In chorus, she is saying that "Bir kedi alırım, sen de anneni çağır" , quick translation: "I shall own a cat, you should rather call your mom over". She refers there, cat is enough for me to replace you, however, your mother (and her love) can only replace me. That's the high level of make a crack on someone :D great song and performans! thanx

It is referring to classical couples' fallout where the guy copes by reconnecting with mother and she copes with a cat. Its a stereotype. It seems you projected your own feelings onto it. If the hypothetical relationship here was one which she would say "just a cat can replace you", then this song would not exist. Just how blind are you.

That guitar solo was not actually in the plan, but during the concert, the string of the classical guitar broke and that man professionally adjusted the other guitar in a few seconds and created such a masterpiece. For this reason, even Sertab Erener, who sang the song, turned back and looked at what was happening.

I remember once we went to see her concert hosted by Turkish National TV TRT and really there were so many technical problems she couldn't sing at all because of that. And at the end of the concert when people were leaving she asked if we want to stay a bit longer to listen to her and then the real concert began. That was live concert which was not recorded only for the people who stayed and listened to her. What I really admire about that night she didnt complain even a little bit about all those tehcnical problems. If there was another singer there most probably she would leave the stage while complaining. But she didn't whine and at the end she rewarded us with her magnificient voice and personality.

This song is about separation, probably after a long term relationship or marriage. I'm translating the lyrics for you if you are interested:
We are no longer innocent, nor devoid of lie
    let it happen
you take the pictures, seasons are already mine
    just let it happen
we can split and share the poems, friends, cities
let happen what will (or is supposed to) happen
we are no longer free, neither are our lives
    just let it happen
I'll leave, Istanbul can be yours
I'll put my head together that has been a crazy gurgling river (of thoughts)
I'll wipe my tears, so shall the city wipe my name
I'll get my hair cut, as a mere consolation
I'll keep a rose so I shall forget (it all) if it withers
I shall write a letter even heavier than your absence
I shall own a cat, you should rather call your mom over
Your hands shall remain in my mind, your love in my heart
    There's always frustration and grief
So just say it, let it happen

@@emreozkurt3467 emrecim bence sen çok yanlış dinlemişsin. Buradaki olsun, _"hmm ok olsun o zaman"_ diye tripli ya da _"ne yapalım, böyle işte, olsun madem"_ diye teslimiyetçi bir yerden gelmiyor. ece seçkin'in olsun şarkısında ama tam olarak senin bahsettiğin _"it's okay"_ anlamında olsun geçiyor. sertab şarkı boyunca neden ayrılmaları gerektiğini, zaten ilişkilerinin çoktan bittiğini, belki kendine belki de karşısındaki kişiye aptala anlatır gibi anlatarak _"hadi olsun, bağımız kopsun"_ diyor.

    • @Elethyl
      @Elethyl 3 года назад +2

@@melihkaraali1359so be it kullanımında bir ön argüman gerekiyor genellikle. başka birinin veya birilerinin argümanı, düşüncesi, teklifi, önerisi vb.

Hi, thanks for your video. You just came up in my feed, you share your honest opinion (and facial expressions haha :P) nice to see! It's nice that you mention the passion in Turkish music. I often think about this. The passion is rather more also in our Turkish language I've come around. It's a difficult language to learn grammatically, not only that, it's also the deeper meaning of words we have in for example music and poetry, but also just in daily conversation. I think this is born due to the history of Turkey and the mingling of very old languages like Persian, Arabic, old Turkish (some people will shoot me for making this comment but this is just my honest opinion). If we would translate the lyrics of this song to Dutch (My first/second (whatever you prefer) native language) or to English, it really wouldn't make sense because there is use of a lot of sayings. So that's why friends ask me if I could translate something to Dutch or English most of the times because I like to take the time to think about the right words to use to translate so that anyhow the meaning of a sentence really gets through, still remains hard because it really is a cultural thing also. Ok too many words, kinda passionate about Turkish culture, language and history as you can notice :).

Sertab is a 5 ft lady that turns into a giant on the stage. By the way in general I had been thinking she had a little bit of problem when it comes to making the audiance believe in the fact that she is really feeling what she is singing. However she changed my mind with this one. Maybe because this was soon after her long term relationship ending and the song is really about accepting the pain of that kind of departure from your better half.

We're now neither innocent nor afar from lies
    Let it, happen.
Take the pictures, seasons are already mine
    Come on, let it happen
May the poems be split, friends, towns
    Whatever that'll happen may happen.
Now on, neither we nor our lifetimes are free
    Come on, let it happen
I go, let Istanbul be yours
I go, let Istanbul be yours
I'll storm out, my head is a crazy river.
I'll wipe my tears, city wipes my name away.
I'll cut my hair and distract myself.
I'd let a rose dry, and forget, if it dries.
I'll write a letter, heavier than your absence.
I'll get a cat, and you can call your Mother
Your hands in my mind, your love in my heart
Always pain, always sadness, tell it and let it happen
We're now neither innocent nor afar from lies
    Let it, happen.
Take the pictures, seasons are already mine
    Come on, let it happen
I go, let Istanbul be yours
I go, let Istanbul be yours
I'll storm out, my head is a crazy river.
I'll wipe my tears, city wipes my name away.
