    I picked up a 65” G4 on Black Friday sale (thanks to your review) and installed it last night. It sits directly opposite to a large bright window yet even with the curtains open I see no reflections whatsoever. This thing is BRIGHT! My previous LED TV was unwatchable at the same spot. I’m in love. Best TV I’ve ever owned by far.

      Wish I would've researched tvs during black friday this year. I thought my LG C8 from 2018 was good (it's a few millimeters thick). But I just got a ps5 pro and realized that it doesn't support hdmi 2.1. So now im shopping for a new one and I think this is the one. How much did you pay for the 65 inch? That's the one I need. Thx

      @@mcseventy6 if you’re planning on using it with the PS5 Pro you are in for a treat! The standard PS5 is already enough to leave me speechless!
      I paid 3.5k (Australian dollars), down from 5.3k which is the usual retail price here. Definitely wait until Black Friday 2025 to buy one if you can - you’ll save a lot!

    Just wanted to say thanks for your coverage of the G4. Your glowing words on the G4 (along with reviews from other creators) helped me make the decision to get this TV. I went for the 83 and got it yesterday. It is insanely, mind-blowing good. I am way more impressed than I even thought it would be. Next year i am sure the G5 will be out. I only bought the LG G1 just 3 years ago and it was the best TV around. Every year so far afterwards it was LG G2(2022), G3(2023), now G4(2024). I have no doubt will see another update version next year and the year after that.
      Love my LG G1 and it has all the ports I need and I love the brilliant picture this TV overs! Until my LG G1 can't keep up with today's gaming, movies and bluetooth abilities I don't see myself rushing to go upgrading it anytime soon.
      I purchased this G1 because OLED is the best and they longevity and quality where nothing else comes close!

    Thanks for the review Andrew 👍 I'm still the proud owner of a 65" C9 and loved watching it every day since i got it,never had a issue with it up till a few days ago with a firmware update. The mongrels have take away fta tv on startup which is to say it no longer defaults to the tv tuner when you switch it on,you now get the homescreen from which you have to select live tv. 😡I have toyed with the idea of updating to the G series for a few years but never felt a compelling case till now to actually do it. The latest processor on the G4 really seems to have closed the gap with Sony to the point where there is no wrong answer between the two brands. I'm eyeing an upgrade to a 77" G4 if one of the retailers are in the mood to negotiate.

    Just got mine as an open box buy for $2500 at Best Buy. Verified Excellent by the Geek Squad but it came with abrasions on the screen that didn't affect the picture image. Regardless I initiated the return process and grabbed a Plus membership to get $200 off the current sale price of $2800 at Best Buy.
    This is my first new TV in 15 years and my previous one is still flawlessly working. So to say I was nervous switching from a Sony to LG is an Understatement 😂
    Anyways the replacement TV comes tomorrow. My son and I used the damaged one to set up the wall mount today and align everything with my new Sony STRAZ5000ES receiver. And my new Martin and Logan Center Channel.
    I'm definitely going to come back to this video to look at your settings as I do not like the brightness levels when testing the opening scene on Twister... The lightning flashes caused me to wince and almost gave sunspots in my vision. That's with Filmmaker mode activated. Also not a fan of any motion flow enhancements.

I actually bought a S95B a while back and returned it, tried an S95C and returned it too, yes it is brighter, it has 144Hz support, better colors, I did notice black crush probably because I am comparing it to my calibrated CX, but that aside, I never see a "night and day" difference so I can't really justifying an upgrade....I am missing something??

I have an even older C series and 90% of the plus point of this new TV are covered by mine, The only real difference is the brightness and the image 'repair' features which most purists don't use anyway. Oh, wait there a big difference but it us a plus for the older C TV's, it's responsive and smooth UI ; )

    G4 - just ordered a 65" unit. Going to be replacing a 50" Panasonic G10 plasma. I feel like I am in for a ride.

      Samsung doesn’t support Dolby Vision, so choose between the G4 or the Sony A95L depending on whether you care about gaming or just want to watch TV and movies

    Hi Andrew, excellent review and congratulations with your LG G4. LG always makes excellent (OLED) TV'S. In a couple of months this year, I will go for the 55 " inch because I don't have no more space on the wall. I have now a 46" inch Panasonic on the wall. Thanks for the review. Glenn

    Manufacturers should have a trade in old for new tv's. Don't know why not but to me it does sound silly not to as no one just changes tv's unless it's broken or there is an incentive. Good review thanks🙌

    Very good! Would using TV G4 55” with the current Apple TV 4K be detrimental or beneficial?

    • @little_fluffy_clouds
      @little_fluffy_clouds 5 месяцев назад +2

      You can use Apple TV with any TV, it is never detrimental. Having said that, webOS on the G4 has most streaming apps available anyway, such as Netflix, RUclips, Disney, Amazon Prime, Plex and Apple’s own TV+ app.

    Hi Andrew, about the picture settings , you mentioned that you’re using filmmaker mode base, but on the video it shows cinema home. Did you change it by any chance? I also noticed that clarity on the video shows at level 20. But the filmmaker mode level is 10 could you please clarify this? I’m assuming that the brightness states standard according to which format you are watching. Thanks for the great video!

    • @nachogeekts
      @nachogeekts 9 месяцев назад +1

      I think the content he was watching on that video was Dolby vision content which doesn’t have a filmmaker mode. Cinema home is only available on Dolby vision and hdr. I’m assuming he was referring to filmmaker mode when watching sdr content, it just so happens that he was watching Dolby vision when recording.

    After going back and forth between the G4 and the A95L, I purchased the 77” A95L. The A95L picture quality is breathtaking, up scaling is outstanding, and build quality can’t be matched. If you can afford this tv, just purchase it you can thank me later!

    120hz tvs are very difficult to find in the UK, unless you go for top models and are prepared to pay over 2K, but if I could get this TV, it would need to be in 55"

    Great review Andrew. I was wondering whether you had a chance to experience an IMAX enhanced movie with this TV set. I couldn't find anything anywhere about whether or not this tv fully supporting the IMAX enhanced content exploiting the metadata that may change the image settings as intended by the director. I know a sony bravia does it but was wondering if the LG panel does it at all or only change the image ratio without changing any other settings. THX

    I bought the 77" G4 on a discount which will be delivered within 2 weeks.
    Going to wallmount it. What thin 4k ultra high speed HDMI cables, do you reccommend to make the installation slim, just having the cable canal from the mid routing all the 4 HDMI cables to console,PC,Nvidia shield etc?

  • @sinbadthesailor87

    So one of the big sticking points for me and a lot of friends/relatives is that the LG OLEDs before the G4 had colors that looked really washed out and details were very much lost in darker areas of the screen. This was SUPER obvious in a campfire scene in the Harrison Ford period cowboy show on Apple TV - you couldn’t see anything besides the fire and faces. This wasn’t an issue with Sony’s A95L. Details in dark scenes is something almost no reviewer talks about - just “blacks are so black”. So how does the G4 stack up to the Sony OLED flagship in this regard? Looking to buy my first nice TV and this factor might sway me to get the A95L until I can see a G4 in person...
