    I feel like someone has opened a door as I have so many jeans that don’t fit me. I will definitely try this. Might end up with a whole new wardrobe.

    Thanks, seeing the simplicity of the project helped me to have more motivation. I've got a good pair of trousers that are way too tight. I found similiar fabric but when I put in the panels the flow of the pants looks different so am trying to figure out how to make it look better and get the fabric to flow better.

    THANK YOU...🤣😂😅 that was a classic tip.... LOVE the way you "enlarged" the back panel only! 😂😍 oh I needed that laugh. Glorious!!
    I'm about to fix some pants... good luck to me, eh! Haha! Thanks heaps! Reminds me of the time I bought 2 really pretty short sleeve tops online from Asia. The price was right, the model looked gorgeous in them, as I was sure to be also ... BUT when I put them on, besides almost choking myself around the neck (round band with v-neck cutout), I discovered that the sleeves also were sewn on the wrong way... back seam to front !!! Hillarious!! Picture it!!
    Now I'll have to subscribe for more hot tips. 💌

      I usually just add patches to the inside of pants/jeans/trousers that have worn thigh areas 🧵

    Hello and congrats! I really loved whole process...I like quick and fine results sewing tricks and for sure I will work up all my favorite clothes. I am just wondering...if this design fits for a man trousers...I mean...there are just few cm but...the design looks cool for a girl. I would like to increase size for my husband and got a lot of fabrics but not same tone with the trousers I want to work and are a kind of casual ones. thank you and keep going😊🩷

    I absolutely love this idea your way it was to the point I love it! I’m just wondering I’ve trying to do this with a pair of jeans and intern a funky pattern down the side of the jeans!! And I’m just wondering if this will still be okay if I was using a 100% cotton fabric or do you think it might have a tendency to fray would I be better using a stretch material?cxx

    • @RefashionistaSheri
      @RefashionistaSheri  3 года назад

      I've used a variety of fabrics for inserts and have found that the closer you can get to the original fabric texture the better. A light, silky fabric doesn't work at all with a heavy material (like denim) but a thicker cotton is awesome. The insert fabric I used for these was a lot lighter than the trousers so I simply doubled it to make it thicker. It was also easy to fray which is why I made the "fabric tubes" to help prevent it once everything was stitched together (check out the 2:55 mark for the explanation) 😃

    I love this! do you have recommendations for how to do this with wide-legged pants where you only want to add at waist / hips, not all the way down?

    • @RefashionistaSheri
      @RefashionistaSheri  3 года назад

      Absolutely! You just need to add an upside down triangle panel to each side of the waist/hips in the width & length you need. (my bell bottom tutorial shows how to add triangular panels: bit.ly/3ic4rWG & my upsizing tutorial index has lots of help too: bit.ly/3eEIr5Z)

    • @RefashionistaSheri
      @RefashionistaSheri  Год назад

      I don't have photos but I used a simple straight stitch to attach the panels then zigzagged over the seams for extra strength 🧵😊

  • @spaceskeleton2000
    @spaceskeleton2000 3 года назад +1

    I don't need the panels very wide in my shorts so I'm about to use one of those boho embroidered ribbons on the outside. It's wide and looks durable enough so I think it should hold.

    • @RefashionistaSheri

      Great idea! I've used lace trim to upsize shirts & tops & it's all still going strong after lots of wear! bit.ly/341r4X9

    hi! i recently bought a mini skirt that has an elastic waist but is a stiff fabric without stretch on the rest of the skirt. the waistband fits fine, it’s just too tight in the hips/legs. do you think using this method would still work without cutting through the waistband and just adding extra fabric to the side seams? thank you!!

    • @RefashionistaSheri
      @RefashionistaSheri  2 года назад +1

      Absolutely 😃 try making your inserts a triangle shape & stitch the smaller/narrow end under the waistband area - this should give the skirt a nicer shape than using a rectangular insert ✂️
