Only the story is different, the gameplay is very similar which is not necessarily a bad thing but yeah, most of the boss fights and the side missions are 85% rehashed AC and about 15% original. Then there's multiplayer which could have been a step forward if the matchmaking worked.
JosayJalapeno WB Montreal needs more creativity if they are going to make another Batman game, especially if it's going to be another prequel.

I really loved Origins. The open spaces, the tall buildings, and the snow really sold the vibe.
I love it but I almost feel like there was so much crammed in that one game. It’s like every single villain decides this is their first introduction to Batman

One reason why Batman does not kill is his first-hand experience of the tragedy caused by murder and his determination to not fall into the vicious cycle of murder and revenge. Batman also truly loves his home of his family, Gotham City - while he is the sort of person who could change the world, his heart is always on protecting Gotham. Batman wants to make sure that his parents didn't die for nothing, so their legacy, through Batman, would be a just, safe and peaceful Gotham City.

Paranoid1996 My comment relates to this video because I was referring to why Batman does not agree with Shiva's - and R'as al'Ghul's - bleak opinion of Gotham City and their justification of murder. Shiva and R'as have fallen to the allure of power over others' lives - something that Batman tries to avoid.

It's funny how an inexperienced Batman beat all these villains in a row, and these villains have beaten Batman in the comics: Bane, Deathstroke, and almost Lady Shiva; she could've beaten Batman if Robin didn't step in.

RETROCHEF That's still around year one Batman, which I said before, and yes I have played the game. This still doesn't add up though. Two years of crime fighting is still considered an inexperienced Batman. He's going through a gauntlet of top tier enemies. Even Batman in his best of days would still have an arduous time fighting some of these opponents: Deathstroke and Lady Shiva. Deathstroke defeated Batman more than once in the comics. Lady Shiva is a more skilled martial artist than Batman. He admitted it himself, and by the time he had his back broken from Bane, Bruce asked Shiva to train him for help.
That's all I'm upset about; some of the enemies here aren't represented as dangerous as they actually are. I mean some of the fans were expecting Deathstroke to make an appearance later in the game to fight along side with Batman. Making Deathstroke a playable character teased us that it might happen, but we never got it. I hope you understand my viewpoint about this game.

Arkham Origins had the best villians. Most of which were obscure and underrated.
I was expecting Shiva to be far more impressive, she was described as having unmatched skill, while Deathstroke, theoretically less skilled, was such an awesome boss battle.
I played AO on New Game+, on the hardest difficulty (Knightmare). I fought Deathstroke. I fucking died.
Not to brag, but I'm GREAT at this game. During that playthrough, I never died to another fight or boss if I was even trying a little bit.
And yet, without counter icons, I just ate shit to Deathstroke. The assassin, on his own, slaughtered my sorry ass not once, but twice.
Shiva not only fails to really challenge me on the same difficulty, but she fails to challenge me _while calling for help._ "Peerless fighter" my ass.
She's more impressive in the Initiation DLC.
The thing is, they can’t have Batman fight shiva because it’s a video game, and progress is made by succeeding. Batman being Shiva in h2h combat this early into his career would be pure blasphemy.
Even beating deathstroke this early on is a far enough stretch.
In Shiva’s defense, she was only testing Batman and probably wasn’t giving it her all.
I doubt Shiva was trying her best here. As mentioned, she was only testing Batman's skill and such. She would've given him more of a hard time than Deathstroke did if she really wanted to kill Batman.
Shiva's whole point in the game was a plot set-up for Ra's Ar Ghul and Arkham City. Nothing more, nothing less.
As much as I think her role/boss battle could have been better.....LOVE the flawless web these games have weaved to each other as far as plot goes.
The games do weave a tangled web. I suppose it makes sense that Ra's Al Ghul would be able to plan ahead this much. When you can live for hundreds of years, you can plan into the future a bit further than the average person.

*Lady Shiva in the comics:* Is canonically considered one of, if not the, greatest H2H fighter in all of DC, to the point that beating her in a straight fight is treated as a near impossibility, and who defeating requires exploiting underhanded tactics.

She didnt get beaten up she tested Batman you can see that she easily counterer Bruces attacks two times. I bet Bruce can get his ass handed to him if they made a more difficult boss battle.

I got that trophy that says "beat shiva without taking damage" without trying. Yet, the game is cool, and I admire Batmanarkhamvideos's work.
I like to think that he just keeps on doing multiple takes and only shows the perfect ones.
Shiva makes a minor additional appearance in the Initiation DLC, no lines, but im still holding out hope that She and Deathstroke might get their own DLC single player sections.
Deathstroke could be him investigating, tracking, then fighting Batman (with the possibility of an alternate universe style ending where DS wins if you are good enough).
Shiva's could be following Batman, observing his actions, setting up the "test" we see in 'Most Wanted' or even directing the other assassins to his location, meeting Bane (as we hear in the blackmail material), or triggering the second Blackgate breakout - all as other forms of Tests.
Sheldon Park is very beautiful, before it became the Processing Center of Arkham City. Wonder Tower must have survived a long time indeed.

Primary Objective: Locate and apprehend Shiva
Objectives:
• Cut the power electrifying the pool
• Rescue the hostage from Ninjas
• Scan the area for a blood trail that'll lead to another cop
• Follow the blood trail to locate the another cop
• Confront Shiva at the Wonder Tower lobby
• Defeat Shiva
They can be as self-righteous as they want but at least Batman fights alone. He is definitely worthy.
+Volcanic Harpy Well sure, you can say the same with just about any other hero. You need SOMETHING to be able to fight whether they are superpowers, money, or advanced gadgets.
Even then you can have all of that and still be killed or worthless. Batman is constantly pushed to the limit by his enemies and even against the odds he pulls through.
As for the killing of criminals. Sure, that goes without saying. If they are dead then they can do no harm. The problem isn't the killing itself. Anyone can kill. The problem is what happens afterwards.
It is a slippery slope and once you managed to convince yourself of the reasons why killing is essential then you can start using new excuses as time goes on and well... you reach a point where you become a shadow of your former self and you realize you are just a murderer. A murderer that is really no different than Joker or other members of the Rogue gallery.
This is mainly why Batman does not kill. He is afraid he might like it or he might end up like Joker. If you don't believe that then all you really need to do is pay attention to the plot in Arkham Knight.
+Volcanic Harpy Not really no. Batman has captured the Joker time and time again. He has been sent to Arkham Asylum and through no fault of Batman, the joker has escaped.
Batman is not the law and he is no authority to really decide who lives or dies. He is no Judge and executioner. If anything the ones responsible for those deaths is simply Gotham PD and/or anyone responsible for looking after Joker once he is in the hands of authorities.
Either way, Batman can't be guilty for the crimes of others. He does his part and he puts them away. They manage to escape.
The point I was making was specific to Batman. In real life if there was anyone like the Joker then by all means I vote for execution. My point is that Batman or rather Bruce Wayne is unique. He was affected by his parent's death and he has never gotten over it. He knows he isnt normal and he knows that the Joker knows that too. Joker is constantly trying to make Batman see reason and admit that they are the same. They are both crazy in their own ways. Batman hates the idea of being like the Joker. Killing him or anyone else would just be a step toward a dark path that he does not want to take.

Maybe. At least he is doing something about it though. Why does it all have to be up to Batman to clean up? If Shiva or the League of Assassin's felt that strongly about injustice then they can kill themselves instead of pushing their values and agenda onto Batman.
With that said, Batman has his own rules and he follows them for his own personal reasons some of which I have already wrote about. You may disagree with his actions but the point is that Batman does not kill not because it is morally wrong. That does not play into the picture. Batman is a dark character. He is very violent and he leaves thugs close to death with the beatings they get. He does not kill simply because to HIM and him only it can lead to a darker path.
No one ever said Batman was perfect. That guy is a mess. Think about it. He goes around at night beating up thugs dressed as a bat. He is not right in the head.

This is just an opinion of mine, but when Shiva said that her "Master" wanted to "reopen" Arkham, it could be referring to the whole Ra's Al Ghul/Hugo Strange situation. Also with the fact the League of Assassin ninjas are in this game. However, she says nearly the exact same thing Azreal said with the whole, "Ashes will rise" quote. So it's a toss up on that one. But it sounds like we're gonna see Shiva in the last game

True, he has protected it and saved people numerous times but no matter how many times he saved the city he can never truly put injustice to sleep. This time, the city must completely burn, from the ashes will it be reborn to something new, something different. In the end, the Batman never actually died, but he burned with Gotham and came back reborn as someone else, something else.

I actually felt that the boss fights in Origins were the best of the franchise thus far. However, I did feel that the Copperhead battle would have been better suited for another Scarecrow fight. I also felt that the fight with the Joker could have been much better and more challenging, but at least we actually got to fight him this time.

Lady Shiva is one the greatest and one of the most dangerous and deadliest martial artist in the DC Universe. She has the body language ability to read her opponent's moves before they strike and is the only one who has defeated Batman once or more times in the comics. And the only martial artist in the DC comics to surpass her and has beaten her before is Richard Dragon the greatest martial arts grandmaster in the DC Universe and is one of the them who trained Bruce Wayne before he became Batman and Lady Shiva. Plus he is ranked above Lady Shiva at no.02.

I can see I'm not the only one who thinks she's working for Ra's Al Ghul.
There's nothing worse than when you're being tied up hanging by your wrists, and then to top it all off your arms decide to start glitching.
I would love to see Cheshire in the next Arkham game. One thing I love about DC is that characters like Batman, Green Arrow, the Question, Bronze Tiger, etc. and villains like Deathstroke, Shiva, etc. are all interconnected and often link back to the LoS.
