would never have expected the iris xe to perform better in warzone. I have an Inspiron 15 3520 with 512GB SSD, 8GB RAM, and want to do light gaming. I checked the Dell website and I can actually either get the intel UHD/xe driver or MX550 and MX350 package, unfortunately, I don't have any NVIDIA GPUs or hardware installed so I can't get the MX550 and MX350 driver package! bummer. I don't know that much about laptops, but this video was very informative! Thanks :)
mx550 bottlenecked by 2gb vram. otherwise, it seems it can easily provide 1.5 to 2 times better fps with 4gb vram than iris xe. if it can do so by consuming less power (like max 25W) than gtx 1650, then mx550 4gb vram may be the ideal choice for thin and light productivity laptops.

It depends too i think, if game need more than 2GB of VRAM, it'll be better on the iGPU. I tested it with an i3 on the laptop (UHD Xe G4) dual channel can do wonders on 1080p@@airmand7718

The ONLY difference between 1235u and 1255u in terms of cpu power is max turbo speed, i7 is 0.3GHz faster than i5 which is NEGLIGIBLE! i7's main selling point is more robust iGPU (96 vs 80 eus). i7 is only MAYBE an option only in terms of energy efficiency, not performance (and it still draws 28W vs 25W for mx550). Realistically you are only going for i7 if you want to save money. MX550 is still better for graphics, because while they may have simillar fps, frametime is way better on mx which you can see on the video as well by how jumpy the footage is on the left

In the benchmarks of the i5 1235u vs i7 1255u they have 25% more power in multicore performance and 20% on Iris Graphics.

The MX uses all the power for itself meanwhile the iris power is managed by the cpu considering that also other tasks are running in the background.

For gaming buy the one with the mx550, for web browsing/work buy the i7 one

i7 1255u with Iris better option. The i5 is really poor processor and the difference between Iris An Mx 550 is only 15% fps
