 3 that's the exact same as the Air2S. So I'm not sure what to get, RC Pro or this tablet.
The New 8" tripletek tablet is 1440p max Resolution not 720p.
I don't know if RC Pro has more range?
The old smart controller did not have more range🚫

Tripletek said a USB c to HDMI adapter should work, however the tablet has already optimized to work with most streaming platforms, thus you should not even need a cable.

Ok bro.... here's my delema ... just got the RC Pro today and set it up and charged it .. took the M3 out with the RC Pro.. really I was more excited cause both are using the Ocusync 3+... but coming from my Samsung Z Fold 4 7 inch and going to the RC Pro 5 inch seems like a downgrade for me ... WTF!!... I'm gonna use it a couple more days but I'm kinda torn between the two???...

I bought the Walmart ONN 8 inch a few days ago for $100CAD, they also make 10 inch. The 8 inch runs the app no problem so far, but it has only been a few days.
These tablets are not as bright but also don't cost more than a Mini 2

I made the decision to buy the Tripltek after watching your video, Ive had it for two weeks and its now on eBay in the UK. Way too heavy for me plus Im not keen on Google and android. It looks great at night but not in bright sunlight.

@@xavier_arthur Yes I could return it but I had to pay £45.00 to have it delivered to the UK and would have to pay the same to return it. I got better results with the iPad mini 5 with a sun hood. Ive got bids on eBay so may buy the RC pro and get some goggle action in my life.

It's a bigger and brighter screen.
The new smart controller is definitely more convenient and I would probably consider it, but since I have this tablet, there's no big need for the smart controller for me right now. Unless it's smart controller works with the older drones like Air 2s the tablet brings me more value right now.

I use a phone to fly the original mavic Mini. I want to get a tablet to get a bigger screen. Can I switch off one day use my phone the other day using my tablet or is it 1 or the other 🤔

I loved it, very fast to get up in the Air. I just wish DJI used a better processor inside, so it wasn't buggy and so it wouldn't skip frames and I wish I wasn't loosing range.

Hey how goes it? Quick question... Is the Tripltek 8 Pro compatible with the Mavic 2 Pro controller? It brings up the Go 4 app but doesn't connect with my drone. After I exit the app I see a picture of the drone with the caption, "Not available in your Country." I'm in the US so that seems crazy but is that correct? Thanks for your time.

Hey... Yeah it turned out to be a faulty controller. The micro usb doesn't but I was able to get it going using the usb a connection.

I did not use noise reduction in this video but I do use noise reduction sometimes, for that I use DaVinci Resolve Studio 💪

Dude I know ur shilling for tripletek but after looking in on the tab, it’s got a very old cpu chip in it, you are definitely better off getting a 8 inch Samsung tab s7 with the latest snapdragon cpu and gpu. Whatever they told you the reason is they can’t play 4K it’s bullcrap, I’m telling you as a Android developer myself : Google has NO such issues, the issue lies in tripletek choice of components. Additionally, Samsung tablets are not only as brighter if not more but they are also OLED screens. Their paying you or giving you a free tab, it’s all good, but don’t fool the people yo.

I have been using the previous 7" version and love it because of how much brighter it is to everything else.
I can see the details very well in the sun, but with my phone or Samsung tablet I can not, plus the Tripltek is very rugged and has such a long batter life, it just lasts and lasts.

Ive just ordered the tripltek pro 8; scheduled to arrive Thursday. I really like Ken Dobos minimalist holders that I ordered as well. Selling my iPad mini 5, 64gb, Wi-Fi, as well as my smart controller. I firmly believe the SC2 will cost around $1000 when available, but same nits and size as the original controller. Although i love the capability of the sc fior my mini2, Air2S, old mavic ro 2, and phantom 4v2, Ive decided at $800 with larger screen than the SC2, that ive made a good decision. If not, i fully expect that I could sell it for $700min if i decide to later purchase the SC2. Do you know of any matte finish protectors that would work without detriment to the the visibility of the screen? I do look forward to your future review, especially since I’m very familiar to ios; not so much with android. Also, will you be attending SpinUp?

droneXfactor is comparing the signal between flying with the DJI SmartController and flying with the DJI standard controller with the tripltek, and the signal is much better with the DJI controller than with the DJI SC
Extenders are proven not to work with the regular dji controller. Curious, I never have range issues up to 1.5 miles in all conditions, why do you need to fly further? If someone has VLOS is no concern to me, just curious.

Please keep in mind the following
1.There are three DJI controllers with built in screens.
a The DJI Pro
b. The DJI "smart controller" early version
c. The new smart controller that is an option with the DJI Mini 3 PRO called the DJI RC
Keep in mind that the range controllers A and B can be increased significantly by attaching range extenders to the antennas which is NOT possible on the DJI RC "C"
However please note that the DJI "Smart Controller" is no longer available and no longer supported by DJI and is NOT listed in the DJI Firmware support page which is worrying as this controller is currently an option in a package with the DJI Air 2S. (Currently out of stock as of today19/08/2022)
This means DJI are currently selling the smart controller with the DJI Air 2S that DJI NO LONGER SUPPORT!!
