Fallout Season 1 Review [SPOILERS]

- I just binged all 8 episodes and I have some thoughts -- and most of them are not good. So if you are looking for a glowing review, this is not the review you are looking for! This is from the perspective of a long-time fan who has played all the games and thinks "Fallout: New Vegas" is the best game ever made. So if that sounds like your glass of Sunset Sarsaparilla, then bully for you! Come on in!

I've played all the games and I actually really liked the show. If you don't think it was better and more refreshing than Fallout 76 I think you're nuts. Maybe it'll push the narrative and cause Bethesda to make the games amazing again.
I mean that's totally legit. Seems to be the majority opinion so there are plenty of people that already agree with you. Not much need to call me "nuts" because we don't agree. Though I don't think a show that basically rehashed the plot of Fallout 3 can be called refreshing.

@Riley-dw5wy totally true. Hopefully they listen to (some of) the fan reaction and make some course corrections. But remember this is the same team that did Westworld.
I think Todd Howard and Bethesda know new Vegas is the best and they will never be able to meet those expectations so they’re slowly through the years getting rid of lore from it so it’s just a distant memory and they can start a new and be famous for their titles only
I agree 100% And it is their property to do with as they please. That doesn't mean I have to lap it up like a good consumer.
I love how he took all the lore established in NV and practically retconned it. Overall, the show was well filmed, the props were great. The cgi was meh, and some of the plot points sucked. That said, it was a decent watch. I enjoyed it enough to keep going. Heres hoping there is a NCR faction left standing in NV. I'm sure Todd will Todd up season 2.

I wish we could, but we have to get ready for Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Fest that starts a few days later. We will be living in Vegas for a week, but we can't head out that early. Have fun!

At least this a earnest review of someone who didn't like it. Personally I really enjoyed it, just be cautious of being too emotionally close to part of the lore that you can't enjoy something because of minor retcons and changes that ultimately don't change all that much. And in the flashback of Grace, Shady Sands was rebuilt.
I mean... I get into stories because of emotional investment. Where there is none I get bored. And I did get bored with the back half of this show. But thanks for your comment!
I do agree with the NCR portion I really hope they’re strongish in season 2 or I’m gonna be so done with Bethesda

You made some points that I haven’t seen anyone else make. The vaults and the location of shady sands specifically.
I share a lot of the same opinions probably a little less disappointed, but still sad that they just cleaned the slate.
