The latvian referee at the beginning is one of the best in the world. I've never seen him make a bad call. Very accurate with his calls and he doesn't need 5 hours to set guys up

I think he's just extremely involved/focused in the competition. It doesn't seem out of place or over-done to me. It's not a chess tournament!

Competition is so stacked in the east, and this is only the youth tournament. Too bad there are virtually no good, under 21 arm wrestlers in the US. It's popularity here is limited to an older crowd.

Yes you can look at ref, alot of people who rely on speed do it. And as for the shoulders. Usually the ref pays more attention to the hands. So they will adjust the shoulder first and then the hands second. Then they say go last. That is why there is a small time for the competitor to move the shoulders a little bit ( but not alot, they won't allow it)

School boy is great. I would like to see him get into a battle. It seems as soon as his opponent gets an advantage he seems to give the pin. Maybe endurance training? The match on the thumbnail, schoolboy stopped him easily when his opponent thought he had the win. Maybe he is saving his strength or tendons but I’ve always noticed this and wondered if he stayed in some matches maybe he could pull the win out.
Exactly he doesn't even fight for fair/equal position let alone a better position.
This is also connected to the style for tournament. Just on long exhausting fight and it could be over
