I've loved this song since I was a kid in the 70s. Whenever I was feeling down, this song picked me up. I love the fact that my childhood consisted of so many good, upbeat songs, always reminding me that things could get better.
Funny story, I was at a bar when this song was charting, but I had never heard it, even heard of it. Two guys approached me, and one said to me "If I said you have a beautiful body would you hold it against me." I guess I must've given the guys a look to kill. The buddy almost fell on the floor he was laughing so hard, and kept saying, "I told ya not to try it!" So the first guy asked if I was a fan of country music, because he swore it was the number one song on the charts! I wonder how many men tried that line, and wonder how often it worked! lol
Definitely "Old Hippie" and "If I Said You Have a Beautiful Body"... Aren't they the ones who sang the song that had the line about Country Girls have their names on the back of their belts? (I can't for the life of me remember the name of the song, though I loved it as a kid.)
“Can I be honest with you guys.” We watch for your honesty. Truth and being genuine is what we love about you both. Keep being you and tell us what you really feel.,
In the seventies, there was this trend toward what was called "country rock," but it wasn't thought of as a separate genre with its own subculture followers, just a popular style of music at the time that a popular musician or group might try out. Musicians known for it include the Eagles, the Doobie Brothers, the Byrds, Crosby Stills and Nash, Linda Ronstadt, the Bellamy Brothers, Orleans, and many others. It started at the end of the sixties and the earliest seventies as a blend of psychedelic rock and country that resulted in people wearing long hippie hair, flared jeans, and hippie shirts with cowboy hats, concho belts, and cowboy boots, called "cosmic cowboy" in places like Texas, where Willie Nelson was part of it. You're right, though - we didn't think in genres back then. People just played the influences that were in the air and didn't think about whether they were blending rock or country or R&B or soul or classical or jazz or disco or what.
The youth music market was an invention of the music industry and "genres" of youth music were invented as a way to market that swirl of sounds you aptly described.
For me it was just feelgood music back then. Poco was another feelgood band for me. A song called Pickin up the pieces. They were right before the Eagles. I think a couple of pocos members played with Eagles early on. We were so lucky. We appreciate all you do to play this music again, and seeing you 2 enjoy it also. Your kids are really cute. Have a happy.fun Halloween

1976 Country pop. According to Howard Bellamy, who is half of the Bellamy Brothers duo, it pays to be in the right place at the right time. This song is a prime example of that, and went on to become their biggest-selling single. Bellamy told us: "Around '74, we moved from Florida to L.A. to kind of pursue a career. We're from here in Central Florida in a little community called Darby - there is not much of a music scene here, to say the least. So we moved out there and met a lot of guys and met Neil Diamond's band, became good friends with his band. And one day Neil's drummer came over to our house and brought the demo of 'Let Your Love Flow,' and said, 'Hey, this sounds like something you guys would do.' So we went off to record that, and the rest is kind of history. It became not only the largest song of that year, it's become somewhere in the area of one of the largest songs ever, as far as being played. And it's become a standard, basically. I wish another one of those would come along." Love when they smile at each other 😊.

Hey guys. I've watched a few reaction videos over the years, but yours are the best. I know this because my partner loves watching your clips with me. Typically she is not interested in reaction vids, but she watches yours as avidly as I do, and as loving parents to 5 awesome kids we watched the whole pregnancy journey with interest. My partner fair peed herself watching poor Jay being hooked up to the contractions machine. While I watched on in nervous horror. We've had our last child 14 years ago, but I swear she would almost have another if only as an excuse to hook me up to that darned contraption. We rejoiced in the birthing of your cute little man, and feel honoured every day to feel the good vibe you all project out into the world. From here in New Zealand (Aotearoa), we wish more power to your good family (or in Maori - kia kaha kapai whanau). In closing, I have a triple-threat suggestion for female Friday when it gets close to Christmas, please react to Lindsay Sterling and Becky G doing "Christmas C'mon". It will cover 2 lovely ladies (for Female Friday) while being being season consistent also, being a Christmas celebration song. If not, no worries I'm sure you'll have lots of other cool stuff fit us to watch, as you do every day. May your days be filled with the same comfort and joy that you offer to others.
Great duet. Another great duet from back then was “Seals & Croft”. Their biggest hits were “Our House” and “Summer Breeze”. Their harmonies were very intricate and their way with words and creating a visual storyline were incredible. 👍👍❤️
The greatest thing about many of those songs is that they stand apart from time. They don't fit into a 70s sound or 80s sound or anything like that. They can be heard by anyone, or any time period and still be thought of as wonderful songs. I remember my mom and dad absolutely LOVING many of these songs, and they grew up on Swing and Be-bop, and the Big Bands of the 40s. And I'll tell ya somethin'....I loved those songs of my parent's generation, too!😎
Gonna hit you up with a suggestion early: The Bee Gees singing “Tragedy”. It was number one in 1979 for 2 weeks and the 16th best selling single of the year. You will get a fast song, great beat and chorus, perfect harmonies, and Barry’s falsetto at it’s best!
I was still at school when this came out! I can remember it playing in the shops as well as on the radio. Most certainly a feel good song. Now on the play list for work!
This soft, gentle, "easy listening" style was really popular during he 70s--especially the mid to late 70s. One example (recommended) would be "Lady" by The Little River Band. Another (also recommended) would be "Afternoon Delight" by Starland Vocal Band (featuring a then-unknown David Letterman.)

A post-hippy era country/pop tune that peaked #1 on the pop chart in May/June 1976. The perfect sunny smiley-faced song that came out at the perfect time. Post-Vietnam mid-'70s when America exhaled, left the turbulent '60s behind us and celebrated America's Bicentennial birthday in 1976. A great time to be a kid enjoying the outdoors. This song encapsulated those times.
I like the way this followed your "Change Is Gonna Come" video, in which you talked about the importance of people loving each other, and then you played this which tells us to let your love flow. It's like The Bellamy Brothers picked up where you left off at the end of the Cooke video.
Shared this very song on my TT today. On there, I strive to be a positive respite from the mostly grotesque stuff usually seen over there, done with quality that is nothing short of professional level. Anyhow, I have always loved this song & have wanted to share it for a long time, but the timing never seemed right (& as fellow content creators, you two know timing is everything in what we do.) Today, the timing was perfect. Maybe it's the Holiday Season being just around the corner. Maybe it's after the last four years of so much negativity, hate & division, we are beginning to come together, creating a bright, shining perspective that is a cool change & a breath of fresh air. Maybe it's a combination of both. But today, the timing became perfect. You guys are in for a real treat with this. 😊
oh you two..... you're going to make us all blush!!! I check out your channels every day. A lot of my days have been rescued by the joy and laughter in your videos and that means a lot. Thank you for every single day!
I’ve always loved this song. And yes it’s a good outdoorsy song. It’s on my mix tape from the early 80’s. When I needed 6 D batteries to play it around the campfire. Haha. Enjoy. Listen to Gatlin Brothers. All the gold in California. Harmony maximum x10!!!

The Bellamy Brothers, my all time heroes! I know them since almost 40 years and I still get goosebumps and start to sing along!
This is one of those feel good songs that you should listen to loudly!
This song brings back summer evenings on the block with friends in my childhood, while all the parents sat around in lawn chairs, grilling and drinking! Simpler times!!
Nothing better than being young and in love in the 70s listening to perfect music.
This song does pick you up. 🥰🥰🥰🥰. My 5 kids would sit in the back yard & we would eat lunch and dance & act silly to this one🤣🤣🤣🤣. ( Daniel Boone). Beautiful Sunday. Great times & memories 😢😢😢😢😢
Absolute great song! Loved it when it came out and still do!
They were a little country/folk/pop mix and were really followed more by country fans.
This is such a happy hippie road trip kind of song from the good old days… I love to vibe to this! Thanks for the memories!
Country Pop! One of the best summer songs! I loved listening to this on my radio when I was growing up!
This is that song for me. The minute I hear it I’m a little girl in the seventies riding in my dads truck singing along. It always makes me smile.
And I'll tell ya somethin'....I loved those songs of my parent's generation, too!😎
My favorite. Bellamy song - More of you .. Amber's going to love it
I haven’t heard this for ages 🥰
I know. This came out the year I graduated from high school and headed for basic training. Years ago, damn.
Same here... Radio was just so good back then.
Loved this! Good old Country Pop! You guys are awesome!
That might be their best song, it's certainly their most dynamic.
I was still at school when this came out! I can remember it playing in the shops as well as on the radio.
Most certainly a feel good song. Now on the play list for work!
Another duo that will fit in for Female Fridays is “The Indigo Girls - Closer to Fine”! You will enjoy it!!!!
Richard Bennet playing lead electric guitar on this, he played with Neil Diamond for years and now plays in Mark Knopflers(Dire Straits) solo band
This song makes me happy. From its release when I was 10. Every day was a sunny day with this song.
Three Dog Night " Never Been To Spain "
They had many great songs !
I think this should be your theme song. You are both all about the love of music, family and sharing love with all of us.
I've been watching your videos every day since you posted your In the Air Tonight reaction (Pre-Amber days) and your family is now a daily part of my life. I'm not much of a commenter on YT, but I'm so happy that your Channel is already over 150K subs in just 6 months! You're doing all the right things! Congrats and know you have over 100,000 people at least that love and appreciate what you are doing every single day, b/c of the good vibes, joy, and passion for music that you guys bring to our lives. You're building a great community and relationships to be proud of.
Have you did “SUMMER BREEZE” by SEALS AND CROFT?
I Love ❤️ that song!
YES!
Have you heard “I’ll play for you”? That’s there best song In my opinion.
@@Cherrytea558 Yes, but it’s not my favorite or anything. I can honestly say that I really enjoy their harmonies a whole lot, and they are extremely talented string artists.
@@Cherrytea558 I do however, really love “Diamond Girl”
Y’all are awesome and the reason I come to RUclips every day , to watch as y’all get to experience new to you songs that I grew up listening to and how you fall in love with the songs and remind me why I loved them . I just love y’all, your kids and the love y’all have for each other , there are people that have spent a lifetime and haven’t yet or never have experienced the love you and Jordan have for each other
Reminds me of my childhood. 70s and 80s greatest music ever!
YES!
This is a great song for your backyard retreat with your cigar and scotch but it's also a great mood setter for any backyard party.
The Bellamy Brothers were a country duo, but this one was a crossover pop hit for them...and was probably their biggest hit. Now, their biggest country hit was "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me) which I always thought it was a really cool play on words.
You guys are great. :)
LOL speaking of kids...you guys realize that most of these artists you're listening to now could be your children's Great (maybe even Great,Great) Grandparents...right? LOL
I have always loved this song. Makes me feel like I'm riding the roads in the Smokie Mountains. Just a great uplifting song.
This is a happy song.
This song always makes me smile and reminds me of summer (because it was released in the summer of '76). Such a positive message.
I believe this was a crossover pop hit. As the years progressed, they had success on the country charts. It straddles genre.
Shared this very song on my TT today.
On there, I strive to be a positive respite from the mostly grotesque stuff usually seen over there, done with quality that is nothing short of professional level.
Anyhow, I have always loved this song & have wanted to share it for a long time, but the timing never seemed right (& as fellow content creators, you two know timing is everything in what we do.)
Today, the timing was perfect.
Great song. I think you may like Wildfire. About a horse who breaks out of his stall one winter by Michael Murphy.
I love that song!
oh you two..... you're going to make us all blush!!! I check out your channels every day. A lot of my days have been rescued by the joy and laughter in your videos and that means a lot. Thank you for every single day!
2 other great Bellamy Brothers songs are "Redneck Girl" and "Reggae Cowboy" I think ya'll would really like them!
Once you open this box, it’s time to listen to “Don’t Pull Your Love” by Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Reynolds.
I’ve never been into “reaction videos”, but seeing the expression of pure joy on your faces listening to this incredible classic warms my heart. Your love of music is contagious! Love you guys!
This is one of those wonderful songs where you can't help smile when you here it come on the radio and you automatically tap your foot or nod your head as it plays.
Oh woow, haven't heard this for years!
I think John Paul Youngs song "yesterday's hero" is one you will enjoy.
Definitely a song for in the car, really lifts the spirits.
A few more gems from the '70s you might like are; "hello it's me" by Todd Rundgren, "brandy" by Looking glass, "strange way" by Firewall, "smoke from a distant fire" by the Sanford Townsend Band, and "diamond girl" and "summer breeze by Seals and Croft
Country, and these guys have dozens of smash hits!! They’re still touring and making music!!
Here in the uk this is part of the "yacht rock" genre of music, if you like it, you would 100% love Little River Band - Reminiscing, England Dan & John Ford Coley - Love is the Answer or I'd Really love to see you tonight, all 3 songs are right up your street Amber ❤️❤️
Yes!
I need to make a playlist with you for summer songs. ❤️
This is Country Pop. Back in those days music was super diverse. These days everything is mostly dominated by Hip Hop, Rap, Techno, pop and New age country ☺
Hip po rap techno sound the same to me
I lived in Germany back when this song came out in 1976, and you could NOT walk by a disco without hearing this song.
