A double-breasted jacket suit is definitely one of my favorite styles of suit jackets although I always button the inner anchor button I never really understood it's purpose until now thanks!
It all depends on what DB style jacket you are wearing! Different button configurations call for different techniques. That said if there are two button buttons and there are 6 buttons on the jacket then yes leave the bottom one undone 👍
Those people are strictly following the rule of never buttoning the bottom button. It applies on single breasted (Regular) jackets but it only loosely applies to double breasted jacket.
