Hi Ashley, with services a tip when draining of the oil is to crack open the oil filling caps this will help vent drain all the oil.. also a sacrifice oil fill.. so replace all oil to correct level .. start and operate machinery for 10 to 15 minutes under load .. when the engine oil has cooled down but oil still warm.. drain off.. then refill with new oils.. you be surprised how much sludge will be still contained on your sumps.. 👍😀 keep up your good work bro .👍
FlashTechEngineering Good tips! Thanks for that.😃👍🏼
Really useful! I didn't know that each place needed different oil! You should also check your unloader valve and inline filter of you have them. Also, you can wash your airfilter in petrol and let it dry. Never needed to replace my original one.
Walt Spring Thanks for the tip. I had an issue with the unloaded valve recently, so I’ve only just changed it.😃👍🏼
You should put an hour meter on there. Very cheap and easy to install. Also a good idea to change pull cord once before season starts. Also clean your float cup.
Nice tips, thanks.👍🏼
Just what I need, I need to service my pressure washer so this came in really useful. Great Video.
Craig Ekins Nice one.😃👍🏼
about time to service my pressure washer
John Veit You will notice the difference when you do.😃👍🏼
A black sparkplug doesn't mean it's bad. The new one will become black really quickly so there is really no need to replace one unless it goes bad. Also you don't need to replace the oil screw every time you change your oil, why would you do that? If the screw is not striped then you can use it forever.
It would have been a good idea for me to have watched this video a long time ago Ashley. I kept meaning to get around to servicing my own pressure washer but never seem to have had the time! My final pressure washing job taught me a harsh lesson, as it went belly up, with an almighty bang! That was the end of it, it wasn't fixable & my pressure washing days ended there!
JD I used to like working on my first car, back in the days when you could do that sort of thing. So I guess that gave me a bit of an understanding of engines, and how important it is to service them regularly.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh Lesson learned Ashley 🙂
I have a digital hour tachometer fitted on all my pressure washers, generators and pump.. £12 on Amazon. A great way of recording services intervals. Oil on the spark plug isn't the best method. Copper grease works so much better and wont contaminate the electrode
AW Services Ah, that sounds like a handy gadget. Thanks.😃👍🏼

I have one on my Toro lawn mower considering getting more for the power washer, snow blower and generator. At $10 each good reminders to have.
Topman - I've paid to have it done previously - thinking it was a bit too specialised - you make it look straight forward - will add that to my already 56 item 'Coronavirus' to do list ;-)
Antony D It can be a messy job, but not too difficult if you’re careful.😃👍🏼
Great tips! Thank you!
Thanks!😃👍🏼
Nice video was watching to see what gearbox oil you was using, quick one for you the engine oil its self you don't use the dipstick oil should be filled to the top of the threads 😉
Yes, thanks. Hope you found the video useful.👍🏼
How funny, we just serviced our washer today 👍
cns worx It must be the time of year for it!😃👍🏼
Oil level for the engine should be right up to the filler neck
Craig Hunnam Ah, yes, that would be the maximum fill. I’ve only got it up to about minimum I suppose. I will give it a little top up, thanks.😃👍🏼
What chemicals do you use to remove oil stain?
Resiblock O.R.
Quick question... I want to get into roof cleaning and gonna get the scraper you suggested etc. Is it easier or harder when the moss is damp vs dried out? I thought maybe its a good winter job as it's soft but could be tougher work in summer when it's dry? I find dry gutter cleaning much harder!
Walt Spring The gutter vac seems to prefer it when the moss is damp, but with roof cleaning, I suppose it’s easier to move the moss around when it’s dry. But I just try and get on with it either way really.😃👍🏼
Could you put a piece of guttering with a stop end, under the oil drain hole, to divert the flow to the bowl. May be less messy.
Good idea!😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh I just bought one of these recently it can be folded to suit your needs when draining oil from the engine of your pressure washer, I think it is a great job👍
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Draper-Foldable-Flexible-Collapsible-Funnel-Pourer-Fluid-Engine-Oil-Filler-04954/370056428757?epid=2295585964&hash=item562914fcd5:g:bw8AAOSwuJRb4wA6
Hi I have preasure washer the same like yours and I'm curious if you had any problem with gearbox oil screen as mine is getting cracked i replaced with a new one and same problem again
No, never had that issue. Sorry.
I service mine every 10 jobs might be over kill but better safe than sorry also I clean the air filter foam and soak in fresh engine oil also I would get into the habit of checking valve clearances. Oh and dont screw the dipstick in or you are running on low oil just put it in down to the threads then its correct.
Yes, great tips. Thanks.👍🏼
Hello, I noticed that your 15W40 oil says multi grade MINERAL OIL……is that the same as 15W40 MOTOR OIL?
Best to check with the supplier of your machine for the correct oil to use.😉👍🏼
Thank you for this video. One question. The engine oil deep stick has no min nor max marks. Where is the right level? Thanks.
Yes, when you screw it in the level should be near the top of the dipstick.👍🏼
@@aemackintosh thank you.
I find it easier to take the wheel off when draining the oil from the motor.
Alan Beale Seems like a hassle, but yeah, why not. Good idea.😃👍🏼
Take the carb bowl off and clean that also )
Great tip.👍🏼
Hey Ashley
Are the oils you use the same on all honda engine?
I have a honda gp 200
Thanks 😊 love ur videos they are so helpful
Not sure. It’s probably a good idea to check the manual or the supplier who sells them should be able to help.😉👍🏼
@A.E.Mackintosh Cleaning Services will do mate 👍
Cheers for the videos I have found them very helpful in my pressure washing journey 😀
Hi,
Great video yet again......could you tell me what you used to remove oil stains?
I've got an old stain on my driveway that I want to remove myself.
Thanks. I use Resiblock O.R. 👍🏼
Hi Mate, have you ever had to use Kerosene when changing your oil or do you just empty and fill with new? Thanks
My gx390 was filled with Diesel by mistake..I drained the Diesel as best I could and got it running but it smokes when it's running..is it just burning off the Diesel or do I need to take it to a small engine mechanic?
I’m not sure, but I would imagine it will not run so smoothly for a while.
Hi Andy
I have pmd you.
Any advice on where to buy oil ?
Halfords? Or other suggestion
Your original pressure washer supplier should be able to help you there.😃👍🏼
Hi Ashley could you point me in the right direction for a start up pressure washer that doesn’t cost 2k there’s just so many and so many opinions. I just want something that’s going to do the job as good as a professional without breaking the bank just in case it doesn’t go as well as I hoped thanks
My advice, get a decent machine from the word go. You will do a decent job more quickly and you won’t have to replace it for a long time. This is the perfect time of year to go for it. If it doesn’t work out for some reason I’m sure you could easily sell the equipment on.😉👍🏼
It should say in the Honda manual you get with the Honda engine the correct amount of oil in liters the engine requires, you don't happen to have a link where you buy your pressure washer pump oil please
Josh I get mine from the same supplier that I got the machine from, jet wash direct. I will put a link in the description.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh Thanks👍
Hi pal I've got same as you but can you give me exact gear oil to use and what make there is loads 80w-90 thanks pal stay safe
Hi. Just bought one of these. Which fuel do you run it on? Is the new e10 that seems to be everywhere OK? Thanks!
Yeah, it is fine.👍🏼
Hey mate , I wish u can help with my one .
I’ve got the same engine gx390 with different water pump brand , my issue is that when I’m using the machine I have to adjust the power manually, either put up more or put it down , it doesn’t adjust itself when I’m using it any ideas of what could be the problem?
When checking oil n engine u don't screw in dipstick r else u will overfill n damage engine
Nice tip.👍🏼
Have you got a video of how to change pull cord?
No, sorry.
Hi Ashley
Just bought same model as yours, Did it come with oil in all 3 compartments.
Cheers.
Not sure now, I’ve had it quite a while.
Hi Ashley. Quick question. My washer, which is exactly the same as yours, is mounted in my van. How do you advise servicing in this situation? I presume I will have to unbolt the washer to drain the oil?
You might have to take it out to service it?
@@aemackintosh I though that would be the case. Thanks Ashley, much appreciated
Hello sir please tell me how long can run pressure washers continuously
A honda like this could possibly go for weeks and more, best to give it a rest and cool down. but it would just keep running imo. i run them sometimes for 8 hours without switching them off, filling them up while they are still running. Hardy machines.
hi, i have a gx390 and the oil has now starting spilling out the oil cap of the gearbox do you know what might be causing this? thank you.
Too much oil possibly? Or maybe it’s the wrong cap?
Hi sorry to bother you,I just would need some advice if that's ok,I'm going to get a pressure washer for my WC round just wondering if you could give me some advice on what is a good petrol pressure washer,I heard anything over 3200 psi and what about GPM? Any advice would be great thank you
I use a 21 litres per minute machine.👍🏼
Do you know were I can find a suction hose for a gx200???
No, sorry. You could try asking Rutland Pumps or AC Pressure Washers.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh wpud it be dependent on the pump
I don’t think it matters too much. It’s just regular hose pipe really.😃👍🏼
I just picked mine up yesterday. What lpm and bar is yours?
The Young Ottoman 21litres per minute.💪🏼😃👍🏼
A.E.Mackintosh Cleaning Services same here. What’s your take on the double intake feed? Feeding the pump from both sides?
Yeah, not all taps run quick enough for the machine, so I set mine up so it draws the water it needs from the bin. You could even feed two hoses into the bin if you have access to 2 taps. Or just reduce the revs a little, but then you won’t get the same power out of it.😃👍🏼
The real question is when do us window cleaners stop work because of this virus? Anyone???
ws window cleaning Video on this coming today.😃👍🏼
Are the manufacturers of these machines living under a rock? Why no holes under the drain bungs so oil dosent go everywhere?
Pre buy your service parts and wait until you have used your machine and it’s still hot, dump your oils while all the particles are in suspension in the oil ie: immediately.
Wait for it to cool before re filling.
Blow around spark plug to remove debris before removing plug.
Set your spark plug gap before screwing plug in by hand only before applying ratchet spanner.
It would be good idea to adjust valve lash clearance, for that motor, is lots on RUclips about it.
Never use 98 Ron fuel or burnt exhaust valves.
Purge out all air in supply hoses if you want your pump to live a long life, and never run a pump without water while testing a machine, or run it without flow trigger on for long periods.
If it’s someone else’s hose, flush it first before connecting to supply.
Cover your open ends with a cap to stop hornets building a nest.
Hi ash you okay pal.your voice sounds a bit croaky .
And no more uploads to the channel. So just checking you not cought anything.?
Spencer j Hey, thanks for checking on me. I’m good, I was just getting over a cough actually when I recorded this. It all got a bit nasty for a while, the whole are you working/should you be working thing. So I took down my last couple of posts and I’ve been taking a break from social media a bit. I’ve got some things ready to go, so I will be back very soon! I hope you’re getting on ok at the moment.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh
Well to tell you the truth ash I've not worked for the two weeks. I want to go in but I just don't want to risk taking anything home to the family especially my 2 year old boy. He suffers with a viral wheeze .he can't cope with a cold never mind this virus that we all trying to avoid.
You been in at all and tryed to work ?
I totally understand, you’ve got to do what’s right for you, it’s a horrible situation. I’ve been doing bits and pieces at work, following guidelines of course, and being very careful. I know some people just have to work also. I really just don’t want to get into that argument on social media. Take care.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh
No probs
Take care ash .look forward to the next upload 👍🏻🖖
Thanks for your kind comments, I appreciate it. Look after yourself and your family.😃👍🏼
Do u mange to work all yeah round pal
Yes, definitely. I’m not a big fan of the cold, but I do my best to keep going if I can.😉👍🏼
I'm starting up soon love your videos pal I'll graft in all weather's don't mind money money ha keep up the videos pal
honda say don't screw the dipsick in to check oil level on the gx390 engine...just place it in the hole, your oil level will be low
Ah, ok, thanks for the tip.😃👍🏼
Yes quite correct. Test the oil level by inserting the dip stick until the threads meet
Hi Ash, what did you use for that oil stain removal ? i cleaned a drive yesterday which had a nasty oil stain & it needs to be gone. Thanks
I’ve used Resiblock Oil Remover which has worked pretty well for me in the past.😃👍🏼
