- Out of the stormy horizon appears a ghost ship! We approach the shipwreck as close as we dare to get a closer look as we are challenged by the ever present changing conditions, freezing temperatures, and uncharted anchorages while sailing the Pacific Ocean waters of Chilean Patagonia!

IMO, the best sailing channel on YT bar none. The spectacular scenery, the remoteness, the navigation and arriving in distant places is fascinating. The bonus for us, is experiencing the highly experienced sailing skills of these two....thanks you so much for the never ending, exciting and interesting content.
I agree
Fun music! Great seeing you “live!” Sunday 💕💜❤️♥️💙
I think it’s a good idea to keep that ship there to mark the shallow spot.
True that!
She Sings To...! Kate, the gift that just keeps giving... 😆 (Best ask Santa for some Gloves for Christmas... 😉 ) Hey... Stunning as usual guys... Be safe... 🙏
Quite a process to moor each night, but the scenery is worth it!
Peaceful in its routine way
I live just north of there a ways near Puerto Octay, we have lived here 10 years now, but I visited Bahia Aldunate recently and Puerto Cisnes by boat. We definitely got Patagonia fever. We were down there in March 2023.
I will say we like the warmer weather where we are just a few days north.
Thank you for the video.
Jim in Chile.
i look forward to the next episodes all week and I'm never disappointed.
Thank you! That means so much!
Thanks fo sharing!!!👏👏👏👍👍👍
thank you - i like the capt cook old sailing stuff - teamwork a rare thing today it is nice to see - landlocked missouri
Its always interesting to see a shipwreck. Its in decent shape for being so old.
Another nice Caleta for anchorage. So many beautiful places around there. And they always come with challenging geo or weather conditions which demand good sailing skills. So good to see how y’all face them all with a positive attitude. Y’all rock!
Thank you for the nice comment!
Love your videos. Kate almost broke out into a happy dance at 9:24 with a wind speed of 3 knots and boat speed of 4. Editing and blend of music is great. Keep having fun, stay warm and stay safe. Bill
Great teamwork 😊
Nice job!
Thanks! :-)
Curtis, Thx for explaining the details of the anchorage process. That was interesting!
Glad to help!
I wait every weeks for your videos, and then I livi it ti watch last like favor “sweet” dessert.great one!
Wow thanks for the creative and kind comment!
The Golfo de Penas (Gulf of Sorrows) is called that because of the number of widows it has generated; women who lost their husbands have their sorrow in the gulf.
Definitely a challenging pass!
@@SailingSweetRuca Now that you have the first-person experience, think about what those sailors had to do in wooden sailing boats, heavily loaded, with almost no ability to uphaul. It was common for them to be dragged by the wind and waves into the breakers, and they were sailors who almost never knew how to swim, so the number of women who were widowed when their men tried to beat the Gulf of Penas was enormous.
Wow. Great edit. Great location.
Thank you!
Great video!
Great again by the just spotted what looks like chafe on your fore sail sheet, where it is rubbing on the inner stay.
How are you keeping the ice from forming on your decks and lifelines etc, everything looks so clean and safe… just curious…. John, Ontario, Canada
Thanks for showing coordinates. Like seeing exactly where u are. u 2 r a joy to watch.
Thanks for that!
Confirm that the lat lon are very helpful for those of us who intend to follow your wake
Great video, love you guys...
Glad you enjoyed it!
Don't know why I haven't asked before but with three shore lines out, does the anchor do anything? Or is it just helpful getting those lines out and back in? I am guessing the anchorages are tight making swing control worth the effort of putting those lines out. This is something we should practice, though we tend to much more crowded anchorages
👌👌👍
A very expensive channel daymarker.
Good thing you guys are not in the Caribbean. At those speeds, it would be embarrassing to have a paddle board or two go by at high rate of speed and have one of them ask if you needed a tow. LOL
HaHa good one.
👏👏👏
is chafe a problem with an inner forestay? looks like your jib/jib sheets pass over it a lot? ( I'm guessing at the nomenclature.. not a sailor)
Are there any dangerous animals on any of those islands? If not then what is the dominant animal group? Any Kakapo equivalents? What about rodents and deer? And midges?
😀👍👍👍❤
wreck not ghost ship.....its run aground
Good point! We made the change based on your suggestion :-) Thanks!
wonderful as always Thank You
😃
