11 pockets done! Wow.🙀. Love the story of your ring. Brightens the day to hear wonderful things like this with all the horrible stories in the news these days. Way to go, Mike for surprising your sweetheart!
Hi Gayle!! I love your "Scrappy Saturdays"!! This past year has been rough on families all over!! I can just imagine how much your granddaughter wants to spend time with you and you with her!! When it happens, it will be so much fun!! I always enjoy watching you decorate your book page pockets!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)
Thank you for the tutorial. Hearing you speak of your granddaughter was so heartfelt. My 9 year old asked me if we would ever hug again...grands are so special.
Well, now I know that I am 5 years older than you, I graduated in 1969 and was married in 1972. Married 49 years in September this year, my how time flies. Love scrappy Saturdays! Your ring is very pretty. 😊
Love the story about your ring. It is beautiful and so happy Mr. A replaced it in the same way as your original. My dad gave my mom pear shaped diamonds for earrings one year for Christmas. She wasn’t expecting them at all and when she opened them she dropped one in the carpet. Needless to say we were all on our hands and knees looking for it. Since they were unmounted it was nearly a needle in a haystack.
One day was pretty much the same as the other for me since I don't work anymore. Then along came Scrappy Saturday and it gave me a reason to look forward to the weekend again. Scrappy Saturdays forever!
Good Morning Gayle! Wow you got a lot done in one hour and I always love the collage pockets. Glad you have a ring back that is from your hubby. Have a beautiful day, take care!
Good Afternoon all!! It has only been 1 month since shoulder surgery so I am living vicariously through you Miss Gayle!! Can’t wait to get back in my craft room!!
It has been a while since I have been by to watch you. Our holidays were quiet, but nice. And I know just how you feel about the tree. We start the kids home schooling on Monday, so I suspect if we don't get the tree down by tomorrow it will be next weekend. I guess that is ok because we only got it up the Saturday before Christmas. I love Scrappy Saturdays. And it looks as if we may be moving into our new house after January 20th. So busy stuff coming up. I need to make a Crazy Chicken Lady Journal for our real estate agent. She has been an angel.
My love affair with paper , pens, ink & crafting started when I was a small child and it has never really gone away! In college I loved going into the bookstore browsing all the great stuff. So I completely understand the fascination with paper! I really love watching scrappy Saturday! Take good care and have a blessed day! Hugs, Chris L.
Or...Scraphappy doo day!! Well kind of corny!!! And a bit like Rachael...So glad you got to spend a few w/ at least part of your family... Mine are back in the same time zone!!!! They will have to isolate now....before my son has to go back to work... And Going to be a Grammy again!!!...What a Christmas gift that was!!! Love the Bling...and such a sweet story!!! Mike is a keeper!! LOL😻💜
Scrappy Saturdays seem to be about two things: Using up scraps and making more so we can look forward to many more happy scrappy Saturdays in the future. Love your Use It Up Tusedays, too. You go, Gayle!
Must confess in my busy ness of life I forget to watch you more often Gayle rally love your tute on making pockets and tuck spots Must confess enjoy your slightly shorter tutes Many thanks for the joy you bring in our crafting world Can relate to your grandma's and missing them etc We live 2 states away here in Australia from them. Yes not seeing them very often pulls at the heart strings.
I love every one of your videos. You are so creative and I'm still learning bunches from them. Your collage's are espically nice !! I love watching you make them !
Awww Gayle! What a nice story about your ring. I just knew Mike would surprise you with something really cool for Christmas! While you were talking today I realized that you graduated 1 year before me and was married 1 year before my hubby and I. We have 3 children. 2 girls and a boy. And 3 grand babies. All boys though. No girls to craft with.
Thanks, Barbara! I’ll share with Mr. A. We watched a bit of a tear jerker last night, Big Miracle, so I guess we can switch to a little action adventure tonight! Lol! ❤️
I took down my little Christmas tree while watching you just now. Kitchen window will get unchristmased today too. Kinda sad to have it all gone, I enjoyed it. ❤️
I always have mixed feeling with taking down the Christmas decorations. Sad it’s over and glad to clean up and have things look fresh for the new year. ❤️
That sure seemed to go quick. I think this was a great way to do your pockets. Sewing and distressing off camera. Should be quicker for you too. Thanks for the fun Gayle💝💝💝
Poor little one, I hope you can actually get to spend time with all your grandbabies this year. Have to start putting all the Christmas away today. Clean slate for the new year ! ;)
Uh oh. Watch what you wish for. Those scraps will multiply in the night while you sleep and before you know it you’ll have to buy furniture to create places for them all.😉 At least that’s what happened to me. Thankfully I have a handy husband who built me a large wall unit for a Christmas present. So for at least a little while I have places for all my scraps.
Grand babies just melt your heart don't they !x Matilda 8 told my daughter that she was going to stay with Gramar Sue for a month as soon as she can !!.
Good day to you. I am excited that I finally have scraps. As a newbie I was ripping into whole sheets but now I have a bag full and I now get it. It gets overwhelming. I wish I was a neat crafter but oh am I messy. Oh well whatever gets the job done. Hugs💕💕💕Veronica
You got 11 done. So yes you got ahead. And you got rid of a lot of scraps. Isn’t Mike the romantic. He was able to pull off the surprise and present it the same why he did many years ago. I love that.
Good Mornin! You got so much done with your scraps today. I soooo need to get to working on dwindling mine down :O Goodness me, they add up fast don't they? Big hugs my friend
hehehe hello gayle~ or you could “dump” the scraps in a flat tray & you could then easily rummaged them according to the sizes you’re collaging rather than pulling them out of the sandwich bags one by one? i apologize but just an idea? love from Singapore~
I have learned that I need to make some kind of different pockets. All I ever make are just straight across or a corner pocket. I need to make some with the tucks or folded up.
Morning, Deb! The tear ruler is available on my website (listed in the description box under my videos) under Gayle’s Favorite Things at gayleagostinelli.com/gayles-favorite-things/. ❤️
Gayle, maybe someone else has suggested this...but I have an idea that will help a tiny bit with missing hugging the people you love!!! Cross both arms around yourself as if giving yourself a hug. Actually squeeze, just like you would to hug someone. You'll feel the sensation of adrenaline, or whatever it is, that makes it feel so good. The idea is to stand across from the person or people you want to hug, and BOTH or ALL of you do this at the same time. "1, 2, 3...HUG!" It's amazing! It gives you ALMOST the same feeling as if you were able to hug them! Try it...let me know what you think. ❤
Hi Gayle, we’ve just been put in National Lockdown till at least middle of February, so no seeing grandchildren or son & daughter. Hate the fact that we only live 5 minutes from one and 15 minutes from the other and can’t see them. Thank goodness for crafting. I’m getting my first sewing machine in a couple of days, what size needle should you use for sewing paper. Xx
Lovely as always! You could make packets of scraps and book pages to sell on Etsy. I purchased paper scraps and bits, from Kagedfish at her meet and greet, for collage such fun to play with. Hope you're holding grandbabies soon. I'm so lucky we were able to spend time with grandbabies recently. No kisses yet but I'll take what we get. 🐞🌨️☃️❄️🤗
Yes! I have sold bits and scraps before, but scrapbook paper not digitals. I think it might be a no no to sell other’s digitals even if they are scraps. 🥴❤️
Sry. But the book pages and anything that isn't a no-no. 😂 Sry I wasn't thinking about the digital kits. I've never had digital kits yet. I won't have printer until next spring. 😆 I'm a crazy person 🤣
Morning sis! Happy Scrappy Saturday! Just got shook awake by a 4.5 earthquake! I guess I will get rocking and rolling with a Gayle video and get my day started early… lol! 🤣🤣🤣Have a super, blessed day! 🙏🏻😘🤗

It’s an old bottle, so don’t know that they make it any more. Sally Hansen Starlet. ❤️
Gayle, do you have a video on how to create other different book page pockets?
I do, but it’s over on my Patreon channel. 🙂❤️
I also love putting up my tree and hate taking it down... what paper do you print your digitals on?
For collage, I just use plain old cheap copy paper. For pages in journals, I use 26 lb matte photo paper from Red River Paper Co. ❤️
Me too! Graduated from HS in 1974.
Love these scrappy pockets! I'm going to be getting my first sewing machine soon, and I was wondering what kind of thread you use to sew paper? Does it matter?
I just use general purpose thread. 😁❤️

I have a plastic shoe box that I keep “unfinished ephemera” in...the folded book pages live there too. 😁❤️
