Excellent talk, Dr. Aran and congratulate you on your nature scientific report article! And I have a kind request that coud you please share your reference you have been using in your lecture in the description box for students like us to go more deeply into knowledge? And could you please make a presentation about your article for your subscribers, Arpan? Thank you so much and I wish you all the best in your career and your health!
Really nice, clear presentation with some great graphics and animations! As I understood it X-ALD is caused by a mutation in the X-linked Abcd1 gene, which encodes ALDP, a transporter protein that transports VLCFA into the peroxisome to be broken down. What is the ADL gene that you mentioned? I'd be interested to look into this more if you could provide a reference please. Thanks!
@@animatedbiologywitharpan, thank you for your reply! Apologies, I could not find the mention of the ADL gene in that reference or the association that a mutation in oxidase transportation into the peroxisome results in X-ALD. It mentions acyl-CoA oxidase transportation into the peroxisome is expected via an internal signal, but it seems that is only in relation to yeast cells and I am not sure how that is linked to X-ALD in humans? Thanks again!
