Truck pull/ derby announcers are the most annoying people on earth.
So last I checked Dodge used a Cummins Diesel engine and Chevrolet used a Duramax Diesel engine and this guy keeps talking about a Dodge with a Duramax

Well... I've learnt a few things here. Cummins doesn't have enough power to make a full run, powerjoke doesn't even have enough to leave the line! AND it only takes one duramax to win the whole game! (Duramax#1) and yes ifs is still the best!!!

The most famous Duramaxs are The Nut Job and The Nut Job 2. The Nut Job was a Cummins and now converted back to Duramax as is TNJ2. It makes power, but each has their advantages/disadvantages. If you want run either/or go for it. Dodges just don't have to switch to other power plants. But, there is nothing wrong with a Ford becoming a Fummins or a Chevy becoming a Chummins. Guys are looking for power, but they have got to make sure they are getting that power to the wheels. I would be more concerned if a puller was constantly coming up short and never wanted to push their threshold to attempt to get up in the mix and shake up the leader board. Pullers want to compete against the best. Then when they win, there is a sense of accomplishment.
Go to a super stock truck pull the only duramaxs are hulk and the nut job all the top competitors use cummins like caretaker and shied diesel and rock hard ram

I've been to a few of these and I've seen a lot of Cummins blow up I thought they were the best I have only seen one powersroke mess up and got fixed right away I've seen a couple of Duramax blow up but not as many as the Cummins I love powersrokes and Duramaxs it's always either a win for the powersrokes or a win for the Duramax

I gotcha. Our regular announcer is pulling in the V8 Modified class. We have events usually 2 per weekend. We need some more announcing. I know a lot about these guys I have said I would announce just give me a mic!

For diesel truck pulls, yes. For Naturally Aspirated, like Mod Street, Pro Stock, it is Chevy mainly. But, there are some strong Fords in the gas side. There are a few Dodges but most have Chevy power plants. For Alcohol engines at 650CI, it is typically Sonny Leonard HEMI motors and even the Fords have them because they offer the most horsepower around 1700HP.

steve farrow Right, I’ve had 2 duramax’s, my father in law has an 08 Cummins, a 2012 and a 2018 that he uses for hot shot hauling, my brother in law had an 03 Cummins he races. My duramax’s didn’t have shit on their trucks when it comes to heavy hauling, I could be a little faster easier but not stronger.
Paidinfull• My old man has an 03 duramax. Never have had front end issues, and we pull quite a bit with it. Still hardly broke in at 120k miles. I have a newer Cummins the 6.7, and it does great. Still love my old 12 valve more though. I drove a 359 pete with a 3406 CAT. Thing was a beast, I would love to have big rig truck pulls out west here. We just have normal truck/tractor pulls.

One puller told me once, "you almost have to be able to drive down the window and cash flying out and not care to do this." All hobbies cost money: camping, boating, fishing, hiking, hunting, vacationing, stamp collecting, card collecting, golfing, you name it. I just don't know if I could film those things for a living.
Fords just aren't made to pull any real amount of weight.
