How to Easily change Ford Focus Mk2 Front Speakers | Ford Focus Mk2 | Hertz DCX 165.3

In this video I will show you how to change front speakers on Ford Focus mk2. The front tweeters were working but the speakers stopped working. In this method you dont have to install the plastic rings but you can use existing original rings, cut the old speakers out and screw the new speakers on top of it.
I am using DCX 165.3 6.5" inch speakers
Hertz DCX 165.3

when doing your wiring I found it is better to add the tweeter wires as well it makes for a better sound Grey wire is + the big terminal look at wiring block you will see 4 wires add the too lift hand wires together the same with the right side and your done This video is a very good one.

Hi i left the original tweeter wire as it is. Since i used the coaxial speakers which have built in tweeters so car original tweeters are not used. Old speakers had a circuit which was actually driving the tweeters but not co axial

Yes you can but then tou need the new adapter ring to place behind speakers. In this way you can resuse, and only have to change the speakers

Hey bro, I have a question maybe you know what the problem is. I also drive a Ford Focus MK2. This week I was driving on the highway and I had to brake hard for the car in front of me. Because of that, a can with a little bit of soda flew out of my cupholder, to the place where the car cigarette lighter hole is located, also my phone was laying there connected to an AUX cable. It was early in the morning and dark outside so I didn’t notice directly that the can flew in that place, only after 3/4 minutes. When I noticed it, I took the can out and wanted to check my phone if it got wet from the drink. At the exact moment I picked up my phone, my left speaker in the driver side door stopped working, the tweeter still works. Do you know how the liquid could cause the left speaker to not work anymore? A little bit of liquid fell into the cigarette lighter hole, because I opened it over there and underneath I could see there was a bit dried sticky substance. But I can only find there the connector of the cigarette lighter, not any exposed cables from the speakers.

Well then guessing is very hard because i dont think speaker wires sit that low in dash. A very wild guess is that a spilled liquid caused short circuit somewhere which affected the speaker

@@fja4117 first you can test conector to see if are coming electric signal. Maybe you speaker are ok.
