We went to Spain and Portugal in June and absolutley loved it!, food was great, ship is a bit dated but staff were excellent. Loved it so much we've booked Arvia for next year!
We went on Ventura a month ago to Madeira and the Canaries. Yes the ship is oldish but well maintained with a wonderful crew. My only downside was the food. I have not cruised for many years but it was not up to what I had expected. Having to have lunch buffet style in an overcrowded cafe was not what I expected. I expected all normal meals in the dining room. I had no problem with breakfast except the overcrowding. There was no sense of relaxation over the meals. Very disappointed. Food aside it was great. Evening entertainment fabulous; bars great. We had the drinks package but would not do so again. Thinking of trying Cunard next time.
You can have lunch in the main dining rooms too, Sindhu serve lunch on select days and the glass house also is now open for lunch. Tons of choices and obviously room service too

@@letoutube yes but that’s the point.. there is a choice whether you want to dress up or not. I love it but get some don’t, however plenty of cruise lines don’t have celebration nights, so if you are going P&O you have to accept that is part of their experience
Hi I noticed you had child's drink packages. I didn't realise adults can get this. Would I be allowed an Ultimate drinks package and my wife be able to get the child's package or must you have the same type?
You say you paid £598 for the cruise. Was that the price for each of you. .or the combined price? By the time you add meals and drinks that price must have jumped up a fair amount. I don't know why, but I always assumed meals and drinks were included when you booked a cruise
I have just booked this cruise for myself and my husband, we have an inside cabin next month and paid the same price, you only pay a nominal amount for speciality restaurants, the rest are included in the price. The drinks seem to be average pub prices, you can't buy a drinks package for 4 nights on p&o.
Deck 7 promenade was best during evenings but all the bars are fitted with 4 foot railings and can prevent you from seeing acts.Also theatre seats are very low and people's heads get in the way when watching shows . Comedians were also rubbish,who hires these people.

Great review! We will be on exactly this same cruise on Ventura in October 2022, mostly to try out to see if we will like P&O for longer cruises.

For many, dressing up is the definition of a nightmare, and making it in a holiday environment even worst! :P

I just switched from a Cunard cruise to a P&O cruise, this looks more my style.
Have just booked for 2024, only spain/France but with third and fourth place free, couldn't say no for my family of 8
Best thing was no photographers and salesmen bothering you as in other cruise lines especially MSC

Do you think this ship is good for 11 and 14 year olds? Debating whether to book but need kids to enjoy it too

Can you leave the ship without buying a p&o excursion package?
Yes, although there are some ports were you are not near the center. There is normally a transfer bus which is chargeable.

Excellent cruise but let down by the lido deck 15 with its 1920 decor and shoddy wooden tables and bland sunbeds.

It's only Iona that are trialing no testing, you have to for any other ship.
I'll was on board about a month ago it wasn't that good Ventura is showing it age the food is terrible very salty
😂on ventura now very bad entertainment, also ran out of schar gluten free bread the substitute is really disgusting.
