It because they are normal people believe it or not, and on top of that the kitchens in the palace are all classical French based. Classical French cuisine is very “basic” when it comes to the ingredients used! It’s actually very interesting you should do some research into it! Mr McGrady seems very loyal to the Royal family, all the stories he tells are very warm and positive. We need more of this attitude in the world today!

The stories are extraordinary!!! You can literally feel it the way he said all those stories... beautiful ❤️ you gotta love this man)
This paired with Mrs Crocombe (English Heritage) would be an awesome duo!
Aww 🥰 wonderful stories of Princess Diana and the boys Thank you
It’s a shame that they didn’t at least acknowledge the cookbook he sent them and say thank you 🤔
Der a bunch of lizard people
dlxe That says a lot about them. 😒
@@Chillerveli Vampires actually, except for prince philip
Not sure why, but I got misty eyed watching this. Thank you.
“The boys are so different. William is deep like his father and Harry is just an airhead like me.” Why do I love this so much???
Darren Sir, you are simply brilliant in cooking and storytelling, I could listen to you all day.
I’m from the US but cottage pie is my favorite comfort food of all time too 😊 there’s just something about it
You sir is the most genuine and sincere chef person. Cheers to you and all the memories at the palace.
Nah in the middle of the night and getting hungry by this chef as always 😂😂😂
I would love to have him as a grandparent! I could listen to these stories for hours.
Love his stories just as comforting as the food 💜💜
This is beautiful. Food and memories together told to the audience like a story😍
Princess Diana was such a wonderful mother.
I am about to prepare "Cottage Pie" and searched out this particular chef for his recipe as I think it's the genuine-prize "Cottage Pie"! Thank you Royal Chef Darren McGrady!😊👑🏰🍲🍴⭐
I love how the ingredients are always things that regular people could get with relative ease.
This is only the second video I've watched of his, but the one where he makes the Queen's favorite dish is also pretty simple. So I agree with you completely.
It because they are normal people believe it or not, and on top of that the kitchens in the palace are all classical French based. Classical French cuisine is very “basic” when it comes to the ingredients used! It’s actually very interesting you should do some research into it! We had a whole course at culinary school on the royal palace
Mr McGrady seems very loyal to the Royal family, all the stories he tells are very warm and positive. We need more of this attitude in the world today!
Cottage pie is one of my favs too!
I could watch this gentleman all day. Well done Sir.
aww, thank you
If this series ends can you guys make another cooking series with him? Like maybe all his regional British dishes? There isn't much of that content and I'm very interested in UK food.
What a gift you were to the royal family. Such a talented and wonderful person .thank you for sharing your stories and recipes.
she was correct. harry is so much like her, so brave.she would be proud.
Food is love, just like Harry and William. Long live our princes love for each other, it goes on+on+ on.no other love than a brother, a special mother who born them
Wow. So not only have I been calling my favorite dish by the wrong name (Shephards instead of Cottage), but I also share it with the Princes. It really is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD. I'd eat it all the time if i could.
So lovely, Darren. Such a delicious delight for Prince William, and Prince Harry.
May we all have a delicious, happy, healthy and abundant joy this New Year ❤
xoxo

Only thing missing are petite peas between the beef and potatoes. I grew up on this dish. Wonderful
Then it's Shepard's pie. It's a versatile dish. You can add anything you'd like.
@@intotheabyssoftheunknown4479 thats what Mom called it, Sheppards Pie. This chef said that Sheppards Pie is made with lamb instead of beef tho. We call the beef, pea, potato, cheese version Sheppards Pie tho. :)
@@1erinjames I used an Irish recipe which called for a dark, stout beer like Guinness. It added flavor & darkened the gravy.
@@intotheabyssoftheunknown4479 hmmmm that sounds like it would be good! How was it?
@@1erinjames it was easy to prepare and awesome.
Beautiful pie!
Awww, Diana was a good mother💙
He is a very sweet man, and you can tell he really loves that family
Who else is now hungry that wasn’t 5 mins ago?
Never realized how much I wanted to watch videos about the favorite dishes of the royal family, but here I'm in deep at this point. Thanks, RUclips algorithm!
These Darren McGrady vids are somehow immensely satisfying.
I like hearing about William and Diana, and this guy is very interesting to watch. Just enjoying good food and good company. ❤️
The chef is so nice and wholesome
Refreshing to see a Chef asking what you want.. instead of telling you what you want
Who doesn't want to watch the former royal chef cook at 5am?😀😭
In America we have "Shepherd's Pie," much the same but with peas and carrots with the beef, or in between the beef & potato layers. I always loved it!
Shepherds Pie = Lamb
Cottage Pie = Beef
Shepherds... Herd sheep.
Ha, ha, you think that's American. Also, no peas...
God she loved them so much those pictures of her with them she is always beaming. Their boys look so much like them.
He made it look so effortless ❤️
I grate carrots and a swede into the meat along with the onions, then add some peas just before the mashed potato's
carrots and a what now
@@princessfunky222 aka turnip
WootTootZoot peas are an abomination
@@kaleidoscope_adventures thank you for the substitution, I didnt have a swedish man at home
So you call a turnip a swede. I wonder how the people of Sweden like that?
Why did this make me cry, its so sweet
