That is awesome. I was thinking it was a celtic knot but only half way. It's a great design. Hypnotic. That's the best coffee mug around, A real showcase piece.
Another great piece!! 🤩👍 Quick question; can you usually visualise how a pattern is going to turn out, or do you just make the measurements and wait for the surprise? Especially for the more complex designs

Greetings from Humboldt County Ca, USA. Very much enjoying your work. Fast became one of my favorite channels. I am amazed by your thinking and the steps you take to get something truly unique. Thanks for showing us- people on the other side of the camera- how it’s done, step by step. Definitely going to keep watching, I’ve subscribed and hit the bell. Awesome as always! When you first put it on the lathe to get the basic shape I said to myself, “Ooh I hope he makes a cup. That would be pretty neat!” And lo and behold: a very beautiful cup was made!
Hmm, I almost gave this a thumbs down (actually was just ready to move on to something else) because I tend to like videos that are narrated byt the crafts-person, however I scrolled to the end of the video to view the result before leaving. I got intrigued because it is such a beautiful piece. I am glad I watched. Nice work. Thank you!
We really enjoyed watching this video. You applied art and design to carpentry and we were very excited to see the final product. We are waiting for your next art videos.
Looks good, something I have often thought of making but just never have. Hope the CA glue up holds for you, I've heard it can get brittle and fail after several years, whether true or not I don't know although I had an olive wood pen for 15 years with a CA finish and it held up fine. It disappeared in the spring and I can't find it.
Your work is really very creative, thanks for sharing it and I would like to do something similar, but I can't find that aluminum container that you incorporated, can you give me an idea of where to buy it? Thank you
Thank you very much for your comment, I am very happy that you appreciate my work 😊💖 I found this mug in a small store near my house but I think you can find it on the internet
I love the result. You said that you buy the insert from a high end kitchen place. Would you mind telling us where exactly or this is something you rather not say? Thank you.
Hi Tim Thank you very much for your comment 😉👍 I use cyanoacrylate to simply hold in place while waiting for the final gluing with wood glue, it saves me time
This is an awesome result! I really like the pattern. A question: Where can I get the insert kit you used? It has unique features that I like. Cheers, Dave.
Just imagine a video that doesn't admonish you to "you need to see this" or some other hyperbole. I enjoyed watching this and am making plans to implement it. Danke Sehr.
Morgan that is a beautiful piece of work; almost too good for drinking coffee from! I'm curious why you used two different glues to glue the woods together.
Really cool. How does the wood hold up with liquid getting on it all the time? coffee and tea stains? I think it's great and would be very careful if I actually used it!
Tus trabajos son muy bonitos. Me puedes decir por favor donde puedo conseguir un vaso como el que utilizas en el vídeo ,para poder realizar uno . Mucha gracias.
Very nice piece! I would like to try something like that - in a safe manner of course. Where did you find the insert for the mug? That is a fantastic way to make an insulated drinking mug. Can you give a link to that insert? Thank you very much!
An exquisite piece. The math of the varying geometry in the design boggles my mind, but adds a lot of interest. A next-level concept, expertly crafted!

Very well executed piece and such a lovely design, bravo! However the wax finish you gave it is not functional or smart. This is not a cutting board and has no direct contact with mouth or food. Any finish would have been fine. This will be subjected to daily use, water, soap, and handling. This is the finish I would have used, to seal off the wood and bring out the shine better. Lather with Boiled Linseed Oil all over. After 15 mins, wipe off excess with paper towels. Let dry 2 days. Generously apply diluted Varathane oil-based Satin Interior Clear Polyurethane diluted 40:60 with Mineral Spirits. One coat, wait 15 mins, smear and wipe off excess. Let dry 2 hrs. Repeat 2-3 times. Dry. Add a wax finish over this if you like. Now add the metal insert and lid. The diluted Poly soaks in and hardens the wood and seals it completely from water. The oil conditions the wood prior to sealing off, and brings out a golden luster, better than wax. Just wax alone, may work for a fruit bowl on a table, but not this utilitarian object.
Hi Remy If you watch the video carefully at 8:20 am I apply a hard background to stabilize the wood, then I re-sand lightly with 1000 paper before The layer of wax that will bring the shiny effect and the resistance. On this kind of wood species I always proceed this way and it works well Thank you for your comment and for the advice 😉👍

Well done what a great idea 💡 good job sir 👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much Oliver 😊❤️❤️❤️
I am curious why the first parts glued up were with a CA glue, but then the second set were with regular wood glue and clamped.
The cyano is simply used to hold in place while waiting for a more powerful and definitive bonding with vinyl glue.
Great projects 👍
thank you so much😉👍
I would love to know what inspires your projects. What a gift you have
Thank you so much for your comment😊💖
I feel silly for asking, but what is the screw for? Is there something in the cup insert that it screws into?
Hi Kristina
Yes there is a place to screw a small screw and thus avoid sticking the insert to the wood😉
very nice! I was wondering why you use cyanoacrylate glue and then wood glue. Why not just use wood glue for all the pieces?
Hi Tim
Thank you very much for your comment 😉👍
I use cyanoacrylate to simply hold in place while waiting for the final gluing with wood glue, it saves me time

Morgan that is a beautiful piece of work; almost too good for drinking coffee from! I'm curious why you used two different glues to glue the woods together.

to save time because the first gluing did not require strong gluing😉
@@bawbreizhartwood thanks.
