Wat happened is that the original storyline it was going to be joy not wanting to see Riley grow up and wanted to keep her like a child forever so she was going to have the whole trip in Riley’s mind with fear and at the end she would realized that it’s ok to grow up (this was based on the director experience with his daughter and how fast she was growing up) but when they change the story to be centered on “it’s ok to not feel ok”they deleted some of this scenes
Ennui is a different type of boredom. This is childlike boredom off having nothing to do. From what I understand, ennui is a more of a directions emotion where you feel directions.
I wish they could keep this in because I remember I saw inside out in the cinema with my mum and my big brother when I was little I can’t wait for number two
i like this tbh... rly weird how this has so little views and stuff.. i like the idea of joy not always knowing whats suppose to happen. in the movie u normally see her take charge with what to do at what time but in this clip u see she doesn't know how to react in certain cinareos.. obv this wouldn't make sense for the movie mostly bc not being able to control yourself Is a symptom of adhd which riley doesn't have cannonicly.. rly cool tho
I mean, it’s also a symptom of just being a child, lol. It would be ADHD if it affected her life to the point she literally cannot function as well as her peers
The hardest part of growing up, besides simply surviving, is holding onto your happiness. Or rather the things that make you happy. Cus either someone gets in the way to take your happiness away, whether it’s intentionally out of petty spite or whatever. Or you lose your source of happiness due to forces beyond your control. Like if your best friend or loving relative died. Or if your family had to move away, forcing you to leave your friends behind.
0:39 I actually loved listening to orchestras and symphonies as a kid because i could sit back and imagine scenes to the music Also that stuffed animal scene was so cute. I came up with so many plots for my stuffed animals just like that

2:30 the emotion on the far right, is that supposed to be disgust? She looks very different, sadness does aswell. The storyboard was probably made before the designs were fully finished
Yeah the emotion on the far right is disgust, what happened is that the designers originally wanted to represente her as disgusting or not so visually pleasing but at the end they decided to make her pretty and make her feel disgusted about everything
I wish the 5 main emotions had a 6th emotion, “surprise” it would make sense too, in the scene where Riley is eating broccoli, everyone gets captivated by seeing their dad make airplane noises, which would be perfect for surprise to jump in as a character. Joy could say, “Oh! That’s Surprise! He’s basically the thing keeping Riley focused, or engaged with something. He’s really good at keeping things going, for everyone. But it’s only on stuff Riley actually wants to know, not boring stuff..” and his personality would basically just be him making audible gasps and being like, “whaaaatttt.” But, he’d be kind of an alert system for the other emotions, like if he saw something of interest when the other emotions are doing things he’d be like, “You guys! You gotta see this!!”
I haven't looked into the behind the scenes of this film since the initial home release but I am curious about the early drafts. I don't know how they compare to the final version of the movie but I like the more slice of life approach in this sequence.
As you grow older, it gets harder to stay happy because it feels everything that comes in your way wants to prevent you from having fun.

It honestly sucks to see this scene deleted. I feel like it would portrayed growing up in just as good as a way as the final product did

Tbh this is kinda sad how relatable this is.
Before I was diagnosed with ADHD this is how my parents treated me
How they treat you now?
@@guillermocervisalmeron2209 better but they still get frustrated when I keep fidgeting

im sorry for the way it is
@@SC3NEWH0ReXD I’m sorry for you it’s probably because they don’t have ADHD so they don’t understand you that much
This is how living with adhd feels like:
fr i tought that (i dont have it tho)
I was gonna say the same thing. This actually made me sad because I was treated very similar as a kid too.
everyone experiences this.. this is not just an adhd thing
Real
Now we can see, that Ennui(Boredom) had a right to be earlier in Rileys mind :)

I'm surprised Ennui was not in the first film. Kids get bored very easily.
