I agree bro...who the hell is ever gonna be going faster than that on any public road? the tesla smokes anything in the range of speed that any Sane human being would approach.
@Jonas Jonaitis Also almost as expensive as the Porsche 991 GT3 RS. To be honest i would rather have a Porsche 991 GT3 RS for 1 reason. Track Driving. I don't care if the Tesla is faster on 0 - 60 MPH. But what i know is it definitely won't be beating it on Handling, Cornering, Build Quality and Lap Times. Driving Experience. Same thing with Tesla Roadster 2020 that doesn't even look like it's built for Race Track driving basing on it's Design that doesn't even have enough Down force design. Only Short 1/4 Mile Straight Line Drag Racing.
@@ShadowRomeo1784 $60,000 difference at least in the price of those two cars, so no. Well, of course, the GT3 RS would be the perfect weapon for that sort of driving, it was purpose-built to be a track car. Do you use a screwdriver to hammer a nail?
jimmybean, you poseurs always bring up the Autobahn or the Nürburgring, pathetic trolls, wtf do you drive? Same to you Jonas, keep off the Tesla channels, I kill trolls for fun.
@@PyroVesten That was most likely recorded after the race as you see no camera aimed at the dash when you see chris in view, also the acceleration Chris is describing; 130...140... is way faster than what the dash-aimed camera shows
@Lilburrit00 99 Terrible horrific comment. How you know he didn't stiff suspensions? Because they didn't show it? They could do it anyway. Harris is so experienced car reviewer that I am sure he checked everything before open his mouth. And yes, this car is all about software and Chris Harris is all about driving, so you can't complain that he is not nerding about software. I like Tesla a lot, especially Model 3, that is my dream car right now. Model S is already old by its platform. Technology is there and over the others, but its 130k pounds and by platform and dynamics its already old and can't compete other luxury brands that costs lot less. Model 3 is up to date in everyway and that's why lot better overall car by money than Model S.
@Lilburrit00 99 but he learnt. All his review cars have different suspension setups and I think he would search that too from there. But what I say is I just assume things and same thing you are doing. It's maybe better not make opinions about things from assumptions.
The 911 is more than twice the price and the TESLA is a four door car. A sedan is trashing a high end, almost a supercar vehicle. Just wait when the Roadster 2020 comes out lol
No one is comparing these two in terms of standstill acceleration. The nature of electric drivetrains favor that battle obviously. But have you ever wondered why there are no Nurburgring vids with Teslas? You can already tell in this video, they have narrow temperature levels for performance and they overheat. You can do as many laps of a track as your tank allows you to in a 911 or other combustion engines, in an electric you'll be lucky to do one. As impressive as Tesla is, they're not solving the universal issue with batteries overheating and losing efficiency by 2020. I'll stick with the combustion engine for a good 10-15 years more.
Kevin Arzola haven’t seen Tesla beat any Porsche on any race track anywhere in in the world. What’s the Tesla time at the Nurburgring? Oh yeah that’s right. It only lasted three minutes flat out. Tesla is only good for one party trick and that’s a short drag race. And it can only do that once then you have to wait thirty minutes for the next one. And don’t get me started on Tesla build quality. Panel fit alone is atrocious. Then there’s resale value. F1, GT, GT2,GT3,, World endurance Championship, Ferrari, Porsche, Toyota, Honda. Never seen Tesla win one of these races. Never seen Tesla in the hills on a Sunday morning. Seen every other performance car.
Kevin Arzola so how do you wanna grade your beloved Tesla? The interior is worse than competitors, the quality isn’t great, quality control is garbage. The range is terrible compared to other rivals.
Philip sode the car is a daily driver that just happens to be straight in a line. You pushing it to go against super and beat supercars as well as track performance cars is actually a compliment to the Tesla
I love watching Chris Harris' reviews. It's the road tests that matters to him. He genuinely says how he feels and not just what he wants you to hear. You can see his eyes and face actually compute what's happening when he is behind the wheel. Well done matey!
Richard O'Leary .. Yes and Chris was the first to call out the latest Land Rover Discovery as an ugly car, which it is....very! I admire that level of honesty in this corporate world.
ju kiwi He is a real driver! Find the Top Gear episode where he drives the Aston Martin Vulcan. Then watch his eyes as he absorbs everything that's going on....like a terminator T-800
My oh my I’ve never really liked Tesla.. but I had the privilege of riding in a Tesla Model S 90d a few days ago.. holy crap these things are no joke.. it was fast as hell. Can’t imagine the 100d
To be fair, Chris, this is the first serious production electric car in modern history and it’s not even a purpose-built sports car. It’s a family sedan built by Silicon Valley nerds. Porsche has been building cars with IC engines for 87 years and, in their light weight high-end icon of a sports car, they can barely keep up with the nerds. Prepare yourself.
@@philipmario9809 gut? I think you mean tune, but you can't tune a tesla like put in a bigger turbo or just make it lighter with some carbonfiber parts if you have 1,4 tons of batteries under your ass to move that vehicle (a regular motor weighs about 250 kg
@@teasippingguy9316 by gut i mean remove eveyrthing you dont need from the interior , like seats , belts and so on, this should make the car lighter and probably decrease the 0-100 time
Just one thing... When you do the 0-150 test and the next one for that matter, the battery of the Tesla has less than 20% state of charge. In these conditions, the performance will be reduced (and you can see that in the "instrument cluster": there is a warning sign that the power is limited). The P100D performs at its best when the battery is nearly full (and it consumes a s*load of electrons, too... Mind you, it still consumes less of that than either the i-Pace or the e-tron).
Bla bla bla. Electric cars are still shite in comparison. "Cooling" (charging) after just TWO drag races. Only difference was the driver. I suspect the tesla owner was driving slower on purpose or he has no business in top gear.
Francis Galiegue well taking a naturally aspired MANUAL Porsche 911 isn't fair at all, wouldn't you think ? If they used a Porsche with a automatic transmission, this drag race would have had an entire different outcome, even up to 120mph, I call double standards that you Tesla Guy's want your cars to be raced in the best conditions, but don't care if the other car you race against is even suited or if it is comparable to it. The 911R as the R suggests is a car for racing and not made for drag strips at all, consider that. There are many Porsches that would beat the Tesla in a drag race, if you take them we can talk about the Tesla being tested in perfect conditions.
The Model S is also a 5-seater family sedan, that weighs over 4,900lbs. Can't wait to see what they have to complain about when the Roadster 2.0 comes out.
Only a 0-120 machine, well, one that can fit 5+2 people and has huge storage and has not the main goal of being fast. If you compare sports cars against sports cars then wait for the roadster...
Only if you want the max performance which it isn't really designed to do. Its more of a party trick, you don't have to do all that crap to drive it normally. I would be interested to see the performance figures for it in "regular mode" or whatever they are calling the mode that gets decent range and doesn't damage the machinery.
Beats super cars and hyper cars to 100mph, beats most if not all luxury vehicles for NVH and ease of driving, matches or beats most family saloons for seating and luggage room. But it's not got an ICE so it sucks, apparently!... I'm a big fan of ICE, but I'm not dumb enough to think that they have any future in mass produced vehicles. They WILL be relegated to the purely enthusiast performance cars, and that's a good thing!
I love how people get all worked up about Teslas racing supercars. You guys do realize that the Model S is not meant for racing? It's a luxury electric car that happens to be able to run like hell because of its great engineering. You wanted racing cars, Musk is giving you racing cars. The new Roadster will demolish every car ever made.
For the record the way an electric motor works just means it spins up quicker and will be faster off the line than an equivalent petrol car. Its nothing especially unique about Tesla that makes their cars have this crazy fast acceleration, its the same with all electric cars to some extent. Even something like an i3, not at all built for speed, has this to some extent.
Only good to 125mph? Lol It's a family car, not a supercar Porsche 911R. That's like comparing a BMW S1000R to a Goldwing and detracting the Goldwing for beating the BMW in the 1/4 mile. Apples to Oranges. Now can the Porsche hold 5 adults and a large amount of luggage in the back and auto-drive itself? No. I'm not even into Tesla, but we are going to be able to thank them for pushing other manufacturers to step up their game in even just a few short years. Good for them. Meanwhile, I'll still be saving for the 918. :P
Brent Anthony yeah ,it also is awd and electric so it produces max torque instantly. It loses power at the higher rpms where the "conventional" petrol cars destroy it. A complete fest of useless numbers over actual performance, just to lure in all the clueless idiots that judge a car from its brochure. Still though ,i appreciate its excistence as something different that will actually keep the internal combustion engine alive if you think about it.
Brent Anthony it can do like two rides on 0-120 before 10min circles for cooling. At this point I think you can buy e63 wagon And it will be fast everytime, not after 10buttons
thats what you get with independent rear suspension. good for twisty's, but can't ever replace a live rear end at launches. No matter how much euro snobs pretend it's the greatest thing ever.
I’m a huge Porsche fan but god he has to be more objective. Comparing a 100k salon to a top of the line sports car in acceleration? And when things don’t work out increase the test to 150? I doubt anyone would need that speed in their commute, and Tesla however fast a car wasn’t meant to be a racer. It’s capable, but it’s not what it’s built for. Top Gear has a history of biases against Tesla and electric cars in general but please do try harder to make a just a bit more subtle.
Same thing with Porsche 911R. It clearly isn't built for only short drag races. it's built for driving experience such as handling corners at a race track. A Tesla can't do that. They overheat and goes to limp mode to prevent Battery damage due to overheating.

This wasnt much of a comparison because if it was they would have compared track times because that Porsche was built for that, and not to go fast in a straight line. It just looked like fun little test against something that is known to be fast, and Im pretty sure entire bloody world knows by now that p100D is very fast from 0-60 and would beat that Porsche easily.

@@Fragz96 I guess you're not very familiar with English idioms. "One trick pony" implies that the car can only do one thing well. The Tesla is pretty much the exact opposite of that. It's is not, and was never intended to be, a sports car.
0-to-150mph was a thing long before EVs made a splash. The future is not EVs. The future is ICE and EVs. ICE future is going to stay especially with CNG and hydrogen fuels making more gains.
alkhan2 Actually it lost at 111mph. Even with with a fully charged battery, it will still lose a 0-150mph drag race to a 911. The folks at Motortrend analyzed the Telsa's acceleration curve, and yes it's rate of acceleration was slowing down and lost a full 1g of acceleration in 4 seconds. So even in that famed 2.3 sec 0-60 run, it was already slowing down 0.5 seconds after launch.
Some cheap leather? Chris, you've spent too much time in supercars on your gorgeous alcantara. Most of us are still repping second/third-owner piss-stained cloth XD
Dont forget in the UK a lot of the cost of this car is tax. A lot of these design and material choices make much more sense when 40% cheaper, i.e. in the US

Misleading knock to the Model S performance in this review. The Model S had a low state of charge, and was limiting power output to almost 50% (only ~250kw) from them repeatedly thrashing it down the dragway. Look at the energy meter on the dashboard at 3:34. If you go over to Dragtimes RUclips channel, they have a video that shows the performance drop off related to state of charge for the Model S. If the Model S had anything close to a full charge, and hadn't been overheated, it would crush the 911R even to 155 MPH... Otherwise it was a good review.
+iHeart GT86 {KatyCat} he just pointed out that they are cheating. It is well-known fact that Tesla does not run at 100% when the battery is low. It is called batery saving mode. It happened not the first time and top gears one of the main sponsors are Shell
That could’ve just been any clip or take they filmed during their time with the car. The takes and scenes arent necessarily in the order that they were filmed.
Why do people always forget that model s is not just a performance car. It can seat 5 people with a crap load of luggage. The Porsche is first and foremost a performance car.
Parth Upmanyu because Tesla fanboys choose to compare them with performance cars when's it suits them. Just like Musk calling the S a rival to the S Class to suit sales figures
07Corcaigh Its a rival to the S Class because they are in the same market. Actually, the Tesla Model S is surpassing S Class sales, crazy as it may sound. I noticed more people against Tesla compare it to a performance car, not the other way around
It is a performance car. It's an electric muscle car to be precise. Something like a Charger Hellcar. Cheap car with oversized engine. @Adnan Alladin Model S is not S-class competitor. It's way too cheaply build to be one.
3:40 - Not being overtaken until you're travelling 150 mph is not the same as reaching 150 mph first. The 911 was faster to all speeds greater than 110 mph, because that's where it started catching up.
Coming back to this video again three years later.. glad someone had a common science sense. I made a similar comment (three years ago) .. that the 911 was faster than the Tesla when the Tesla hit 150 MPH. Apparently people don't get that. .. SMH..

omg. you are racing the car at low charge. it's a lottt slower when the battery is less 30% and it seems like you're doing it when it is under 20%. It's like you purposely don't want it to win. This is ridiculous. Model S is a family sports sedan weighing almost 5000 lbs. the 911R is just a straight up race car. Yes, tesla is a one trick pony because it is never meant to be a race car. Also, all fast ICE cars have a narrow power curve when max power is available at a small range. Tesla acceleration is almost uniform. That's why a non-performance model S feels quicker than an M3 on everyday driving even though the M3 is quicker on paper. Drive it for a week in the city and you'll see what i'm talking about.
"omg. you are racing the car at low charge. it's a lottt slower when the battery is less 30%" That's funny because you can do that all day in the Porsche and it will go the same speed every time. In case this went over your head, the point is the Tesla going slower when the battery gets low is a very real disadvantage of owning an electric car. It's not going to get special treatment because of that. If it cannot keep up the same pace through a full day of testing, then that is the REALITY of the situation. If you're saying it can't win because it's at 20% battery, then that is representative of the real world. Tough shit. You need to learn to accept the very obvious and significant downsides of driving an electric car.
Annnnd, the family car still beats the porsche track car 0-60 when the battery is below 20%. **Meanwhile, motorheads are complaining how it's unfair that electric motors have instant torque lol** Guess what that's the reality of the situation then and in reality you only care about 0-60 not 0-150 or 200, unless you live in Germany. In everyday driving, even a non-performance tesla can feel quicker than the porsche cuz everything is instant. you just have to drive one for a while to understand.
"Annnnd, the family car still beats the porsche track car 0-60 when the battery is below 20%. " ...because it's AWD and the porsche is RWD. 0-60 is a measurement of traction, not speed or power. And the reality still hasn't changed - the Tesla loses power the lower its charge level gets. That's a fact and not up for debate. The Porsche does not lose power as its fuel tank gets lower. Also a fact that is not up for debate. "and in reality you only care about 0-60 not 0-150 or 200" In reality, the Tesla can't handle for shit, and handling is what the 911R is specifically built do to. "In everyday driving, even a non-performance tesla can feel quicker than the porsche" And you still have all the disadvantages of electric, i.e. less range, waning power as the charge gets low, and extremely long charge times. Not to mention ridiculous weight and terrible handling. "you just have to drive one for a while to understand." I drive a 700 HP CTS-V that can easily out-accelerate a P90D. But go ahead and tell me more about how the Tesla "feels" faster.
lfyfain If the Tesla performs worse at lower battery levels, that's a problem with the car. You can launch the 911R at 30% battery power or 10% fuel, and it'll perform just as well. Also, the 911R is not a race car.
lfyfain y’all are comparing a race car to a luxury sedan. People don’t buy a Tesla to rip around on a track like a Porsche. This Top Gear vid just shows that the P100D has faster acceleration. In an infinite straight away the Porsche will always catch up. As for the “gas” comment, I think I loss brain cells reading that. A battery is not the same as gasoline/internal combustion engine. If you’re low on fuel it doesn’t effect performance because the engine is still consuming the same amount of fuel regardless. In a battery, the amount of power is bottlenecked through the car’s computer when it is low so that you don’t run out of power (it’s bad for batteries in any device to be completely drained).
So he had to do 150mph to beat the car that does 400miles for £25 and has space for the family? Odd. He really hates Tesla, he'll only be driving electrics in 5 years maybe he'll hate his job :D
I'm dissapointed no mention of the balance of the car or the roadholding. i know its a heavy car, but the perfect weight distribution and double wishbone suspension (good camber curves) make for a nice drivers car. I think tesla's suspension tuner is a genius.
You can't fight physics. That's like expecting an fat person to beat Usain Bolt just because the fat guy is wearing the world's most high tech track suit and running shoes. Same problem the Veyron had.
Here's a thought. Since we are comparing two cars with two completely different market segments and two different design goals, let's now take the two cars and give them to a family of 4 with the instructions to get the kids to school, do the grocery shopping, get the kids to cheerleading, soccer, band, etc. practices, and do it every day for a month. After all...fair is fair.
Dan Detweiler To be fair to the review, the internet isn't exactly on fire with the cargo capacity specs. Hype over Tesla is based in performance first and foremost. That's what they prefaced in this video and that's what they reviewed.
clutchthepearls That might be the hype of some but people are buying them as utility family sedans. That is their market segment. Super car aficionados aren't the one's forking out the money for Model S for the most part.
Chris, I love your videos but you are ignorant of the properties of an electric car in this segment. I would have hoped you did a little more research. It doesn't look like you ever activated launch mode which is what enables an extra 100 Nm+ of torque in the low end and the whole reason for preconditioning the battery. It's designed for single runs at a time - hence the narrow temperature operating point. If you had left the pre-heating off, you could have done multiple normal runs back to back without such strict temperature control. Also, in your 0-150mph run the cluster shows 68 miles of range. With the pack that low on charge, power is severely limited above 60mph. If you repeated that run at full charge the 911R would lose by an aircraft carrier length.
Wan, it's "complicated" if you want every bit of power out of it. Same with most hypercars etc. They all have launch modes etc., some even have double keys for max speed.
And the tesla will continuously get murderd by the Porsche at any high speed acceleration..We dont even need a noble Porsche..it could even be rape by a Nissan lol...its just for a few seconds thanks to some stupid bunch of battery pack that are supposed to run some laptops..nobodys gonna call that shit a car lol..its just a battery pack tied on to 4 wheels lol..it should drag race with a vacuum cleaner or an iphone charger
1) The Porsche is much more expensive 2) The Porsche is lighter and 2 seats. 3) This Tesla car is a SEDAN 4 Door 4) Teslas price is like a third of the price 5) Porsche has been building cars with IC engines for 87 years and, in their light weight high-end icon of a sports car, they can barely keep up with. Tesla is a new-ish company 6) No pollution Tesla all the way
1) that Porsche is one of the slowest 911’s available in recent history 2) the Tesla is slower around corners than its competitors like the Audi RS7, the Panama turbo, the BMW M5 and the E63 AMG. Said competitors also happen to handle better on the whole and are more sure-footed than the Tesla around bends. Oh, and they actually can do more than half a lap around the Nurburgring. 3) Said competitors are also better high speed cruisers, with cruising speeds higher than the Tesla’s top speed and the ability to last longer and farther at said speeds than the Tesla. And while no one outside of Germany needs high top speeds on public roads, no one needs to do 0-60 in 2.3s on public roads either. Thank you very much. 4) all said competitors are family cars with the Audi, Porsche and E63 having estate/break alternatives (namely the RS6, the panamera sport turismo and the E63 wagon) 5) Tesla fanboys like to have it both ways, invoking the age of other companies as an excuse to refuse comparison when Tesla is inferior in some aspects, but also as an argument for comparison when Tesla does something better. That’s not how it works. 6) lithium, fossil electricity. Even if it pollutes less than ICE cars (which is debatable), it still pollutes. I was a very early fan of Tesla and still am, but y’all fanboys are toxic morons at times. No car is perfect. Accept criticism, for God’s sake. The review is largely positive, but you can’t seem to believe that lord-and-savior-Elon-Musk’s car could do anything bad. Grow up.
@@warandwar227 That's what is fun ;) Driving in a straight line just ends up in a lost drivers license. War and War Why would I need a fast car to corner well? Are you seriously asking? Are you brain-dead or just moronic? Well, genius, allow me to school you: ever heard of the moose test? Probably not, ignorant as you’ve proven yourself to be. This is a test that simulates the ability of a car to safely avoid obstacles that suddenly appear in its way at speed e.g. a moose, or say a clueless child. This test reveals a car’s handling characteristics in emergency situations and just in fast maneuvers when stepping on the brakes is useless. And there are very, very few drivers that will never have to avoid such obstacles coming out of nowhere. I’ve had to avoid a deer a few months ago. This test is an industry standard, an hence, the vast majority of cars go through it. Any car failing it is deemed unsafe while the cars that do pass it do not all pass it with flying colors, as the ease with which the car does pass is also evaluated . Now, Einstein, guess what kind of car is going to pass this test with ease? That’s right! A car that is fine cornering fast as it indicates that it is more stable! Unbelievable, right? But wait, there’s more! A car that corners fast has superior driving dynamics, which results in less risk of terminal oversteer or understeer at identical speeds! Now I know you don’t know what that means, so in simple terms, it means that you would need to be a lot more of an idiot to crash than with a car that doesn’t turn as well. So it is safer. End of the lesson.
I have a model S and have driven it for 60K miles all over Europe. I also have a BMW 850 and Mercedes E300., which have been sitting on the drive for 18 months. Too many shills work for Tesla, just like Apple and Google. US companies just can't resist paying people for positive and fake comments all across the internet, but especially on RUclips.
@@snesko97 yes and no - for normal driving, the rpm range (and flat torque curve) of an electric motor is far superior to what an ICE can do. However, at high electric motor rpm, the power losses become quite significant, which is why they get overtaken by traditional sports cars. Simply add a gearbox (two or three gears would probably be enough) and you get a flattened power curve even at very high speeds, crushing anything an ICE can do.

A Audi RS7 can handle Nurburgring Nordschleife very well without overheating. A Tesla can't.
Except that a budget sedan will happily do 120-150mph. For such an expensive car, one would expect it to go faster and get to that speed a lot quicker too
The whole performance test and review was done when the Tesla has less than 20 percent of battery. Tesla would have been way faster with higher battery state of charge. Look almost like Top Gear wants to make Tesla perform worse.
I think the whole point of the drag race was something as digital as possible (Tesla) vs something as analog as possible (manual 911). I don't think the Panamera comes with a stick shift.
@sub93h i see your point but I think they should have pined it against another car that seats 5 people like the tesla. 911 r only seats 2 and its pretty much a race car for the road which isnt what the tesla is. The model S is trying to be the best sedan. im sure they could have found a gas-powered manual 4 door with similar specs to Panamera so both cars would have similar pros and cons in everything except the motor and the way it creates and delivers power. A true Gasoline vs Electricity test you know? i guess that wasnt what they were going for here
Black Thunder but musk promotes it as one. Look he can do 0-60 in 2 seconds which is completely irrelevant for a family car BUT LOOK ITS SO FAST HURR DURR
That's just the way electric cars are, it's not promoted as a sports car, it's promoted as a luxury car. Which just so happens to be able to go faster than far more expensive sports cars. I mean, if it can go that quick, then why not promote it?
ExeKuTioN Cro - talking about the speed doesn't make it a sports car. He's just proving that this family sedan is NOT inferior to gasoline cars simply because it's electric. You gasoline fanboys are just looking for every way possible to make fun of an electric car because it terrifies you.
Tom Foolery lol. It's a great car for around town any further than that it's not worth a cup of cold piss. Drive it hard and it will be on charge more than your iphone.
5:18 Looks like the 9.11 is falling apart out back. The Model S needs to be fully charged to show its full speed and obviously they failed with that here "68mi range bottom left" 3:27 , they are literally trying to kill the P100D's battery, how ridiculous. Even like that it destroys the 9.11.
Many cars flex and have play like that. From mustangs to lambos to Agera RS's. I hate them but look at the 1st generation of GTRs lol hoods flying off left and right. High HP drag cars can twist their frames due to the force.
kasparov9 lol just check the facts it need 6.52 seconds 0-100 mph pors he turbo for example needs 6.2 seconds. At 110 mph it gets overtaken by most cars. Like I said its basically.only the 0-60 time its good because of the instant torque which isnt even a tesla thing but a specific of an electric motor. And you can already see the time the tesla takes from 60 -100 is double of that it takes from 0-60, where as petrol cars actually can easily get faster from 60-100 than from 0-60 ;)
You cant be this bias in the modern era of the internet. People know what your doing. Tesla is the future, and their's nothing top gear can do about it.
It is so easy to say somebody is biased just because someone think different way. Nobody really look and think "why he have that opinion?". Chris Harris is a race driver and I understand why he thinks like that. He is impressed about acceleration, but other way its really limited dynamical and even technology is step above, platform is already old.
If a company uses youtube influencer advertising, then its Tesla. I suspect Chris also of being a bit "influenced" by Tesla, as he not a second mentioned the poor range when driving fast.
weizenobst müsli, Hey all cars are like that. Bugatti gets 40 miles per tank, 22 gallons going 250 mph. That’s because the wind resistance is squared the faster you go. Try holding your arm straight outside the window at 120mph, you can’t.
No it's not. The price of the Porsche is so high because it is a highly limited special edition for car collectors. The R isn't even built for straight lines, it's built for the track (the model S would obviously lose there). It's not like he picked the best petrol car for this, just one that is very traditional with good reputation (aka manual transmission and Porsche).
its like you didnt watch the video. Tesla, 130.000£. its fucking expensive for an electric vehicle. 911R is a special edition, and not the fastest Porche but expensive. Compare the Tesla to a AMG 63s and it will get trashed in a 1/2 mile.
My wife drives a Model S 75D and it is more than quick enough for average person. We just had the free upgrade installed that dropped the 0-60 times from 5.2 to 4.2 sec and it feels incredibly quick. I can't imagine 2.3 seconds. When she was shopping for a new car I pushed her towards the A6 and the S90 because they just seemed more luxurious and I thought that was what was most important to her. She chose the Tesla because she likes tech and she liked the simple design of the interior. She hated all of the buttons in the Audi's. I don't really like the giant screen because I can't find the item I need to touch without looking for more than a few seconds. Most things require two separate touches to select the item and then to perform the function. She drives it more so she is use to the way it works. Her favorite feature is getting home and plugging in without ever having to go to a gas station again. (And she works in the oil industry). It drives just fine for a large sedan. It's not a sports car but is plenty fun to drive. The Autopilot is pretty good now and is getting better with each over the air update. (It's still just a glorified cruise control but at some point it could be so much more.) I think Chris was a little harsh there at the end. I've never experienced any uneasiness in regards to wavy roads but maybe just a bit for passengers during hard surprise accelerations.
Yeah, I don't see why anyone pays the huge premium for the Tesla performance models when the 'non-performance' models still beat many (most?) sports cars 0-60. You're still paying at least £70,000 but given what you actually get for that, it seems like a decent investment for the upper-middle classes. Whereas paying almost double that price for the top-of-the-range seems like the kind of thing only a millionaire should do.
Wait a minute. The Tesla Model S 100D is not cheap, but you can buy 5 of them or so for one 911 R. Considering that despite the price difference, the Model S beats the 911 R on all counts except for the 150 mph test with experienced driver, that is quite interesting, isn't it ?
M Heisenberg the roadster 2020’s 1.9s is a conservative time. Zombie 222s aren’t in mass production. They won’t be as available as the roadster 2020 will be.
Rob Dekker what I find interesting is how people only look at the 0-60 time. There are infinitely more factors to consider when determining which is not only the faster, but better car.
@@TristanSilverwood Because it weighs 30 kg less? Oh come on, that's irrelevant. But battery voltage is VERY relevant. A charged Tesla will noticably beat an empty one. Same goes for the Porsche Taycan.
Esa Edvik No, they probably just went at it like any other car. And most other cars aren't that bothered whether the tank is full, half full or 1/3 full.
Rui Romao you can't have hit a a certain top speed before another car if the other car is gaining on you. How would it be gaining if you were going faster?
But the tesla didn't hit 150 first. When the tesla hit 150, the porche was already going faster than 150, hence it was gaining on the tesla. If the race was for distance, the tesla would have won, but the race was to a certain speed, which the porche hit first
This should have been tested on the motorway. One of the things that has taken me by total surprise is how insanely pleasant it is to overtake on the motorway when you have all of the power available right away.
It's a motorway / highway machine, it just chews up the miles and I'm literally more rested when i arrive at my destination, than when i entered the car. Autopilot works great on the motorway, you just sit there basically.
Love Chris Harris but honestly, wait for the Tesla Roadster. This isn't really a sports car. It's a 4 door family saloon that munches hypercars. The roaster is Tesla's sports car.
...but we just saw how 911R munched it and how that Tesla is embarrassingly struggled to reach 150mph and now it had to cook the batteries first and how they overcooked shorty after.
dash3dot Buddy the 911 has decades of engineering perfection behind it. Tesla has just began spreading it's wings. There was a time when electric cars even struggled to reach 60 mph. This Tesla car does 60 mph in 2.3 secs. Wait for what more stuff Elon Musk pulls out of his hat. Tesla is already making a lot of loud supercars irrelevant and they havn't even released a proper racing car yet. So I would choose my words carefully while judging a Tesla. They are doing revolutionary stuff.
dash3dot It's better to keep your mouth shut than making a stupid comment and letting the world know of your stupidity. So 100 years back...there were electric cars that could do 0-60 mph in 2.3 secs and with that big range?
*You say 0 to 150 mph is important in these days? Is it?* *I'm sure it is not and here is why:* Where in the world are you allowed to drive that fast? in Germany and nowhere else. what really matters in real life is 40 to 70 mph.
And my Chevy Bolt is the quickest-responding car on the road....unless i'm going for a gap alongside a Tesla. Stomp an electric cars and it is INSTANTLY going MUCH faster. There is NO LAG AT ALL. It's LAUGHABLY quicker than anything that has to inhale and then compress air with explosions.
What is the technical reason to drag race a Tesla with near empty battery? Philosophy that ICE car with empty tank runs faster? We can clearly see massive performance reduction notification at 3:28.
Why does it look more conventional? Rule number one of selling a product: If you’re selling something new (innovation/sci-fi) you have to make it familiar, if you’re selling something familiar you have to make it new
You can see launch mode being used in the race where Chris drives the 911. The Tesla preloads it's transmission slightly when you use launch and you can see it sort of hunker down.
SCE 2045 On a Quarter Mile. Thats it. The 911R is not the fastest car out there for that price with its N/A still beat the Tesla.. Edit; The first launch of that 911R was shamefull aswell.
non deju Sorry boy, most people live on a quarter mile and the electrics are gaining popularity in that part. Next Gen cars will be electric, no matter what anyone says or how good they are.
The crew got motion sickness because they were probably not looking out the windows. When range is no longer and issue there will be not reason not to drive an EV.
He doesn't want to like it, but in the end he doesn't have much bad to say. I see that as a stamp of approval. I would take the Porsche, but if you offered me the Tesla or a M5, I'd go Tesla. If Tesla survives, they are going to do some batshit crazy stuff in the next 10 to 20 years. Our world is about to change. Remember the industrial revolution? The tech revolution is just getting going.
I agree, I, like Chris, don't want to like the Tesla, even the new Roadster. I definitely have a lot of admiration and respect for what Elon and Tesla have been able to achieve especially in the short amount of time they've been making cars. All that said, it will be a cold day in hell before I take a Tesla Model S even this top of the range 100D over something like a Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadrifoglio that has so much lively character, almost the exact opposite of this Model S. Or the 911 R featured in this test or a Ferrari 488 GTO over the new Roadster. Sure the Roadster will wipe the floor with even a LaFerrari or Bugatti Chiron but the experience will be drama free in the worst way possible and humans love drama especially when going that fast.
Tesla did not make any revolution. They just made an electric muscle car. Oversized engine, everything else made out of the cheapest materials possible. No quality control in the factory, dreadful reliability, no real world testing before production. Over a 100k car still has no leather seats but some cheap plastic imitation. That's because electric drivetrain is ridiculously expensive, batteries are still very inefficient way to store energy.
Which part? The fact that the drivetrain is 50% of the car's total weight? Or that there's no piece of leather in a $100k vehicle? Or that Tesla hit rock bottom in reliability reports?
The Tesla had a low battery state of charge for high speed runs?. I can't believe car enthusiasts don't understand the fastest cars and best cars will be electric.
Super -sim fastest, sure they will. Best, not by a long shot. Besides ludicrous acceleration and amazing cargo space, there's nothing nice about driving a tesla. I still think hot hatches are better cars than 90% of the auto market. TBH if tesla or any other car company develops an electric car that sounds like the DS Virgin Formula E car, along with its 5 speed manual gearbox, and makes it available for the street I will buy one. Until then I'll stay with what I have
Why does low battery matter? That's a negative for electric cars that they have worse performance with a lower charge. If you can come up with negatives for ICE we should be allowed to come up with negatives for electric cars.
There is a white one of these lives around the corner from me and I have to say everytime I see it I am captivated by how it oozes charisma. And I am a petrol head but if cost was no issue would choose one over most cars especially after this review 👍
It certainly would be interesting to see how poorly it performs and how quickly it overeats. Top Gear couldn't or wouldn't do it again after the controversial Tesla roadster video.
I'm so impressed with the Spaceballs Easter egg for activating ludicrous mode. With the yes or no phrased in a way Dark Helmet or Evil Colonel Sandurz would say, but I wonder if there's some other hidden bit that might make the screen turn plaid like in the movie once they make it to ludicrous speed?
Whatever happened to liking both cars? Electric power is likely to become the most common way to get around in the next 30 - 50 years, but that doesn't mean all internal combustion cars will be destroyed. Cars beat horses for basic transportation, but horses are still around and enjoyed by enthusiasts. I expect the same to happen with cars.
Dylan, I'm with you. I like options. I'm for ICE and for electrics in all flavors. ICE cars powered by CNG or hydrogen may make it tough for EVs to garner market share. There's plenty of room for all engine types that deliver real world value. The anti-ICE folks are living in their own echo-chamber bias loops if they believe it's an either or proposition.
yea i mean if a 4-door sedan can only beat a 2-door super(expensive)car from 0-120mph, that's no good. especially given that the UK which is TopGear's home has a max speed limit of 70mph, so all those lamborghini's and porsche's will just keep overtaking you at 120mph. /sarcasm
Krzysztof Dolecki new top gear is terrible because leblanc cant talk to a camera and harris can drive and do a report but only in a magazine his 'live' presence his terrible . Gave 1st season an open mind chance but its just unwatchable with him im afraid
Yes, Top Gear is totally new show, we have to accept that. It will be different because the trio dynamic is different. If you want the "old" Top Gear, watch The Grand Tour.
We should keep in mind that the model S is supposed to be a normal car with some fun perks. It is much cheaper to run than a petrol car and if you really do many miles a year, it is actually really cheap, because electrical engines require very little maintenance.
3:27 Chris showing that Tesla was racing at nearly empty battery, only 68 miles of range left. Top Gear took the worst possible performance condition of the Tesla, and it still soundly beat the Porsche to 150 mph. LOL, Top Gear couldn't even make the Tesla lose for trying!
Which again makes it more favorable for the Porsche, which STILL lost to the Tesla to 100 mph. A fully charged P100D would SLAUGHTER the Porsche to 150 MPH.
Chris was almost airborne at 150mph. The guy was like literally paddle shifting with the traditional stick gear in the 911 R, beating Tesla at the last. The guy is a legend! I mean the Tesla is always at the first gear (or none), Chris was changing gears many times like speed multiplier to beat Tesla at the end.
The Porsche got let off by them not doing a rolling start, accelerating from say 40mph. The Tesla acceleration is instant and brutal from any speed. There are no gears or turbo lag to confuse things, it feels like someone has shunted you from the back the second you floor the pedal. Absolutely awesome. Also, the jibe about the battery warming up is unfair, the car clearly hadn't been run before. Would you jump in an ICE car for example an AMG Merc and do a race start when the engine and gearbox was cold?NO. Would it even let you? NO.
antharding instant and brutal acceleration but emotionless and souless. Doesn't even come close to having a character sound handling and fun to drive feel of an amg.
I agree. It's sadly kind of in a "who cares" category for people that enjoy real/actual driving, which means you want to feel connected to the road, which, the Tesla does the opposite of, however, it's trying to mask all of that by giving people the bragging rights in one and only one aspect of driving: Acceleration. Some of us like the feedback a vehicle gives us, some of us like the windows down, the engine and exhaust exerlieration at high rpms pulling you around a turn. The Tesla just seems like it mutes everything, like wearing a condom behind the wheel, but it's the best kind? Personally if I was going to waste $120k on a vehicle at all (which is stupid really), it would be a Porsche all day long, and lastly: Nothing makes me happier than destroying the yawn fest lovers in Teslas by playing my bass music as loud as possible next to them at stoplights, even better than the prius drivers because it's really the YUPPIE "checklist" vehicle that mindless people gravitate towards because it's the flavor of the week, and that's the issue really: Mindless consumerism / checklist lives. No thanks. I'll take a slower more fun to drive car, just like a slightly less good looking girl that's much better in bed than the checklist hot blond.
Juan Carlos Damonte Except it doesn't. They had to do their usual cheat & lie to get the result they wanted. In a fair race the Porsche will never, ever pass the Tesla until after the Tesla tops out. Fact.
On the 'drag race' the battery state of charge was pretty low. I didn't see what the power meter on the left was showing but in my #p100d with 80% plus of battery power I have seen over 550KW which is 740Bhp. I think the suspension issue on the windy road was the auto levelling air suspension, I have two kids and a wife who get travel sick easily and they've never complained. Having said that I don't drive on twisties with them in at the same speed as in this video, on the motorway, peage etc it is a rocket ship with no feeling of illness. I love the minimalist interior and the outside is just beautiful, the rear 1/4 reminds me of an Aston Martin and I just love the whole thing. It doesn't feel €180,000 inside but the whole package is fabulous and it turns heads every minute :)
I'm not in a position to either buy or to lease a Model S but I did take a test drive in 2015 out of pure curiosity. This model offered was a P85+ single motor. Very impressive piece of machinery. Effortless torque at any speed. Mid range shove is significantly greater than a BMW 535d which itself is no slouch. The P100D must be utterly sensationally rapid. The 17" screen looks far better in person than it pictures. Apart from a few detail finishes it's hard to get your head around the fact that Tesla Motors hasn't been building high performance luxury cars for a few decades.
@Ron Samba The Tesla isn't any "greener" than the Porsche. Just because it doesn't drink gasoline when driving doesn't mean it's more green. There's FAR more pollution in making an electric car over an ICE car. And *most* of the power for charging an electric car comes from polluting power stations. For now in 2019, and maybe a few years onward, the ICE is greener. Not forever though.
@@ktfjulien SortaAnonymous Alex is right. Batteries are so expensive because it takes massive lot of cheap dirty energy to produce from mine to finished product.
Funny al those opinions. To add one from an owner perspective. Buying a tesla is expensive. Driving one is not. Buying a equivalent gas car will offer more options as it has been there for aged yet it will be expensive also and even more expensive to drive. After 73k km’s I see a great gap in comfort and fuel technology to close but it is a great step forwards.
The autopilot is safe, but the point is that it becomes more safe with every software update. If one car makes a mistake every car has that flaw patched. This is not true for human drivers. Human drivers get tired and distracted, the autopilot doesn’t. This is not a gimmick. It it the opposite of a gimmick. Just wait until all cars are automatic and human drivers is illegal for being too dangerous.
"Just a 0-120 machine"
Yes Chris, because we're always driving around at 120mph plus on public roads...
I agree bro...who the hell is ever gonna be going faster than that on any public road? the tesla smokes anything in the range of speed that any Sane human being would approach.
Watch what happens when the roadster comes out
@Jonas Jonaitis Also almost as expensive as the Porsche 991 GT3 RS.
Same to you Jonas, keep off the Tesla channels, I kill trolls for fun.
the most interesting thing about this video is what a difference the driver makes when drag racing
Actually, the battery was almost flat. 3:34.
@@PyroVesten That was most likely recorded after the race as you see no camera aimed at the dash when you see chris in view, also the acceleration Chris is describing; 130...140... is way faster than what the dash-aimed camera shows

"what a difference"? Yeah, if the other guy doesn't press the pedal that will make a difference too.

@Robert Blackford Most P100D owners could care less about the environment....

Qwerty Qwerty I do like the new GT show but Harris reminds me of when Top Gear was consumer advice with Tiff and Quintin used to do it.

Didn't spot the cluster, but suspected it was a battery protection matter. No different to a phone, light or anything else.

Francis Galiegue well taking a naturally aspired MANUAL Porsche 911 isn't fair at all, wouldn't you think ? The 911R as the R suggests is a car for racing and not made for drag strips at all, consider that.
If you can use a smart phone, you can surely use the Tesla's screen.
David Hill it's not moot if it matters to buyers
I love how people get all worked up about Teslas racing supercars. You guys do realize that the Model S is not meant for racing? It's a luxury electric car that happens to be able to run like hell because of its great engineering. You wanted racing cars, Musk is giving you racing cars. The new Roadster will demolish every car ever made.
Absolutely a great point. I wish I said that !!!
Well said.
LOL😂😂😂 These guys will be in tears when the Roadster come out.
75% of people can't afford most high performance cars.

Skyler Blizard 918 has a faster Nurburgring lap time.
Brent Anthony yeah ,it also is awd and electric so it produces max torque instantly. It loses power at the higher rpms where the "conventional" petrol cars destroy it. 125mph is absolutely pathetic for having 500-700hp or so. A 90's Corolla can do that.
Brent Anthony it can do like two rides on 0-120 before 10min circles for cooling.

It's not really the suspension, but the traction control that causes the shaking.
What he was pointing out with this is, that the Tesla is not built for top speed.

This kind of reminds me of when the old top gear reviewed the Camaro, they had it up against some Mercedes that cost 3 or 4 times as much.
It was an E63, which was 1,5 times as expensive (48 thousand vs 72 thousand) but Richard said "it is twice the car" because have the same engine size (6.2 litre) but it was faster, used less fuel, much more practical and better built. That was slightly different
David García in america you could get a Camaro for $30k, it was a stupid comparison and nobody price shops the two. Do you think anyone went damn I was gonna get the Camaro but I’m gonna spring for the merc now?

Krytern UK it still beat the 911 all the way to 150mph with almost no charge in the battery. What a bunch of losers!
alkhan2
Actually it lost at 111mph.
No matter. The new Tesla Roadster will do 0-250 quicker than anything else. Even with a hundred year headstart ICE can't win.
That depends on how much progress Panasonic has made in increasing the energy density of their batteries.

It happened not the first time and top gears one of the main sponsors are Shell

omg. you are racing the car at low charge. it's a lottt slower when the battery is less 30% and it seems like you're doing it when it is under 20%.
"omg. you are racing the car at low charge. it's a lottt slower when the battery is less 30%"
That's funny because you can do that all day in the Porsche and it will go the same speed every time.
**Meanwhile, motorheads are complaining how it's unfair that electric motors have instant torque lol** Guess what that's the reality of the situation then
and in reality you only care about 0-60 not 0-150 or 200, unless you live in Germany. In everyday driving, even a non-performance tesla can feel quicker than the porsche cuz everything is instant. you just have to drive one for a while to understand.
"Annnnd, the family car still beats the porsche track car 0-60 when the battery is below 20%. "
...because it's AWD and the porsche is RWD. 0-60 is a measurement of traction, not speed or power. And the reality still hasn't changed - the Tesla loses power the lower its charge level gets. That's a fact and not up for debate. The Porsche does not lose power as its fuel tank gets lower. Also a fact that is not up for debate.
"and in reality you only care about 0-60 not 0-150 or 200"
In reality, the Tesla can't handle for shit, and handling is what the 911R is specifically built do to.
"In everyday driving, even a non-performance tesla can feel quicker than the porsche"
And you still have all the disadvantages of electric, i.e. less range, waning power as the charge gets low, and extremely long charge times. Not to mention ridiculous weight and terrible handling.
"you just have to drive one for a while to understand."
I drive a 700 HP CTS-V that can easily out-accelerate a P90D.

Super car aficionados aren't the one's forking out the money for Model S for the most part.
so youre honestly gonna argue that a 180k$ car is an everyday family car? Lol ok
Dan Detweiler And yet, the talk is all about the performance. Again, that talk is what they prefaced in this review and what they reviewed.
But again, I say that the "talk" isn't what is buying the cars, nor is it the target market for the car. Apples to apples...
If you repeated that run at full charge the 911R would lose by an aircraft carrier length.
wow. our future transportation looks so complicated.
I agree with u 100 percent. Top Gear has no idea about electric car in general. Let alone on how to maximize Tesla performance.
Wan, it's "complicated" if you want every bit of power out of it. Same with most hypercars etc. They all have launch modes etc., some even have double keys for max speed.

1) The Porsche is much more expensive
2) The Porsche is lighter and 2 seats.
3) This Tesla car is a SEDAN 4 Door
4) Teslas price is like a third of the price
5) Porsche has been building cars with IC engines for 87 years and, in their light weight high-end icon of a sports car, they can barely keep up with. Tesla is a new-ish company
6) No pollution
Tesla all the way
1) that Porsche is one of the slowest 911’s available in recent history
2) the Tesla is slower around corners than its competitors like the Audi RS7, the Panama turbo, the BMW M5 and the E63 AMG.
4) all said competitors are family cars with the Audi, Porsche and E63 having estate/break alternatives (namely the RS6, the panamera sport turismo and the E63 wagon)
5) Tesla fanboys like to have it both ways, invoking the age of other companies as an excuse to refuse comparison when Tesla is inferior in some aspects, but also as an argument for comparison when Tesla does something better. That’s not how it works.
6) lithium, fossil electricity. Even if it pollutes less than ICE cars (which is debatable), it still pollutes.

War and War in case you live anywhere in the world that isnt America (the vast majority of people)

What? It's a family sized sedan vs a sports car. This video is idiotic.
plus: add a gearbox to the tesla and the porsche wont be able to catch up.
@@drkastenbrot You dont need a gearbox with electric car
@@snesko97 yes and no - for normal driving, the rpm range (and flat torque curve) of an electric motor is far superior to what an ICE can do. However, at high electric motor rpm, the power losses become quite significant, which is why they get overtaken by traditional sports cars.
Simply add a gearbox (two or three gears would probably be enough) and you get a flattened power curve even at very high speeds, crushing anything an ICE can do.
A family sedan that has a price range of 150k USD and near 800 HP with near 1000 NM of torque. Yeah, definitely sounds like a "Family Vehicle" to me. More like Performance Sedan that is built to do well on 1/4 Mile races. And that's it. Only that short straight line drag races. You can't even track it without it going in to limp mode.
He wants to love this car so much. But somebody is telling him to tone it down.
Well a gas car is always fast. If it's at 20percent fuel or not. If Tesla can't guarantee this they lost anyway.
ThePhiltastic no, actually, the less fuel you have, the faster you become.
Electricity, btw, means nothing in terms of weight.

Hi all I'm saying
it should be Tesla Model S P100D VS Porsche Panamera
Ord!nary Guy no....... vs 911 turbo s
I think the whole point of the drag race was something as digital as possible (Tesla) vs something as analog as possible (manual 911).
I don't think the Panamera comes with a stick shift.
Ord!nary Guy
Agree 100%.
A true Gasoline vs Electricity test you know? i guess that wasnt what they were going for here
Ord!nary Guy no what about Tesla Roadster vs Porsche Panemera
He’s trying so hard to put the Tesla down. It’s not a bloody sports car.
Well, it's "top GEAR". The whole ICEV world hates Tesla.

Maybe not Tesla specifically, but alternative fuel cars for sure.

(It's still just a glorified cruise control but at some point it could be so much more.)
I think Chris was a little harsh there at the end.
Also, that Tesla has almost 300hp more than the 911

Point of contention: if the Porsche is gaining when you hit 150, then you weren't the "first to 150".
If you hit 150 before the Porsche, it doesn't matter if it's gaining, you reached there first.
But both are awesome cars in their segment.
Rui Romao you can't have hit a a certain top speed before another car if the other car is gaining on you. How would it be gaining if you were going faster?
But the tesla didn't hit 150 first. When the tesla hit 150, the porche was already going faster than 150, hence it was gaining on the tesla. If the race was for distance, the tesla would have won, but the race was to a certain speed, which the porche hit first
Came here to say this
Also the Tesla was low and the battery charge , the car is much slower with less than 50% of charge.

That's because electric drivetrain is ridiculously expensive, batteries are still very inefficient way to store energy.
sic22l wow most of wat you just wrote is false . maybe you should do some reading.

But then Chris would have every Tesla fanboy at his door with pitchforks. And I like Chris.
Only the Roadster 2 can reach plaid speeds.

Would still have it over fossils!

A Tesla is not a soulless car matter of fact no car is soulless.
No thanks. I'll take a slower more fun to drive car, just like a slightly less good looking girl that's much better in bed than the checklist hot blond.
antharding That's wrong. At higher speed the Porsche accelerates faster, that's why it reach 135 mph in less time.
Juan Carlos Damonte Except it doesn't. They had to do their usual cheat & lie to get the result they wanted. In a fair race the Porsche will never, ever pass the Tesla until after the Tesla tops out. Fact.
That drag race where Chris reeled the Tesla in essentially proves that Chris is one HELL of a driver
Apart from a few detail finishes it's hard to get your head around the fact that Tesla Motors hasn't been building high performance luxury cars for a few decades.
you can tell he's trying not to like but he can't help it

He prefers the 911. Who wants to drive a laptop on wheels? Nerds.
Not forever though.

is right. Batteries are so expensive because it takes massive lot of cheap dirty energy to produce from mine to finished product.
boy that battery was really low it was showing red. I think Top Gear was trying to do a repeat of the Tesla running out of juice again.
Try as they might...
I like how its being reviewed like a normal car should be but still, the autopilot feature hasnt been reviewed :((
c0rsaire92 not enabled in the U.K. as not legal. Only the basic adaptive cruise control and follow the leader in traffic jams is enabled.
Why would you review a feature that crashes you into a lorry? Who even wants that?
This isn't a smartphone review, this is a car review, how it drives is the primary reason for the review, not what gimmick features it's got.
3:27 There's an exclamation on the dash stating you don't have full power unless you're over 50% charge and you still beat the Porsche to 150mph
