    I removed the air filter and use my hand to control airflow
    For a moment, oil sputtered out of the exhaust, and the engine did turn over and started, before dying almost immediately when I removed hand & left key in On position. I tried this twice
    Is this a concern?

    Thanks for the advice! My brand new Simpson wouldn’t start. The air filter felt a little grimy so I left it off temporarily. The spark plug didn’t seem oily but I wiped it off anyway and reinstalled it. After a few cranks it, it started right up!

    Had to clean caburator and Air intakte area of Engineering Oil before restart. remember to top up with Engineering Oil, if not- the Oil lever switch turn off ignition. Thanks for the good video that helped me some of the Way. Greetings from Denmark

    Man I bought this exact pressure washer a few months ago. I knew it had been tested so I wasn't too concerned. This shipping box had oil down the side inside of it. I knew it must have gotten roughed up a little but all was intact. I finally got my trailer built and plumbed up. Wouldn't start for anything. Went through all the normal reasons for not starting. But alas emptied the carb bowl and out comes the most golden honey brown "gas" and the slickest gas I've ever felt too. LOL. Got all the oil out and replaced the gas. BOOM. Fired right up. Thanks so much, this was gold.

    I have a Simpson that ran great when I got it last fall. This spring it didn't want to spray right, and I pumped the trigger a few times, and it started working just as I was ready to give up. The very next day it didn't want to spray again, and it started to spray like the day before and just then the engine died, and I have not been able to get it to run since. Knowing spark, fuel, air I checked all these things, three times over. Still have no idea what the problem is. For as much as this thing cost I would expect better than this.

    Same concept for a key start? Turn key a few times vs. pulling rope?

      Yes you could but better to pull to save the starter some life.

    My pressure washer tipped over in my shed over the winter and this is exactly I did to get it started. I also replaced the spark plug because it was saturated with oil, you can clean them but it's easier to put a new one in and you can eliminate any spark issues. One more thing if it's an older unit and this happens starting fluid is your friend.

    I got one of these brand-new out-of-the-box with no valve stem seal on the exhaust so oil was going into the exhaust then after I fix that I found out the fuel shut off valve was bad and the float in the carburetor was allowing fuel to bypass into the air intake and flood the pistons then settle in the crankcase when not in use

    Use a ratchet to take out carb cap plug. Wrench can easily strip that bolt.

    CAN THIS PUMP RUNNING WITHUOT WATER TO TEST THE ENGINE OR WATER HAS TO BE CONNECTED ALL THE TIME?

      @DjBlaze604 Год назад

      Unless you want a pay for a new pump never run the pump without water as the water cools the pump!!!

    On The bottom part of the unloader there’s a arrow and says in, it’s not 3/8. Can have a 90 from the pump and install unloader from the bottom for ease change when it’s time to replace the unloader?

    • @Spraywell
      @Spraywell  3 года назад

      unloaders WITHOUT ez start don't have that ball at the bottom port and that port is an INLET where you can plumb it from your pump like you described.

    Those are good points when we are transporting the Pressure washer from place to place. New units are not shipped with oil these days.

      They say they aren't shipped but I own a pressure washing company and every unit I've bought has a little oil in it when it gets to me. I'm guessing from testing and they don't drain it completely

    Step 4, make sure the oil is full, so the low oil shut down isn't the cause for the no start!!

    Good video. I must be in the 5%. My new GX390 pulls easily as if there is no compression stroke. It ran well for the first ten minutes hesitated couple of times within about 10 seconds of each other. Then it died and wouldn't start. Someone suggested to disconnect the yellow oil sensor wire. That didn't work.

    Thanks a lot. This has been a big help. I have the same engine on my air compressor that ended up in a tilt position. Pulled the spark plug, Pulled the pull cord 20 time's, Restall the spark plug, it started right up. It smoked a little after start up, let ran for a few minutes , now good as new...Thanks

    • @Spraywell
      @Spraywell  3 года назад

      Awesome. It'll smoke like no tomorrow once it starts but after 10 minutes it should stop smoking and be all good.
