- This Video shows most of the Unused Graphics in the Game. As well as other Unused Features. Included are older Version of Yume Nikki. the Thumb.db Files are excluded.
All of the Information comes from the Cutting Room Floor: tcrf.net/Yume_...
remember kids! The version numbering indicates that the original yume nikki was never finished. As further evidence, the effect icon slots had a placeholder for dummy slots and for slots planned to be filled (at least thats what the version history indicates) and those slots never got filled all the way.
Also Kikiyama confirmed Yume Nikki is unfinished
It would be nice if kikiyama just messed around with it one last time and added some finishing touches at least.
The question is, why did he suddenly stop updating the game and never properly finished it?

43:48 As someone who's tried to make "accurate" criscrossing stairs in RPG maker, I can see why this went unused.

Mostly, you’d need a layered graphics plugin and a diagonal walking plugin, which makes the whole thing pretty easily achievable.
@@Lunamine RPG Maker already has diagonal walking, the main problem is hard to explain but basically it's related to not interacting with the staircase from the set above, along with getting all the layers to work... I dunno, it's hard to explain.

Can’t really pinpoint why but this video made me really happy, hell, the last official thing we’ve gotten was the 3d remake, seeing new stuff from the original is just so cool.
from what i heard: Yume Nikki - Dream Diary also has some unused stuff, but for some odd reasons nobody created a Cutting Room Floor artikel about that
It definitely makes sense that Yume Nikki was a big inspiration behind Lisa the First, because a lot of rooms and places set in closed areas are very similar to the ones showed here, not mentioning the oniric tone and the pixel art in general
I believe Undertale and Omori also got their Inspiration from Yume Nikki.

I feel like some of these r just test stuff with a bunch of already used prompts and stuff scattered around used as a test maybe? tho it’s cool seeing the unused things..
Well, im pretty sure the Blindfold effect is definitly a test grafik or planned as a pseudo effect like the crick in the neck.
Some of them seems to be planned as Background Grafik that changes over time like the filled trash can and the broken Windows.
Others seems to hint that the Area is planned to be bigger, like Mars-sans Hideout.
And then, here is that door from version 0.08, where everyone believe it was originaly lead to face and the Will-o-wisp effect found in 0.04 that makes me wonder what was the reason for those to be scrapped?
@@Mortyman1 Im pretty sure the blindfold effect was supposed to be obtained in a mini version of the hell maze that could be accessed from the cupboards in the number world

One inaccuracy though, the light at 4:53 isn't unused. If you stab one of the candles in candle world it displays the light texture. It's most likely a bug though.
edit: It's one of the candles very close to the door, it's the one that's 5 tiles down and 3 tiles to the right of the door.
well, seeing that is unintentional and still listed in Cutting room floor, i think its still listed as unused
Aren't the Mado chair graphics used? Like when you sit down and move around freely
one of them is an earlier version of the Mado Chair graphic and i put the used version as a comparison. i also did the same on some other earlier unused graphics.

9:08 the fish on the left has the same shadow as what you see in the sewers when you get the nopperabou effect.
You can also sometimes see him above water if you lucky. apparently he has a unused "Rising up" grafik and an alternative color pallete.
Tragic it was never finished...
Here is a Modded version called 1.00 that added some of the unused stuff back into the game and created new worlds to explore. its a little bit Buggy though.

7:01 (not an english speaker) I just came to say that I downloaded an APK version of Yume Nikki on my phone, that doesn't matter. The thing is that there are sections where there are a lot of sprites where it doesn't load properly, so everything becomes a slurp of glich textures, This one came to me one day, I didn't know where it came from. Apparently it's a problem with my phone for not being able to process Yume Nikki properly.
If you want to know where the Graphic came from: this was the object that gave you the fat effect in version 0.06 and before
looking a the tile set it looks like Madotsuki dream room could of had an intire area.
PS:looking throw the video more alot of the areas like mars I think were planed to be bigger.

Well, i looked up the Site "Cutting room floor" ( link in the Description) Then i bought RPG Maker2003 on steam, opened the unoffical English translation Yume Nikki and messed around with the Editor. It wasnt easy because the names and words are scrampled letters and some things i could not place because it was saved on the Autotile area. then put anything on maps i created and recorded it so i could use it for i video i planned on my main german channel while saving the draft Video on this Channel.
how can i get all of these?
You can't. They are Unused. You need to edit the game in order to add then.

how did you get the "Debug" option on your menu?
create a shortcut on the Game or Easyrpg and add "TestPlay" (with the quotes) to comments in property.

@@Mortyman1 The method didn't work for me, but I found a way to force it to happen. So, if any other user is having problems with enabling the debug menu, it's simple:
Create a shortcut to EasyRPG, right-click it, select "Properties," and in the Target section, add a space at the end, then paste --test-play (without quotes), and you should be ready to go. Note that you need to have both EasyRPG and a copy of Yume Nikki (folder or zip) for it to work properly.
