The idea of longer range requirement are somewhat dubious. The longer the range, the longer it takes to recharge. Almost everyone does not need a 600 mile range unless there is not a source of electricity within 500 miles.

Lots of bot comments here! All the percentage given don't add up. Battery's from a Chinese company so no special boon to Tesla as they don't own the tech. 30 percent increased density( lots of which comes from the form factor) takes them to same 400ish range as competition. There is no weight reduction unless your not raising capacity. The charge rate is limited by charger tech and temps so you never spend a lot of time at max charge unless your battery is huge (150hw ish like in big trucks) or massive cooling is used, oh and if a second car plugs in on the charger group your on it gets cut too because these sites are power limited due to the electrical system feeding it

Is this the new Shenxing Plus LFP battery or the regular CATL M3P? A MY Juniper with a higher range, would be a game changer if CATL supplied these batteries to Tesla.
Both battery has a chance to be intergrated into Model Y, but Shenxing Plus is surely better choice. Elon comes to China last month, and Robin Zheng, CEO of CATL, also go to his hotel to talk about battery, so CATL will surely supplied battery to Tesla.

How do you think Tesla will achieve such range?
They could have done that a long time ago since the current Li-ion batteries have a higher energy density than the M3P. The problem is the price tag. Nobody would buy it. What the M3P can do is to bring down the price of the current Long Range models that uses Lithium Nickel Manganese chemistry. Currently LFP has a lower cost than M3P but once the volume goes up it’s possible that M3P could replace LFP and give a lighter vehicle with better fast charging. That’s about it I think.
Sounds great, but I’ll believe it when I see it. Many RUclipsrs are not exactly forthcoming.

Well, if that is the EPA range, then the real-world performance in normal conditions will be pretty close. Of course, there are other factors that can affect range like speed, temperature, tire condition, etc.
I would prefer 1/2 that range, and 1/2 the weight of battery, and a substantial cost reduction.

2024 Model Y LR does not have 330 miles range. It does not even have 310 miles rage as listed in the spec. After driving like a granny, the max I can get out of it approx 240 miles range (when the battery loaded till 85%).

Basic Math , for real range 1000km Tesla Model Y needs at least 150kWh (158kWh gross ) battery pack . There is no battery with that energy density at the moment , Solid state only .
