    Adding this video to my files. My body has never been easy to fit, and it’s worse post-menopause. I’m 5’3” with the shortest waist imaginable but long legs for my height (too long for petites to fit!). Add to it that I have no hips but a bigger waist and bleh! If it fits below the waist, the waist is too small. If it fits my waist, it’s huge on my butt and thighs. As I get better at sewing though, I’m feeling more and more empowered! 💪🏻

    Hey Angelina! Miss ya watching your tutorials. Been kind of really business. This is a great review video for me to remind us of the options there are to make those jean/pant/trouser fit when our body decides to expand, or the thrift purchase was too good to not grab something that too small.
    I got a lot of catching up to do because I don't even know if the baby has come yet.

    I love all of these Jean styles. You have a great talent. You make it look so easy. Do you need a special machine or needles to sew these materials together?

    • @BlueprintDIY
      @BlueprintDIY  5 месяцев назад

      You’ll need a jean needle and possibly a walking foot for a lot of layers.

    I bought a pair of jeans second hand and I checked if the waist fits around my waist and if the length from the waist down to the ankles was long enough. They were too long, but that can be fixed in 5 minutes. But when I got home and tried them on, I found out that the waist was too short vertically and the jeans were too tight in the hips and thighs. So I cut the seam between the legs and set in a long strip of matching fabric. It solved all of the problems. Took half an hour and is my favorite jeans now.

    The snaps are genius! I’m not really a fan of just adding a strip or triangle of quilting type fabric like I see suggested other places. It looks like a home sewing project which is fine but not for me. Your ideas, though, look like they were originally designed like that. They’re so good!
    Edit: The last ones were amazing too!!!

    I love these ideas !! Any idea if this would work on some polyester/nylon/spandex blend type dress pants ? I just got some and theyre about 7 inches too small in the hip. Not sure what else to do other than to do triangles with the pocket fabric since I dont have enough for the whole sides of the legs

    Can you do a video on how to upsize arms on blazer?? ❤❤❤

  • @Alex-fc8xn
    @Alex-fc8xn 4 месяца назад

    Can you do a video on upsizing a heavy wool coat? I bought one that I adore, it's so sharp and long and makes me feel like im in the matrix but also keeps me warm in canadian winters.
    Ive gained some weight which means I have to alter some pants, but Ive also gained strength and muscle in my shoulders which has made the coat too small across the back of my shoulders. I dont know how to make it larger while staying warm and looking good! The silky liner would also need to be upsized.
    The best idea I can think of is adding a triangle in the center of the back, but I dont know where to begin when working with a heavy duty (and I mean heavy, the coat has weight to it) wool, or what materials would still be warm and wind/snow resistant for the added triangle. I guess best case scenario would be finding a similar wool fabric, but im concerned about the seams being super obvious or ugly if i use a thick fabric.
    Can you do a video about upsizing structured jackets (like suit jackets, which is how the structure of the top portion of the coat is designed) as well as a video about working with heavy fabrics and wool? Or suggest another youtuber, blog, resource, etc. that might be helpful?

    • @BlueprintDIY

      Perhaps add a new back panel like I did here, but just make your panel wider than the original. ruclips.net/video/TpJcwVCoTUc/видео.html

    • @erindixon2877
      @erindixon2877 5 месяцев назад

      If the jeans are several sizes too big, making them smaller probably won’t work very well. If you some thrift stores near you, check to see if they have anything that will work for you. And work on your sewing skills so you can create clothes that fits your new body shape.
