how can it look incredible on a 60hz video on your approx 60hz monitor lol
144 isn't a big deal. It would of been cooler if they had 240Hz.

@@Lewis-jn8ry It's not a big deal but it still makes a decent amount difference. 144hz feels smoother than 120hz and it's noticeable, at least for me (this is probably subjective). I doubt a 240hz 4k TV like this will be coming out soon. First off, HDMI 2.1 doesn't have the bandwidth for 4k@240hz + 10bpc - so a lot would need to happen to get it to work well.
I have viewed this TV model in a showroom, and it just leaves all the rest standing. So well designed the aluminium frame still looks ageless and the 2nd gen MLA with 144hz is a gamers dream. Let's see if this will end up being TV of the year...

Great review Andrew. I was wondering whether you had a chance to experience an IMAX enhanced movie with this TV set. I couldn't find anything anywhere about whether or not this tv fully supporting the IMAX enhanced content exploiting the metadata that may change the image settings as intended by the director. I know a sony bravia does it but was wondering if the LG panel does it at all or only change the image ratio without changing any other settings. THX

Hi Andrew, about the picture settings , you mentioned that you’re using filmmaker mode base, but on the video it shows cinema home. Did you change it by any chance? I also noticed that clarity on the video shows at level 20. But the filmmaker mode level is 10 could you please clarify this? I’m assuming that the brightness states standard according to which format you are watching. Thanks for the great video!
I think the content he was watching on that video was Dolby vision content which doesn’t have a filmmaker mode. Cinema home is only available on Dolby vision and hdr. I’m assuming he was referring to filmmaker mode when watching sdr content, it just so happens that he was watching Dolby vision when recording.
Is it better than a95L processing wise? How about color luminance?
How does the TV perform upscaling of standard High Def content and blu rays?

I just got the g3 on hefty discount and it’s amazing I’m sure there are improvements but I’m so happy with my new tv. Hope everyone who gets one enjoys the g4.
I know this can sound as a stupid question but i have an old generation OLED tv from LG the 55B6V from 2017 Its got dolby vision and HDR looks great, is the picture quality or HDr content be very different? Because everything already looks great and don´t know if i can justify getting these new models.
Just wanted to say thanks for your coverage of the G4. Your glowing words on the G4 (along with reviews from other creators) helped me make the decision to get this TV. I went for the 83 and got it yesterday. It is insanely, mind-blowing good. I am way more impressed than I even thought it would be. I upgraded from a 77 CX and did not expect such a huge difference, but this thing is worth every penny. Thanks again!

Never mind, just realized the setting is hidden because I’m connected to my Apple TV in Dolby Vision mode. 😅

I have had a calibrated 77" LG CX for about 4 years now, and I always want to see how far the technology has come and figure out when I should upgrade. I actually bought a S95B a while back and returned it, tried an S95C and returned it too, yes it is brighter, it has 144Hz support, better colors, I did notice black crush probably because I am comparing it to my calibrated CX, but that aside, I never see a "night and day" difference so I can't really justifying an upgrade....I am missing something??

Looking at the images on the LG site, I had the impression that the TV could be installed without leaving any space between the screen and the wall. Is that the case? If I understand correctly, this TV is not wireless like the M3 series. Am I right?
Hey great video. I got the G4 yesterday and love it. However I think there is an issue with VRR on 120hz games. Have you noticed that Gran Turismo 7 micro stutters quite a bit with VRR enabled. I found that turning VRR off and then back on whilst in game rectifies this. Be good to know if you see this and anyone else who has the G4
Is it worth selling my c2 65 inch and buy og g4 77 inch/83inch on black friday? Or keep the c2 some few years more, when the technology is better. Or at the difference in picture Quality from c2 to g4 that HUGE
Hi Andrew, excellent review and congratulations with your LG G4. LG always makes excellent (OLED) TV'S. In a couple of months this year, I will go for the 55 " inch because I don't have no more space on the wall. I have now a 46" inch Panasonic on the wall. Thanks for the review. Glenn
LG-OLED55G46LS just bought it from currys shop in uk omg all the tvs on display but this tv blew everything out of the water it will be delivered on 29/05/2024 its overkill for my pc but we all have our hobbies

Does the LGG4 have a Audio Output (Headphone Jack 🎧)? This is because I use a splitter to distribute simultaneous sound to Amplifier, Soundbar and Karaoke. The HDMI does not work so well. I know the old LG3 does have it!

Thanks for the review Andrew 👍 I'm still the proud owner of a 65" C9 and loved watching it every day since i got it,never had a issue with it up till a few days ago with a firmware update. The mongrels have take away fta tv on startup which is to say it no longer defaults to the tv tuner when you switch it on,you now get the homescreen from which you have to select live tv. 😡I have toyed with the idea of updating to the G series for a few years but never felt a compelling case till now to actually do it. The latest processor on the G4 really seems to have closed the gap with Sony to the point where there is no wrong answer between the two brands. I'm eyeing an upgrade to a 77" G4 if one of the retailers are in the mood to negotiate.
With the tv stand did they address the wobble?
I currently have the 65 inch LG OLED65E6 from 2016. I see LG does not have an E series anymore. Have had some burn in throughout the years and was thinking about finally upgrading to a 77 inch G4. My E6 remote is awesome, wonder why they stopped using them? With 8K seemingly loosing momentum I may just get the G4 now. Hoping even with going from E to G, the impact is noticeably improved :) after 8 years.
picture quality are much improved than pervious TV.. but more brighter mode cause very high temperature on screen surface upto around 85 Celsius degree ..

I currently have the 77” inch Master Series Sony Bravia OLED. I’ve had it for 3ish years and I love it.
I’d like to go with a 98” but 20K for a G2 or 25K for a G4… I dunno…
I’m considering the 83” G4.
That’s only a 6 inch difference…. Is it worth it to only upgrade 6 inches.

Great video, G4 is fantastic, in my opinion it will be affordable in 1 year, right now the G3 is the winner in price. G4 costs a lot more than it is better. Approximate prices: 65G3 2200USD 65G4 3400USD 77G3 3300 USD 77G4 4600USD.
agree mate. have the lg g3 77 inch also. not worth to upgrade. its only 100 nits brighter. if you are a pc gamer. yeah go for it. 144hz while the g3 is 120hz. but i am a console gamer. not worth to upgrade. also wrgb oled is on the limit. can be much better. i wait till next year or 2026. hopefully blue ph oled !

After the update, voice search stopped working on my c2. The pixel cleaning functions have also gone wrong and cannot be added to the schedule! its foking sick !

So my question is, if I were to buy it, should I use all AI, and what are the best settings for gaming?
The peak brightness is about 1500 nits. I have a 77" G4. The panel supposedly can do 3000 but I'm guessing it's limited by firmware.
I have the C1 and ill probably stick with it.

I just bought the lg g3 83 inch but ended up returning it because the whites weren’t true white. It had a blueish/greenish tint to it. Also when viewing the tv in different viewing angles, it shift to a very strong blue/green hue color. And tended to look super dark. Does the g4 have any of these issues?
I have a 77 inch G3. I don't have any of the problems you mentioned. This may be related to the MLA panel, because no matter how narrow the viewing angle I make, the accuracy of the colors is almost the same. I can't say anything exactly about whites because WOLEDs have white subpixels, not a mixture of red, green and blue like QD-OLED. But I still don't think white looks like that. Regarding brightness, there is no MLA on 83 inches, so that might be the reason.
So one of the big sticking points for me and a lot of friends/relatives is that the LG OLEDs before the G4 had colors that looked really washed out and details were very much lost in darker areas of the screen. This was SUPER obvious in a campfire scene in the Harrison Ford period cowboy show on Apple TV - you couldn’t see anything besides the fire and faces. This wasn’t an issue with Sony’s A95L. Details in dark scenes is something almost no reviewer talks about - just “blacks are so black”. So how does the G4 stack up to the Sony OLED flagship in this regard? Looking to buy my first nice TV and this factor might sway me to get the A95L until I can see a G4 in person...
What Soundbar do you have ?
Not sure If i should go for a LG Soundbar or the Samsung Q995 .
I'd avoid Samsung soundbars in general. They're buggy, constantly disconnect (especially if you have rear surround speakers). I'm not familiar with the LG ones unfortunately but all I can say is avoid Samsung.

What screen size would you guys recommend? I am sitting ~3 meters away from the wall and I am using a 55" TV at the moment. I want to upgrade to 65" but I am afraid that it would be too big
If space is not a problem go for the bigger one. Im sitting a little more than 2 meters from 65 inch and am thinking of upgrading to 77 soon.
How are the colors compared to Samsung s95d?
How have they not got a detachable power cable or better yet a wireless solution.
And what about theSamsung S95D? Who is the best?
I'm not sure how helpful this will be, but usually, on LG OLED TVs (with this subpar remote), holding the back button works (while using HDMI CEC) when a single press doesn't.
I own the 77G4 since yesterday. It replaced the 65CX. It’s absolutely an amazing screen!

Do you have a PS5? Have you noticed any issues with VRR when playing 120fps games? I’ve had it with Gran Turismo 7 but not sure if I have a faulty unit

I changed my order from the G455 to C465. The reason is that i couldnt affort the G465. And im happy i went for the size and not mla. Right now i turn down the brightness because i get a headache. I would never fully use the better brightness.

G4! WOW Andrew the G4 sounds incredible! I have the c2 and I love its picture quality with the Apple TV 4K so the G4 must be out of this world! :) The only thing that bugs me slightly with the c2 is if I display a white screen, the right hand side is slightly brighter than the left - noticeable when I'm watching skiing & snowboarding :) is this panel uniformity? I don't notice it any other time so I'm guessing that it's LG and the c2 mass production quality control bloops! :) For OLED the G4 really seems to be the one to go for! Paul

So I just upgraded to the a95L from a C1. Was also considering the g4 but they didn’t have it in stock at the time. Very happy with quality, brightness and colors of the a95L. Curious to know if you think the g4 is better?
You are good with the A95L. G4 and A95L for the most part are equal, they trade blows.

Did you notice the silver bezel reflecting off the tv while watching? One reviewer mentioned that and said it was distracting enough for him Not to keep the tv. 🤷♂️🤔
