Great review! I'm Portuguese and did't have a clue there was a special military ration made for our navy! Just a tip, when trying a Portuguese coffee (or some european countries), keep in mind that the instant coffee you get is probably to make an expresso, since that's the only kind we drink around here. It is some of the best quality fish in a can that I've ever personally seen. Oh yeah your right I screwed up on the pelea. I tried to translate the bag and thought I was doing something wrong. Nice Portuguese ration. Breakfast looks good. Lunch is a lot of food, looks really good. Great ration heater. Very tasty looking except the Tuna, I don't like tuna especially if it is fishy. A lot of fish in this ration but I get it high protein. Thanks for the great review
Thanks Cheryl. I'm not a fan of opening and wasting an entire ration. I filmed this over an entire day but had to share with my son to consume all the food. Well I say all but I've still got some crackers and some sweet crackers left over but that's it. If you see a video on my channel and the food is edible haha then I eat it all or me and my son's eat it all. But I'll say luke a first strike ration I might open one of those all at once since it's just mainly snack food not meal food in my opnion. Thanks for watching as alway. Later.
they usually cook the MRE's (the portuguese ones) with just a bit of salt, and thats why they add the 2 packages of salt in the bag, so everyone can add more or less salt to match their own taste

The portuguese, brazilian and some of the african coffees are bitter and stronger than the regular american, british and so on coffees. That's why you guys drink the bigger cups and we drink "bicas", which is a little cup with coffee.

Tbh, that instant coffee doesn't seem produced in Portugal anyway, like the whole package. The tuna, small mackerel and the candies are definitely portuguese, but the rest... Paella is a spanish dish. The lamb with chickpeas is portuguese aswell..

Well depending on how you look at it. He's actually competitive with the other sellers. Plus if you've ever lost a load of rations like I just did because of customs then you know why the ones that make it through are more expensive. I literally just lost e International rations I've never had before and probably never will because of that. I did a trade and it ended up costing me big for nothing. So yeah I know if he orders say 20 rations he might loose up 10 or none of he doesn't loose any his prices will be lower. Hope this helped explain the International prices. Oh and another thing. I don't think you'd find this particular ration outside of the ones he got through customs. I know he lost some of these as well.

It's just one of those things. These are foreign military items. We can't just call up a store in Portugal and order a bunch of military rations to be sent here. It takes a TON of work and you need to have the contacts in those nations to make it even possible. Especially fresh rations that are still in date...as they aren't released as surplus. Have you ever noticed how much salt in those entrees? that Paelha has .5g salt per 100g, so 500mg x4 = 2000mg, which is daily allowance in one meal. def don't need extra salt on all the entrees! lol

I´ll tell ya what we had before but for polical\corruption was changed into that, we had 2 cans of "feijoada á transmontana"or 1 can of feijoada plus 1 can "Dobrada", the tuna wasnt has crappy has the spanish one, ours is "Bom Petisco" and that applys to the sardines as well. The cookies were "Maria from Triunfo", 2 cans of chocolate milk or 1 can of milk plus orange juice, Candys called Sugus. Had those in my Air Force bootcamp in 1997. The Company name was "Manutenção Militar". Almost forgot we also had 2 packs of condensed milk.
Actually I'd halft to argue that I do my own thing. Me and Steve are good friends and we talk all the time so I'm sure I've rubbed off on him and he's rubbed off on me. But it's not easy making decent videos so if I'm even in the same relhm as Steve then I'm happy. I appreciate you watching.
Sam M yea man.... All of the guys (smoke, Steve, gundog, kiwi, sticky, etc) do their own thing. The vids are similar, but that is because these guys are all friends and keep each other on their toes pushing the expectations. THEY set the standard.

Usually we drain all the oil from the tuna cans try that way, it tastes a lot better with way less grease from the oil.

It was one heavy ration with actually alot of food. The freeze dried mains in lrps,and mcws are not even as big as these after there reconstituted.

What would fit better? The maker of this ration Jamipsa puts the same crap in most the rations they make.
I´ll tell ya what we had before but for polical\corruption was changed into that, we had 2 cans of "feijoada á transmontana"or 1 can of feijoada plus 1 can "Dobrada", the tuna wasnt has crappy has the spanish one, ours is "Bom Petisco" and that applys to the sardines as well. The cookies were "Maria from Triunfo", 2 cans of chocolate milk or 1 can of milk plus orange juice, Candys called Sugus. Had those in my Air Force bootcamp in 1997. The Company name was "Manutenção Militar". Almost forgot we also had 2 packs of condensed milk.

Actually I'd halft to argue that I do my own thing. Me and Steve are good friends and we talk all the time so I'm sure I've rubbed off on him and he's rubbed off on me. But it's not easy making decent videos so if I'm even in the same relhm as Steve then I'm happy. I appreciate you watching.

Sam M yea man.... All of the guys (smoke, Steve, gundog, kiwi, sticky, etc) do their own thing. The vids are similar, but that is because these guys are all friends and keep each other on their toes pushing the expectations. THEY set the standard.
