Nice video! Really appreciate you showing handheld video shots. There are so many reviews that only focus on photography and completely skip the video aspects a lens can be used for. Seeing the stabilization of a lens is huge for people that film. Great review, thanks for the video.
Very much like your reviews because you move quickly through the important subjects and provide your personal opinion often in comparison to other products, specifications or brands. It's very fluent and one never thinks: "OK, now, move on, I've got it". Well done, thank you!
Nice overview of the lens. I like your photography style - fun and moody, not at all boring. Good job! The heat problem is an earth problem. Not a lens problem. Damn this bloody planet of ours! :(
Thank you Path for this review it help me to understand the mine one mount L that I recently acquired for my recent too Blackmagic Cinema Camara 6K full frame!!
Thanks for that - very pragmatic review. This may be my next lens for my S5, but only after I have recovered from my planned acquisition of MFT's anamorphic Sirui 50mm L mount conversion 😋
This was the 2nd lens I purchased after buying the ubiquitous Sigma 16mm f/1.4 while converting from Canon to Sony Cams including the new a7 IV and two ZV-E10's. It is an Awesome lens and the tripod mount fits Arca-Swiss heads. It IS heavy but doesn't feel a whole lot different from my previous use of the Canon 100-400 L on my former 1DX. Everything about this lens is solid, smooth, and feature-rich. I seriously like it a lot better than my old Canon lens. 95mm K&F UV filter is fine on the lens and a lot less expensive than others and has equivalent quality in my opinion. Perfect for my use in Aviation and catching wildlife and birds. The price of this new Sports lens is an extremely great value for the performance and features you get! 👍 The lens handles stabilization extremely well, even when shooting at full 10 burst mode on the a7 IV. One note about the firmware mentioned in Pav's review. There is no USB Dock from Sigma for any Sony E Mount lens. Firmware, when released, is updated via the camera, not with a dock, like Canon's and others require for Sigma Lenses. (One more reason I went with Sony, and most of my new lenses are Sigmas with a couple of Tamrons and Sony's kicked in!). Can't say enough good things about this lens, and I have also come to rely on Pav for honest and highly informative reviews! Kudos to both Sigma and Pav....Excellent! ✅😜
Not having little window for polarizer of VND is kind of dumb. Most hoods do not have it though.... Squeezy sound is interesting, "that you expect" - nope... I have some zooms and do not have that yeee-yeee
this was pre-production copy - the plastic on plastic sound might be only a problem here. I have never heard anything like that from any other Sigma zoom before
How would you compare it against the sigma 100-400? In sigma 100-400 video you mentioned you like to take portraits with longer focal lengths. These lenses obviously aren't typical portrait lenses though ☺️ but I'd like to know what is your opinion on that. I also consider the tamron 70 180 f2.8. 😅 I also love the longer focal lengths for portraits 🙂 Szczęśliwego nowego roku!
Too bad it doesn't zoom internally, I would have preferred that like the Sony 200-600. All in all seems like a good modern super telephoto. I am more excited to see sigma's 70-200 f2.8 (I hope they made it as compact as possible)
@@PavSZ Hey if it got a 10-30% better AF and tighter stabilization compared to the EF version with the MC-11 adapter it would be the king its already a near-perfect zoom for real-world use.

Great review and video pav. The video was surprisingly impressive
Thanks Dan!

Thanks for sharing this!!
I didn't know that you can update the firmware of the Sony-E version via the camera. Sweet!
Again. Another great content. Your shots are cool.
I appreciate that! Thank you
Nice video Pav! This lens is certainly a workout 💪
Thanks Tom! It really is!!!
Great review Pav, I have the Sigma 150-500 (Canon Mount) but have been considering something a little more up to date. This could be the one :)
Thanks! Great lens but very heavy
@@PavSZ yes same as my earlier 150-500. It’s a bit of a chunk for sure lol
“Best for events, social distance events” hahahahaa, nice one!
The best! 😉
Not having little window for polarizer of VND is kind of dumb. Most hoods do not have it though.... Squeezy sound is interesting, "that you expect" - nope... I have some zooms and do not have that yeee-yeee

Wow! Early unit :-)
Indeed!

Szczęśliwego nowego roku!
5:40 Are these shots with Lumix or Sony?
Sony
I guess this would be
overkill for photo and just streaming huh?
that depends on what photos you take and how far you want to be from the camera when streaming
Hello would you recommend this over Tamron 150-500 the Sigma is cheaper by 150$ where I live buy some reviewers tell that af is better on Tamron
only you can decide - I can't tell any difference in AF performance between those two lenses
Is the lens suitable for shooting in the gym? Sports like judo, swimming, boxing
yes, for sure but it does need bright environment and depending on the size of the room, you might have to step back a little
For Lumix S1 : must have
For sure!
Did you use it with Sony or L mount? Thanks for the early review!
I used it on Sony a7III
@@PavSZ I wonder how it will perform on the S1 and S5. Hopefully it's OK with AF speed 🤞🏻
I might have a chance to test it out in the future
@@PavSZ I look forward to it, let's hope Sigma lend you it!
@@PavSZ Please. Would love to see how it performs on the Lumix S-series, particularly the S5.
I’m getting chromatic aberration 😭 is this normal with this lens. Blue edges
Best lens for my compact 6400
it would crush it haha
I have this ordered for MY A6400….I hope its a good combo. Do YOU have input on this same combo?
Too bad it doesn't zoom internally, I would have preferred that like the Sony 200-600. All in all seems like a good modern super telephoto. I am more excited to see sigma's 70-200 f2.8 (I hope they made it as compact as possible)
we are all waiting for that one
I wanted that one as well, I read rumors about it, but I went ahead and got the tamron. The sigma will probably be the best 70-200 value wise
Sigma and compact do not go in the same sentence hahaha
I think the 60-600 will be worth the wait...
maybe
@@PavSZ Hey if it got a 10-30% better AF and tighter stabilization compared to the EF version with the MC-11 adapter it would be the king its already a near-perfect zoom for real-world use.
This lense or the tamron 150-500? Idk which one I want
only you know the answer to your question
Would be nice to see with 2x tele
you can only use tele converters with L-mount version
Gutted that I bought the 100-400 now
100-400 is an amazing lens too! and it's smaller and lighter than this
@@PavSZ very true that and also with in body zoom on the a7iii I can get 600mm although be it with 10mp but tbf for digital images its very good still
How sharp is it?
27
It is a beast
it totally is!
@@PavSZ am i in for gimbal give away 🤗🤗🤗
This lens should be called creepy lens lol🤣 it’s cool tho
haha YES!
its comfortable for indoor shoot like function not sports
It should be ok. Steady hand and high ISO/shutter speeds and it will deliver. Although you will need big indoors to utilise zoom this long
Marzę o takich pro recenzjach po polsku😍
Niestety duzo mniejsza widownia jesli bym tylko mowil po polsku. Thank you for watching
@@PavSZ I understand.. I salute you🙂
Hey pretty cool 😎
Hey, thanks
You can save on gym membership though....
for sure
Anybody know work does it work with sony 2x teleconverter
all you need to do is watch the video your are commenting on to get an answer to your question 😉
Well, Stopped watching after you mention how big the lens is
it is big. Standard for this kind of lens
a product review needs to let viewers see the product ... in your hand the product is out of focus all the time ... ???
it's called depth of field
