Great review as always! And thanks for being one of the few who do great reviews around the L-mount! Being an S1R owner and wanting to shoot birds again this is the best and only option outside of changing systems, which I don't really want to. I do wish Sigma and Panasonic quicken up their release of interesting lenses though.
Thanks for watching. Yes it’s great to see Sigma coming out with this lens for those that need it. They have released quite a lot this year but I’m sure they aren’t done yet :)
@@GeekCulture I'm sure you are right! There are actually quite a few DG DN lenses but I hope they keep up the momentum and release some more cool special lenses that no one else does. Thanks again :-)
Waiting already 5 years for a super-telephoto lens for the L-mount - already ordered, thx for the review, eagerly awaiting the delievery by the end of the month.
Thanks for the video and your conclusion. Unfortunately you tested the lens on the 2 cameras I would use as last choice from the l-mount options. It would be interesting to see how the lens performs on a S1R or S5...
Great video, very interesting lens 🙏, would you need to turn on OS on the lens while using it with the SL2 (as it has ibis)? What are the differences btwn 1 and 2? Thanks
Hey Bobby, great review! Was wondering what's the af performance like on a Lumix S body? I would assume it would be better than Leica's and certainly much better than the Sigma body right?
Yes I would use a teleconverter if needed. I think 1.4x would be sufficient. The SL2’s high ISO performance isn’t the best so with a 2x may be challenging to get a really clean image.
Thanks for making a special video for l-mount.
My pleasure. Been a fan of the alliance and found it right to give it its own video
Thanks for reviewing this lens on the SL2! I’ve been waiting for a great super zoom for the L mount and this does not disappoint! Great photos!
Thanks Bryan! Appreciate you watching the vid and the kind words

Congrats! You will enjoy it
Really great review, that helps me a lot, thank you!
My pleasure. Thanks for watching
Bobby my wife got hers yesterday for her SL2. crazy lens and damn sharp.
Congrats!! It’s a fantastic lens!
Thank for your review, especially same lenses with two differ mount. I will waiting for this lens for my SL2s for wildlife photo.
Thanks for watching. Will be a nice addition to the SL2S
Thanks for the review. I’m looking at this for my S1R.
Thanks for watching. Would recommend checking out the 60-600 which is better performing I feel.
@@GeekCulture looks good, but the extra weight and near double cost don’t sell it to me when I want a lens for wildlife photography.
The images on the fpl look fantastic.
Great image quality coming from the camera when you nail focus

I had an S1R but swapped with my friend to use the SL2 for the review. I’ll be testing the S1R on it this week to see how it performs
@@GeekCulture can you please check, if the Lens is capable to use Dual IS on the Lumix? Also the AF speed and accuracy using animal face detection.
Sure will test it out
Great photos ! I will buy this lens for my Panasonic S5 👍
Thank you! Works well on the Lumix cameras
I have s5 too the price of this I can get the P1000 Nikon. Maybe better off
Images of the animals look really sharp! Were these all shot hand held? Great review.
Thanks! Yes all images shot handheld
@@GeekCulture Steady hands and good IBIS!

Thanks. Yes need to turn on OS on the lens as well. 1 is general settings, 2 is more for panning (left to right)
@@GeekCulture thank you 🙏
Man you have such great videos. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Hey Bobby, great review! Was wondering what's the af performance like on a Lumix S body? I would assume it would be better than Leica's and certainly much better than the Sigma body right?
Thanks Alan. Performance was about the same but I felt the burst mode was better with the Leica vs the S1R. Odd right?
@@GeekCulture I did not expect that given the SL2 has dual SD cards whereas the S1R has an xqd/CF express type b and SD card slots.
Hi would you use a teleconverter with it on the sls2? If so which one do you like best?
Thanks
Yes I would use a teleconverter if needed. I think 1.4x would be sufficient. The SL2’s high ISO performance isn’t the best so with a 2x may be challenging to get a really clean image.
Which one would you recommend between the 100-400 and 150-600 on the SL2?
150-600. Optics are better IMO
I just cancelled my EF version and ordered this instead. My S5 will be much happier.
Congrats
I'm curious about the AF feature with the Sigma 150-600mm sport lens. Have you tried this combo?
What AF feature are you referring to?
I'm thinking about putting 150-600 on my Fpl.
Can try it but it’s a bit challenging due to weight of the lens
