Hey Paul, I've been watching your videos since I was seven, when my professional engineer dad showed it to me to make me laugh. I watched your videos over and over, and laughed my head off. I moved on, thinking myself too old, now in middle school, silly cat videos weren't for me anymore. Then, in May, our beloved family cat Cider died at 18 of a seizure. I cried, a lot. I remembered your videos, and re watched them all, and felt happy for the first time in a while. Now, we have two new kitties, Tillie and Dinah, and I'm once again watching your videos, and my worries about exams and pandemics are melting away. Thanks, for making timeless, happy, fun videos. You make me smile on very sad days, and your love for cats shines through the screen to all of us humans.

When I'm busy on my laptop and one meddlesome cat keeps trying to head butt my hand for petting, I have resorted to "corporal cuddling". Annoyed cat leaves. Problem solved.

I use this video each semester in my Public Speaking class. I show students how you can make a speech/presentation enjoyable and new; as well as hitting on Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence Theory (to help people learn and grab their attention). Love this video and so do my students...even the ones who claim they hate cats...!

Are you kidding? I can't tell you how much angst people (even engineers) feel over punishing cats; mostly due to the language barrier preventing positive or negative reinforcement feedback on where the limits should lie. Corporal Cuddling has served me well since I first saw this video 9 years ago. I was delighted and grateful to stumble across this old chestnut today. Thank you!

xlxfjh Bearing in mind tuna as an occasional treat, I don't see the harm in its offering, much like a person eating a piece of chocolate. The dry kibble food mass-produced and fed to our cats is no glorious cornucopia of nutrition, itself. I appreciate your comment and will research into this more deeply. =)
xlxfjh Go back and read the article again. It says that tuna should not be the SOLE food given to your cat. It is OK as a treat but not as their main diet. Tuna is useful for 1. deciding how sick your cat is. If they won't eat tuna time to take them to the vet 2. tuna, like a spoonful of sugar, helps medicines go down.

I still love this video 12 years later. Corporal cuddling and cat yodelling have been a staple in my cats' lives, unfortunately for them.
So, here I am again, watching cat videos while I'm suppose to be working. This is absolutely 1 of my favorite cat videos ever. I saw it years ago, figured I'd check it out again and it still tickles me. I had to cover my mouth so people in the office wouldn't hear me cracking up because I lost it at "corporal cuddling and cat yodeling". I also love the "I'm not paying attention to you game". Very good stuff ;-)
Glad you enjoy it after all these years. I made it for a film festival in Australia back in 2008. They rejected it so I put it on RUclips. I figured it was a crappy video. Then a few months later it blew up all over the internet. I was amazed. Thanks for watching!

Yeah that is for sure. I've been trying to think of some cute video we could put out - isolation/quarantine with cats. Something fun to ease all the pain. The inspiration just isn't there. I don't know how to do something funny but not insensitive while literally thousands of people die every day.
It's a tricky one for sure, but I think by now, a lot of us gave gotten used to a very different lifestyle, therefore lightheartedness won't be taken as tastelessness!
I give my cats tuna, or canned chicken meat every national holiday. After all, they are entitled to share in the celebrations, too.
This video never stops being funny to me. I can tell y'all have been owned by cats for years, like me. My personal favorites are floral arrangement regurgitation, and corporal cuddling.
Still gut-bustingly funny after all these years. It's the deadpan delivery that does me in each time.

Your essay does not include Hairy Melvin's Law of Cat Servitude, which postulates that it takes three cats before you can call a single woman a cat lady, with an additional cat required for each additional single woman to maintain household cat lady status.
For men, one cat can be subtracted. Therefore, a single male or single engineer only requires two cats and two single males and/or engineers living in the same household would require three cats minimum. If these conditions are met then they may be referred to as cat ladies.
Wow, I've been a cat lady since 2001, good to know. Had one stretch of a few months with only 2, but that was quickly remedied (there is always one who needs a home).
To your last sentence, cat ownership proves that gender is fluid. The debate is over, settled. They are truly amazing creatures

I've been a follower from the start, and I'm still crying with laughter when I watch your videos!! Hubby and I just watched this again - I think last time we watched it, we still had only two cats; we are now "those people" and have seven LOL. CAts are the best creatures on the planet and life without them would be possible, but meaningless!!

Great vid. i admit im biased- got 11 cats (rescues) but they allowed me to live with them 4 years, so i trained all to eat with and live with with my 4 dogs...yes i was the Crazy Cat Lady-

Corporal cuddling! lol! I used to use that technique with my Susie when she'd annoy me. That ended any association with me for awhile :)

We use corporal cuddles for our 3yr old. It works better than anything else.
And as a professional musician, I've used cat yodeling in pieces before.

Wow, once again social media proves I'm not the only freak on the planet. Love your understanding of cats, and your sense of humor. We do yodeling in my home too. Also, my cats drive their boxes across the room and get points for hitting one another. Their car-boxes also have reverse warning beepers. Some of my more adventurous kitties will fly their cardboard scratchers and dive bomb each other - the engines on these 'jets' sound really cool!

I SO loved this video! I wonder if there is a method to find cat guys out there in space. I have not been successful so far, so I've decided to go Crazy Cat Lady on the world! I now have 10 cats.. and a small canine.. And now I really don't have time or space for a cat guy in my life. Maybe if he's small.. and kind.. ;)

Hey! I loved your informative, nicely engineered video presentation. I laughed so hard that, not realizing my bladder was so full, I had to do my 'funny' walk to make it to the rest room. The yodeling was good. I have watched many U-tube feline videos and I'm often disheartened to see what some people, braying their hyena hilarity, do to their pets to get a "good" video to upload. It is awful to see owners tease their cats into falling or running into walls, or hissing frantically because they're frightened, especially kittens. Why do they think that's funny? It was good to see that you love and enjoy your kitty friends. I like your great sense of humor … and your cats.
I would try the cuddling control, but my cat here LOVES it. What is another good, humane deterrent to unwanted behavior, such as jumping on my chest at 3 A.M. While I'm fast asleep? ( Man that really hurts)
Play with the cat more so it is tired-the average cat sleeps 19 hours a day, but when it is awake, they want attention and to play. If they do not receive this, they will do it on their terms-especially when they are younger :-)

All this time I thought I was the only one who does corporeal cuddling, i.e. hugging, kissing, and basically annoying them a bit! This technique works wonders with my furry lovers who keep demanding a lot of attention and petting even when they've already gotten plenty, and they all still love and annoy me just as much!

Not wanting to bring anyone down, but I have to tell everyone, that when I feel down, I search for video's like this and being that this was and is the first such video with such kind of humor... I keep "finding it" over and over again when I am down. ( my daughter died when she was almost 30 years old and this is one video that helps bring me up and up and up! You two have no idea how much your humor touches others lives! I do not know how I would have dealt with all the stress and sadness in my life, if it were not for you two and your silly video's and YES they really do mean that much to me!

klusmanp An excellent observation. Geordi and Data (my two kitties) send their hellos! Especially Geordi, he has a habit of walking all over my phone and nearly sent you his own message in a language I am unable to decipher. I give him more leave to so, being blind and all. Plus, he is quite the poet. Data would also like to add some ire as he is the frequent recipient of corporeal cuddling.

When my cat adopted me, I was not aware of the scientific background. Thanks to this presentation I feel better prepared for my role as human in a cats life, fortunately she has enough humor, goodwill and patience with me and my clumsieness to accept me in her apartment. And sometimes she shares the tuna - with her male cat friend, she invites frequently, and me.

Came back again to this video because it never ceases to amuse me. Sadly, I have to report that my beautiful tuxedo cat is no longer with me, as she lost her battle with diabetes, but her place has been taken by a grumpy old lady and two very fluffy youngsters, so yeah, I'm one of those people with a bunch of cats.
One of those fluffy youngsters is a beautiful gentle giant that lost a battle against his little five-week-old brother
