    Great video Gentile, I have purchased a rear interior light upgrade Light unit, so that I will have Map reading lights front and back. I also have a headlight switch unit with the addition of the dimmer function. This is from a Focus C-max, so it doesn't have the Auto lights, function as my Focus is an Zetec like yours Gentile. One of the first jobs I did was to put some bulbs in the front foot well light bulb holders, present on most Mk2 Ford Focusses. Great stuff again Gentile Cheers.☺

      Thank you very much. Great work you’ve done there. I’m fitting a rear interior light at some point now that I’m am a parent and when the winter comes I want to see better at the back.

    My right front speaker worked when it was sunny, but now it's gone completely dead. Always thought the wiring was bad. Might give this a try.

    Interesting video. I have been looking into upgrading the speakers of my Fiat Bravo, but they are of similar construction like the Focus and it made me hesitate a bit. But it seems rather straightforward, looking at this video 😅👍

    The speakers I bought were slightly too big so I had to remove a bit more material but then I struggled getting the screws in. I'm embarrassed to say it took me 3 hours to do this but I'm glad I did as both factory speakers had stopped working.

    Lot of work. Easier to fit the blue plastic coned Ford ones. Drill out 4 rivets. Swap the speaker and rivet it. 10 min job including taking the door card off and on. They sound pretty good as well

    • @GentilsGarage
      @GentilsGarage  Год назад +6

      These ones were far cheaper and I didn’t think it was a lot of work. Also I don’t have a riveter or rivets available (never had the need for them before). Everyone does the jobs according to their needs and tools. The end result is what I wanted, so that’s good enough for me

    Hey man, nice video I probably will need this in the upcoming week! Last week I had to brake hard on the highway for the car in front of me, a can of Red Bull flew to the place where the cigarette lighter is located and where my phone was laying connected to an AUX cable. It was dark outside and so it was in the car, I noticed that the drink fell there like 3/4 minutes after it happened. When I noticed, I took out the can of that place and checked if my phone got wet. On the moment I picked up my phone, my left speaker stopped working directly. A few days I was looking why my left speaker stopped working, but on the day the temperature got higher outside the speaker started to make buzzing sounds and worked for like 3 seconds and started buzzing again. I’m gonna change both of my front speakers like you did but do you maybe know what could cause the left speaker to stop working? Thanks man.

      Thanks. No idea on what caused the speaker issue and it took me a while to notice to be fair. I guess they all go bag at some point as many owners had a similar issue

      @@GentilsGarage Thanks for your reply appreciate it 🙏🏼 I probably will use an adapter in between because I don’t have any soldering equipment. Another question man, how do I know which is the minus and plus cable coming from the car itself? Are the grey ones the minus and the whites one the plus? And does it matter how I will put the adapter on? I read about it to get the best quality of music to put it the correct way, but not sure which colour stands for what.

      I brought a mk2 facelift estate... to my disappointment there were no speakers at all behind the front seats... the previous owner must of upgraded at some point and removed all the rear speakers when they sold it!!!
      I'm doing the big 3 upgrade with a higher power alternator and a bigger, better battery.
      it's not going to be a pretty penny but i want a dirty sound system sooo so bad!!! 🤪👍

    Don't you have to disconnect the battery when you are working on an electrical device?

    • @GentilsGarage
      @GentilsGarage  Год назад +1

      Not always, although many argue in favour or against. In this case the radio was off and the ignition, that also sends the power to the radio was off too.
      In the same way, the battery doesn’t need to be disconnected to replace bulbs, so no need to disconnect the battery to replace speakers.
