Hey Steve not sure if you knew or not but there is a charge mode on those units. You hold the button on the board to force it into charge mode. I had a couple I accidentally over charged and discovered it.
@@th-wt5pn I found that the ones that don’t like them it’s for the reason they don’t understand them and don’t have the knowledge to successfully repair them…same goes for the similar GREE system
Got a new Bosch 4 ton with matched air handler and new ductwork last week. House has been beautiful ever since - sitting at 72F while it's 90F+ outside. My electric usage also dropped since I stopped using the window units (after the old Lennox unit died) which pleasantly surprised me.
Surprising they offer a PSC motor on current air handlers. First time I have seen a blower motor require a 20 uf cap. Man that duck work is awesome ! Lucky guy...
@@dwight.bennett I have found the "base" models in most anything tend to be the best value because they have the exact foundation/design/engineering as the higher end models, just less features and parts to go bad. I've been finding this out more and more and it helps when determining the best value when selecting an item.
Carry a spray bottle with soapy water to cool down the joint and cleans up the joint. Also get a bottle of Laco Cool Gel to spray the king valves and evaporator connections before soldering to stop heat transfer, good stuff.
Not sure u charged that right , u need to put condenser into charge mode till it ramps up to 66 mhz , 6-8 degrees , when it’s out of charge mode it will read 15-16 degrees of sub cooling
Hi Steve, great job!, however, how come you can't do the electrical work for the A/C units ?, seems that you have the expertise instead of having to hire an electrician and wait on them before you can finish the installation! In California, the HVAC guys/gals can get an electrical license to add to their HVAC license and do the electrical work as well
Liability would be the primary reason weather its a permit job or not. If your not licensed to do it and something happens the General Liability insurance gets pretty foggy. It isn't worth losing your insurance and nobody else will pick you up now your out if business to run 1 electric line. My younger years I did it all the time but things are different now
I had a Trane furnace and it only lasted 12 years. The heat exchanger developed a big crack (which I saw with my own eyes!) and then the motherboard went. At that point I decided to get rid of it.
A friend of mine has a Bosch 7yrs old last year A coil leaked this week inverter and board burned up so bad they had to replace the condenser unit. $7500 for repairs in 2yrs.
@josephgraham1065 If brazing is not done properly with nitrogen flowing, you can get cupric oxide which is a black soot inside the lineset. Mini splits don't use filters like split systems and the soot can create issues with the metering valves etc on the mini splits. So they use flares. Also, the history overseas of mini splits was geared towards homeowners/ non professionals doing the installs and not having the equipment to braze properly led to use of flare fittings.
The Tires Plus guys, fixed my front suspension today! I had a local guy replace a broken spring then springs(struts) in May, Turns out there were three nuts and bolts half on! He's right, I don't hear the clunking anymore! Good news day. 75 bucks!
You can’t go off looking at the 2 double pole 60A breakers to solely determine if it’s a 10-15-or 20kw electric heat kit. Pop the cover off of it, look at the heat kit. It should be labeled but if it’s not you can look at the front of the heat kit and simply count the sections or thermal overloads. 1 thermal overload per section and typically each section is ~5kw 1=5kw 2 =10kw 3= 15kw 4= 20kw Oh and the 2 breakers on the heat kit should already be set to run the blower motor also. Circuit #1 will run the blower, low voltage transformer and part of the backup heat. The 2nd circuit runs the remaining heat elements.
"I'd rather jump off the flippin roof!" LOL Next Level Steve!
😂😂😂😂
Yes that Was funny I agree though 😄

Nice install. The customer should be very happy.
"Wow! She must me a lookah then" 😂😂
Nice job Steve!! Congratulations on 200k subscribers 🎉
We have installed a few Bosch units and so far they have been pretty good units.
Been running a 5 ton Bosch heat pump for over a year. It has been excellent!
Nice job Steve as always happy 60th birthday Steve
Awesome install, Steve. Enjoy the installation process. Thank you.
Looks good! Highly suggest a surge protector for those units. It’ll save you some headache for sure.

You gotta put a surge protector on that disconnect, bosch requires it for warranty
guess thats a project for a day soon.
Another kick ass job Steve, the video was awesome and we can learn from it! Remain safe and keep them videos coming. ☝️✨️👍💥💢💯💫

Goodmans have 20uf caps
The base model of Bosch as a PSC blower motor, the 18 and 20 have ECM.

Excellent installation, nice heat pump base outside!
Them Bosch units are some real good stuff I do market refer in AZ an I’m gonna throw one on my roof in the fall for next season
Wow that thing runs quiet. Great install.

Mikey pipes will be proud. He put in a Bosch.
... and for 1/2 of Mikeys pipes New York price.
Mikey Pipes likes smoking pipe
Found this channel because @mikepipes just put out a video about this
I dig these extensive installs. Busy busy
That has got to be pricey job.
Steve you're the best!
Congrats on a well-deserved 200,000 subs 👍🏽
Holy smokes. Bosch..definitely good enough for this neighborhood
Just starting video - looking forward to finishing. Thx Steve!

He's not licensed for it but I agree, if he knows how to and its not getting filed then he could. I bet he had to file the job though.

Nice Bosch install! I have seen you installed a Goodman before due to a footprint issue for a Ruud
Bosch is awesome, pretty sure they’re based off of midea units, but hey, they’re great
Embrace the Technology Steve!!
So Bosch is making HVAC too. Forever I just saw Bosch power tools. Checked out my sisters new kitchen on the 4th and she had a new Bosch range.
It's really made by intertek. which has been doing it for a long ass time.
nice work Steve, looks good
Hey Steve I thought you didn’t use stabrite anymore?
I had a Trane furnace and it only lasted 12 years. The heat exchanger developed a big crack (which I saw with my own eyes!) and then the motherboard went. At that point I decided to get rid of it.
Never tried bosch. But i like the mini split fully ducted AHU unitd
Good job Steve as always
Congratulations on 200k subscribers
I’ve heard great things about those Bosch units

GREAT WORK STEVE! Thank you for sharing.
Hey Steve-- how many amps is that unit pulling?
Great job Steve !!!!! as usual...
another quality job done.
You will like the Bosch…check that amp draw after you finish and you will understand why
that bosh really looks like good equipment i have heard good things about them as well it will be interesting to see how well they hold up

Wow thats a NICE system!
O Shit Steve hittin the Bosch!!!!! Zack Psioda and Ralph Wolf approved!
When I saw the Bosch I thought it was Mikey pipes
"It's Me! Mikey "Fuckin" Pipes!"
Great job Steve.......
Just curious why are the line sets brazed or soldered on central ac units but mini split systems use flare connections? Same pressures arent they?

Great job Legend!👍🤘
Thank's steven
love your vogs 😀
That’s one high dollar disconnect switch mama
What system do you like
2.0 awesome Steve more electronics no you don't like that 😂 nice job Steve
Steve was that an inverter system?
It is.
Don’t forget to install a surge protector on the power line to these units. A power surge will destroy the sensitive electronics in these heat pumps.
GUNSLINGER FOR HIRE', thxs for sharing...
That outdoor Stainless Steel service disconnect cost more than the Bosch unit ... Must have fell of a truck ..LOL
Looks good, steve!
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again ya’ll. 👍👍
Great job
mike pipes is starting s--t again, i like your work and your prices
Steve Lav still lives in Mikey Pipes head rent free
If it fits, it ships! The GODZILLA work truck
Nice Bosch unit
Ok Mikey Pipes could learn a thing or two 😂
You should have put the low voltage wire by air handler in conduit to keep the rodents from chewing on the wires
Steve is the man go miss moly 😊
We all knew Mikey was going to have something to say about Steve installing a Bosch.
There both good plumbers different ways of doing things but yea no need to be throwing jabs at steve
Techs should study how you deal with the public .
Flippin made in china
Steve’s working hard on this one. Changing out that train system for a Chinese Bosch.
Hello Steve!
The ooold American Standard ya'll!!! She's a leaka mamma! 😅
Im still not bought on Bosch. My company installs them and the invertor boards go out.
are you using a quality surge protector on the units ? If so what brand / model ? Any issues with that 10 year Bosch warranty on the inverter board ?
Ohhh, he soldered that thing
Midea makes Bosch. They are very well built units.
