I picked up a 65” G4 on Black Friday sale (thanks to your review) and installed it last night. @@Lewis-jn8ry It's not a big deal but it still makes a decent amount difference. 144hz feels smoother than 120hz and it's noticeable, at least for me (this is probably subjective). @Andrew how do you find the reflections compared to Sony Bravia 9? We have a similar bright room like yours with windows and sliding doors to both sides. We are torn between 65” LG G4 vs 75” Sony Bravia 9 which are both priced closely.
I'm about to purchase a 55" LG G4 on sale. I would like to go bigger but it's only going to be in a small room. I haven't purchased a new TV since my current LG that I got in 2012, so it should be a big step up in quality 😂

Hi, thanks for another great video. I have even larger windows behind the sofa and facing the TV, so I am considering getting the Samsung S95D. Are you planning to test it in your living room. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
Samsung doesn’t support Dolby Vision, so choose between the G4 or the Sony A95L depending on whether you care about gaming or just want to watch TV and movies
Hi Andrew, excellent review and congratulations with your LG G4. LG always makes excellent (OLED) TV'S. In a couple of months this year, I will go for the 55 " inch because I don't have no more space on the wall. I have now a 46" inch Panasonic on the wall. Thanks for the review. Glenn
LG-OLED55G46LS just bought it from currys shop in uk omg all the tvs on display but this tv blew everything out of the water it will be delivered on 29/05/2024 its overkill for my pc but we all have our hobbies
Manufacturers should have a trade in old for new tv's. Don't know why not but to me it does sound silly not to as no one just changes tv's unless it's broken or there is an incentive. Good review thanks🙌
Hi Andrew, fantastic review. In regard to your wall mount, does that extend outward at all so you have ease of access for cables? Doesn't look like it from the product page. Cheers!
Great review. Is there a nit measurement for the peak brightness of the 48inch model? I'm curious about using this as a monitor in an outdoor scenario.
You can use Apple TV with any TV, it is never detrimental. Having said that, webOS on the G4 has most streaming apps available anyway, such as Netflix, RUclips, Disney, Amazon Prime, Plex and Apple’s own TV+ app.
Hi Andrew, about the picture settings , you mentioned that you’re using filmmaker mode base, but on the video it shows cinema home. Did you change it by any chance? I also noticed that clarity on the video shows at level 20. But the filmmaker mode level is 10 could you please clarify this? I’m assuming that the brightness states standard according to which format you are watching. Thanks for the great video!
I think the content he was watching on that video was Dolby vision content which doesn’t have a filmmaker mode. Cinema home is only available on Dolby vision and hdr. I’m assuming he was referring to filmmaker mode when watching sdr content, it just so happens that he was watching Dolby vision when recording.
After going back and forth between the G4 and the A95L, I purchased the 77” A95L. The A95L picture quality is breathtaking, up scaling is outstanding, and build quality can’t be matched. If you can afford this tv, just purchase it you can thank me later!
Film Maker mode is pretty much identical across LG, Samsung and Sony. Got an S95C last year and getting refunded due to some recent issues so I get to enjoy doing the fun research and comparisons again this year with the new tech.
120hz tvs are very difficult to find in the UK, unless you go for top models and are prepared to pay over 2K, but if I could get this TV, it would need to be in 55"
My c3 had a strip burned out. It’s over on the left side so I can still use the TV but that’s why I’m buying a new TV a year and a half after buying the last TV… no one has done a review on the LG 99 class QNED mini led 8k tv. I’m interested in that the Bravia nine and the Samsung.
Great review Andrew. I was wondering whether you had a chance to experience an IMAX enhanced movie with this TV set. I couldn't find anything anywhere about whether or not this tv fully supporting the IMAX enhanced content exploiting the metadata that may change the image settings as intended by the director. I know a sony bravia does it but was wondering if the LG panel does it at all or only change the image ratio without changing any other settings. THX
I have a 65" LC C9. I'm moving to a new state in 2026 and I think I'll upgrade to the 84" *G4* when I do. I PC game on my OLED but also watch lots of movies. Amd the price will hoepfully be down a grand or two lol
I bought the 77" G4 on a discount which will be delivered within 2 weeks. Going to wallmount it. What thin 4k ultra high speed HDMI cables, do you reccommend to make the installation slim, just having the cable canal from the mid routing all the 4 HDMI cables to console,PC,Nvidia shield etc?
So one of the big sticking points for me and a lot of friends/relatives is that the LG OLEDs before the G4 had colors that looked really washed out and details were very much lost in darker areas of the screen. This was SUPER obvious in a campfire scene in the Harrison Ford period cowboy show on Apple TV - you couldn’t see anything besides the fire and faces. This wasn’t an issue with Sony’s A95L. Details in dark scenes is something almost no reviewer talks about - just “blacks are so black”. So how does the G4 stack up to the Sony OLED flagship in this regard? Looking to buy my first nice TV and this factor might sway me to get the A95L until I can see a G4 in person...

I appreciate your great review and would purchase a 77 oled G4. But I have two 65 C3 oled and it will be a while before I upgrade.
Speakers sounded great on the G4 coming out of my iPad!
great video and informative, i have a C3 which is only 6 months old so unlikely to upgrade yet. would you use the same picture settings on that model as well? i noticed some options are greyed out despite turning off energy saving. thanks and keep up the good work.
I love the contrast of oled tv’s. What do you think about the Samsung QN900D 8K tv compared to the LG G4?
G4 - just ordered a 65" unit. Going to be replacing a 50" Panasonic G10 plasma. I feel like I am in for a ride.
What is that console/piece you have under the tv, with the soundbar sitting on it? Looks great with this size of screen!
Hi dude, do you use the same settings (color, and warm balance) with gaming? Or you change something?
G4. Thinking of getting the 77”
Christ I've been saving for the 77 inch and I think I'm buying before Christmas day. Scared/excited x
The 77" G4 is on sale at best buy for $3,499.00 a savings of $1,100. Bought my 65" G4 last week and saved $1,100.00. It's an AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, FANTASTIC TV. Get it NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have seen these in person and they are amazing, really want one.
Just set up my 65 inch G4 it’s soooo nice
Hi, thanks for another great video. I have even larger windows behind the sofa and facing the TV, so I am considering getting the Samsung S95D. Are you planning to test it in your living room. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
Stai away from Samsung. Mine died only after 2.5 years of usage. Samsung never again
Samsung doesn’t support Dolby Vision, so choose between the G4 or the Sony A95L depending on whether you care about gaming or just want to watch TV and movies
Thank you for the great review. what movie/tv show is on @3:45 Rebel moon? G4
Yes
G4, just bought a 64", and I'm currently waiting for it!
Thanks for this review. I liked it!
Very good! Would using TV G4 55” with the current Apple TV 4K be detrimental or beneficial?
Is it a big leap from the LG GX 2020 model?
How do you like the Era 300 as surrounds? Do you have a video review of your setup?
My next OLED...the great 83" G4 with MLA panel 😍👌 It's time to kick out my beloved and trusted 77" Sony AG9! 😎👊
G4. Nice detailed video
Film Maker mode is pretty much identical across LG, Samsung and Sony. Got an S95C last year and getting refunded due to some recent issues so I get to enjoy doing the fun research and comparisons again this year with the new tech.
G4; Excellent review, Andrew! So good, I decided to subscribe to your channel. Thanks!
120hz tvs are very difficult to find in the UK, unless you go for top models and are prepared to pay over 2K, but if I could get this TV, it would need to be in 55"
What size is your TV Andrew ? I'm confused between 65 & 77 inch.
Please 🙏🙏
What is the best size choice for 7,5 foot distance ?
65G4 or 77C4 ? (Or 77G4 😆 but +1000€ more)
I still have C9 and it’s incredible 👌
What about the burn ins?
And what about theSamsung S95D? Who is the best?
Mine (77inch) will be deliverd and installed next Friday, can't wait to watch movies and play games on this monster tv...
How's the performance of the TV?
I bought the 77" G4 on a discount which will be delivered within 2 weeks.
Going to wallmount it. What thin 4k ultra high speed HDMI cables, do you reccommend to make the installation slim, just having the cable canal from the mid routing all the 4 HDMI cables to console,PC,Nvidia shield etc?
How much??
@@sciencepowerpoints 3260 dollars worth
G4 beats all its predecessors in assuming?
I was about to purchase this weekend BUT target had the lg c3 65 inch for $999!!! Couldn’t pass that up lol g4 looks great though 😂
I love my c3 and planning too keep it for 3 years then I will consider upgrading it
G4, just ordered the 65
What sort of difference would you expect from the lg cx to the g4 had mine near 5 years now and thinking of upgrading
Looks great, and the sound is amazing. ordered 😊Thanks for sharing all the information. Good job Andrew 👍
