@@isaac3140 Trump actually stopped the Drone strikes. They restarted after Biden got into office. Also under Obama and Biden we saw major flares in hostilities in the Middle East, while under Trump things were becoming relatively cold. At least colder than the region had been for a while.
As for Bush? Can't speak on him honestly since aside from the wars that our government has continued he isn't as important nowadays.

Well, Randolph my boy, Fenris is an Ice Death World located in the Segmentum Obscurus, homeworld of the Vlka Fenryka. It's cold as Hel, twice as inhospitable and filled with things that want you dead.
And it's intact. One up on the DA.
Kinda dissapointed the story didn't have them intervening in the Mexican civil war. That would've had some killer spaghetti western vibes.
And, come on, who wouldn't want to see Pancho Villa in a mech or have Zapata lead a cavalry charge against Saxonian mechanized infantry?
That would've been absolutely badass.
Yo, yes. And the narrative themes, much less the AMAZING design potential, would mesh with the concepts and struggles they're already examining so well. Vaquero culture and the struggle for agency/freedom in the face of ownership, land barons, cattle barons, etc. All the money.
A nice touch, and an interesting twist, would be to have the Americans arrive in all their glory, airships flying high as bald eagles caw, and find that Alvarado Obregon has already won the battle they're trying to intervene in.

And better yet; based on actual history. I would have loved to see a young George Patton riding a hoverbike through Mexico.
So the Usonians have a diesel punk Protoss Carrier.
The Knox is also a great mech. Literally eliminates entire squads with ease, before they even get a chance to fight back.

It's pretty weird how the Arabs get all the glory while Hindu bros get ignored. Not to mention the actual Arabic numbers doesn't look like the numbers used in non-Arabic countries.
Arabs also take credit for safeguarding Greek texts, when the Persians and their libraries they pillaged had gathered and protected them for centuries prior. They take credit for feats of Roman engineering, and are too often deaf to the cries of the ancient cultures and cities they destroyed.

Maby the third dlc will be about all the "minor" factions with missions for each one. Usually each campaign is about 8-9 missions for most factions I'm sure they can fit in 2 for each. Maby more.

Hey at the very least the American "oppressors" don't actually rule over the locals and instead just maintain a co-operative regime (could be either good or bad) who will do business deals with them (pretty much the only requirement to be considered a co-operative government is to be open to American businesses). At the very least the American's don't completely set up a colonial government and then use slave labor and completely steal the resources away

Because of US involvement in the Middle East since the 70's I feel like people forget how small of a presence we had in the region, particularly the Arab world, immediately after WW2. Supporting Israel and installing the shah of Iran were the main US engagements in the middle east in the immediate aftermath of WW2. We even sided with Egypt in the Suez crisis against the UK, France and Israel. At this time our efforts were more focused on Asia and Latin America. Communism triggered us more than oil until the OPEC crisis in the 70's.

The amount of Kaisers on that mission was BS. That is really absurd levels of top tier units, which no single Usonian mech can counter. The Knox is a really fun mech however.

@@a.cunningham4974 US Navy Admiral Rank is a 4 stars on the color. The "Full Admiral" is a 4 star general position.
A Four Star General is a main-line general, What you're confusing with is a Five-Star General. Which only used ONCE during the First World War, General Pershing of the American Expeditionary Force during the First World War.
So, His father is a four star Admiral is fine, which equal to a General of the Army, Air Force and Navy as well. As they command a Fleet, a Army Theater, Air Combat Theater and a entire Expeditionary Force.

Did you know, that Brunhildes design is actually based off of the German WW1 Tank, the AV7. It shares the same shape and basic design. It looks like a damn brick, had three machine guns on each side and one in the rear, and had one Anti-Armour turret mounted on the top of the tank. Brunhilde is just the mech version of the AV7.

Is it me or does it feel like they made the story a little to black and white? You would think that the conflict would be due to global pressure or something that caused the war in our universe, nope, it's a literal secret evil organization that has all the moral complexity of a Saturday morning cartoon villain. It's very weird to see just how simple the morality is in this game given that it is trying to be an alternative universe of one of the most morally grey and petty wars ever.
Not at all.
While Fenris is very much evil, yes, there is still plenty moral Ambiguity in Iron Harvest. More often then not, Fenris doesn't CREATE a Crisis, it just takes Advantage of the Actions of others, who are doing them for their own Reasons. Fenris pulls strings, but in the end, they mostly use and worsen already existing Conflicts to further their own Goals.
The "deep" and "intense" psychological discussion from the jingoistic old man with an inexplicable scar across his cheek despite being from a country that prioritizes neutrality wasn't grey enough for you?
In all seriousness though, I was expecting something far greater than, "America is cool, other countries dumb," after the little plot-twist and "betrayal" to his son. I was expecting some deep discussion where he lists a bunch of legit reasons why his plan makes sense, and will work out in the long-term to benefit both countries in a very morally ambiguous way. Throw in a good reason why a rebellion would probably do more harm than good for the stability of the country. At least an attempt to make the admiral seem something more than a doofy villain. I'm surprised that he wasn't given a mustache to twirl as he rambled on to his son about his evil plan.
Though a little black and white the story still holds. Not everyone can pull off a good morally ambigous story. I say give me good yet simple story than one that aspires for complexity with grey characters only to be botchered by bad writing and choked on its own ambitions. After all, it's a videogame.
Also if I recall, the game builds on previously established universe, so the themes may have been already set.

Simplistic, 'evil' villains are definitely the majority. Usually the exceptions are from sources in which the villains are the main character. I.E. the Joker. Seems kinda unfair to go at them for that when that's by far the norm.
Not that I think it's OK. Villains are my favourite type of character and are far more flexible/impactful characters than even the protagonists. But again, I'm surprised when the villain isn't a walking cliché of demon incarnate.

I got an ad just as our German friend said OIL at the campfire scene, so now I just have this image in my head of a guy staring somebody down and when they ask what he wants he just says OIL.
Wait, if Usonia is parallel to our America, why would they care about Arabia's; oil? Up until the 60's, 90% of the worlds' oil was produced in the US.
I'd guess it's more about denying it from other powers than necessarily needing it themselves.
@@tobiasparke4217 Except they directly say that they dont want to buy the oil from others, and just want to take it directly. The game cares more about having a political message then even following its own logic
Maybe in that timeline the oil reserves that were found in mid 1920s IRL never got prospected, so an actual restrictions on domestic production were put in place.

Ya know, just rewatched the base game and this, and it pained me to see Bbrunhilde not carrying anyone making her broadsides fire faster. The only time that she wasn't able to hold a chokepoint solo for me was when there was like 4 anti-mech units all nailing her.
