It's actually far more impressive than you'd think. Electro Traveler is also one of his best supports. A Sethos, Beidou, EMC and Nahida team can take down Triple Kenki in under a minute with the level 1 charge shot playstyle.
he’s a typical “this is a 4* dps” case. i think he’s on the higher end of 4* dps though (but that can also be attributed to furina and dendro). his biggest benefit is the changing playstyles. he’s definitely a step in the right direction as far as fun and variety goes
I wonder if it's fair to say he's currently the best 4star DPS to lead a hyperbloom team. Actually in terms of mid-comparisons, I think Tighnari and Keqing are probably the ones close by in strength and relative rarity being 5 stars on standard. (Most limited 5star units are a tier above of course.)
One thing I found about Sethos is that, while his burst na spam playstyle is generally best, if you're missing only a bit of health on the last few enemies to finish the fight you can just do a couple of quick charged attacks. His charged attack playstyle has very good dps while it lasts, it's just that it doesn't last long enough and has a way too long cooldown. If, for whatever reason, you find yourself with Sethos in a situation where you need a bunch of front loaded damage you can ignore his burst and just go to town with his charged attacks. I've tested it against the ruin snake and the notoriously short dps windows it allows you, and I found that in those situations his charged attacks are way more effective than burst and na. And, with both playstyles, he's actually an above average Fischl driver in aggravate teams. I think he may genuinely be better than Keqing, if properly used. Better than Yae? His personal damage is, of course, lower than Yae, but he triggers aggravate more often, which means that, with a well built Fischl, he may actually be competitive with her, though I need to test this further. I believe with a C6 Fischl he might even get a big power boost, though I can't test it because I don't have Fischl C6 sadly (I'm a 1.0 player and my Fischl is still C2 to this day, sadge). My point is that, if used smartly, his kit may actually put him on a power level that is somewhere around some 5* characters, though nowhere near the stronger 5* of course. In that, I think he's quite similar to Gaming and Noelle, both fellow 4* characters who, in the right situations, can actually compete with some of the 5* carries (assuming those 5* carries are C0, of course). Also, that his kit makes him adaptable in a way that most other characters aren't: the only other carry who has a degree of control over the length of his rotations is Alhaitham, and that rotation flexibility is part of what makes him so good.

Hay, if you ever felt like on Fielding fischl for some reason but realised that doesn't add any value Now, if you just close your eyes, it'll feel like you're on Fielding fischl while also driving fischl from off field. What a lovely and universally felt experience
he might not be a great 4 star, but hes certainly fun and interesting with two different playstyles, seems like sometimes 4 star kits are more interesting than some 5 stars lol
He is in the category of "4 star on-field DPS", like Yanfei, Heizou and Gaming. He won't make it to a meta team where people care about beating the most challenging content in the most efficient way. More like for people who want an extra challenge or new players who still need an on-field dps, personally I like the 4 star teams more for world exploration, makes the game more engaging for me since it requires a decent rotation to get the enemies down. Meanwhile in the open world, a single 5 star character usually beats the enemies in 1 skill o 1 burst barely using the in-game mechanics.
@@GIJoeMeerkat He is the only exception for 4 star on-field DPS, specially paired with Xianyun he is unstopable. It's a great option if you need a pyro dps and don't have Arlecchino or Hu Tao. Devs definetely wanted to make Liyue (aka China) characters relevant again in recent patches.
@lyricjam39 tbf he also had a really long development time with the devs having to add new things they have never done before so he would at least have to be good. And the reason we don't get many on field 4 star dps that are strong is because support 4 stars sell way more, and people rather have niche 4 star buffers than niche 5 star buffers

That’s what it appears on the surface. Attack is still good actually in his secret “third playstyle” that only few know about… Just in case you are curious, it’s called spamming level 1 charged shots. It consumes much less energy than shadow piercing shot and has no icd and can proc aggravate non stop sadly it only directly scale with attack but still it’s pretty insane.
@@reactiondavant-garde3391pretty much has as cheap of vuild investment as Tighnari. Both have strong f2p weapon and quick-access to wanderers troupe. It's only Hunters Path that Sethos could opt over Slingshot for a premium weapon. But I do say that as I am speaking this post-Xilonen's release, Sethos does have more team upgrades like Xilonen, and even Tighnari as a co-dps.
I can't help but feel like he's one of those "stepping stone" units for newer accounts that are limited by their character options. If a new account manages to pull a Fischl and a Sethos, all they really need is Dendro MC to have the core of a solid team in the works. Hell, you can even get by with using Barbara in the last slot for the rare Hyperbloom reaction from time to time. I just think that it's a tragedy that he's on THIS particular banner because Clorinde does Aggravate better and Alhaitham does Hyperbloom better so there's going to be a lot of people pulling for either of those units that will pick up Sethos who does a less than ideal job at either team archetype than those two 5 star units. If he had come out sooner during Fontaine or late through Sumeru, I'm sure he'd have more fans than he has now.
You are not wrong about that. As someone who pulled Clorinde from this banner I am going to put her in Aggravate, leaving no place on that team for Sethos. I am thinking of building an electrocharged team with Sethos instead, let's see how it pans out
I agree we need these 4 star DPS characters to help people through the early game I myself used Chongyun and he carried me through the early game till I got itto and Ayato so yeah Seth is fills that slot quite nicely
What I like most about the charge shot is that it's visually obvious when it's ready. Diona, even Ganyu, it's so hard to tell sometimes between their burst and especially all the commotion during co-op.

What I saw he is good in aggravate as well. In reality as a on-field electro the only thing you need to do to clear abyss is to be a good Fischl driver and he absoltuly is. It is interesting thet you used quickbloom team, his attacks have AoE then?

Yes exactly!! Like Im sorry but if my lever 70 sethos, with a2 piece wanderer traupe, 2piece bilzard and a 4 star artifact (all 0 level by the way) with 6, 5, 4 talent level, with layla, nahida, and fischl can do 75k shots and you cant with a level 90 artifacts, then you have a skill issue..
I have a very honest question about your thoughts on him. Are you taking into account we're getting the new gamemode in less than a month that will focus on widening the character pool for various needs? Like, encouraging the player that it's okay to have multiple electro dps? Because to me, aside from regular 4* dps damage balancing, the only true issue with him is "he's not needed when we have others". But what if we need all of them? Even with using a character across 2 stages, we might need hodgepodge teams with multiple dps units because the supports have to be spread across more carefully. Even without that, he's perfect for a lot of early game players and exploration focus. So I'm gonna use him while catching up on some forgotten side quests.
Ooh your take on Sethos is interesting I've had a lot of fun playing him these past couple days. I actually think he's pretty good in the overworld, and his charge shot mechanic opens a way to use energy in overworld combat without feeling like it's overkill. Just make sure to run someone like Fischl on top of building a dendro comp around him, with that setup he recharges so much energy with just one tap on his skill
Honestly, he seems to be the most synergistic with Yae as he has short field times (with CA) and works around her clunky burst rotation, generates electro particles and brings in electro resonance to help Yae's burst cost AND allows you to double down on the benefits of anemo (specifically sucrose) as both him and yae are electro. The anemo res shred was wasted on Tighnari. The only other unit to use is Kirara for the shield and small dendro application so you won't have trouble swirling elkectro liek you would with Nahida. I'm actually hype about Sethos. Furthermore, his ele skill is 8 seconds and allows more energy generation and enables you to quick swap around him twice before committing to CAs. Yae really likes and prefers this over Tighnari's more forced 12 second CA rotation.
What clunkiness are you referring to? Yae and Tighnari are perfect for one another because they both work with 15 sec rotations. Her turrets line up perfectly with that. Most Yae's burst every other rotation or even forgo it depending on the chamber. Please tell me you're not trying to turret and immediately burst into more turrets.
there is a very interesting 3rd play-style of sethos that uses electro mc + kirara to aggravate with charge lvl 1 shots. the charge lvl 1 shots have no icd but dont pierce. they consume half as much energy and also get reduced charge time it is very fun and i think may be his best single-target playstyle
1 thing i want to see is the damage diference of the furina team in a normal abyss , i knew furina is pretty powerful but the current abyss blessing give you 48% more damage for only use furina.
Only through constellations. Same with Hydro-mode Traveler. That means that talent scaling cannot be applied to improve the shielding. We don’t have a C0 shielder for Anemo, Electro, and Hydro.
Have not built Sethos but can confirm that quickbloom team is a great electro carry flex team, i use it for Fischl but instead of the NAs being direct damage its about Ozs positioning as he can hit seeds well he just has to be inline, as such she can self drive her A4 pretty well as long as she is C6. I know a few buddies who use it for Keqing just because they like it too. Its cool team because if you build 250 to 350 EM then Nahida+Baizhu on instructors can get you up to 650-750 EM which is apparently the point of diminishing returns for Hyperbloom if you still want to build Crit damage, a rare thing to seek but its very nice. Meanwhile the aggravated aggravate very intensely too! May consider building him now he looks like a fun character
I think Sethos is good 4* on-fielder. Considering thet I used him at L1 in my Fischl, Kirara, Kazuha team and I was able to one rotate (aggravtae 24 second rotation) the Geo Wishap. I think the problem really is thet I destryoed it by Clorinde much faster. It is more about the competation, but frankly judgeing 4* on-fielders only for being redundant is really un-fair. Yanfei my favorite pyro dps and she is one of the most redundant character ever, still strong enough to easily clear the Abyss and she have a fun playstyle. This game allow you to use most characters and have a good experience with them, it is very rare when a character really feels bad to use, like Hydro Traveler. On top of thet I think Sethos is just generally in the higher end of the 4* damage dealers, being EM scaler electro who can cheet out damage from hyperbloom and being good Fischl driver already make him pretty good.
I picker up Clorinde in 21 pulls (78 pity) on a guarantee but Sethos failed to show, so I risked another 10 pull later in the day & there he was. Job done, banner complete. Shame ol' Seth will join Kaveh in the eternal 20/40 club, I'd rather finish building Dori than those 2 😅

Had my wife do my pulls on Clorinde since I wanted some higher cons for Bennett and Thoma and wanted to get Sethos just to have him. She does my first 20 pulls after I pulled Arlecchino, she gets 2 Clorinde, 2 Thoma, and 3 Bennett. No Sethos. Just wanted to have him in my team even if he stays c0
sethos is suprising like he's stronger than i thought. like i tend to be worried with 4 star dpses or onfielders in general because we all know how 4 stars are in genshin these days. if even we have some characters like gaming who are very solid units. but we also had some duds as well like freminet and Kaveh.
He doesn’t even scale that big with attack meaning he really has no drawbacks compared to 5 stars base stat wise. Obv he doesn’t ascend with crit like 5 star dps-es but EM ascension stat helps him close the gap.
Its like a magnet lol, I always like the characters everyone is burning alive lol. I love the flexibility of either using yoimiya or tighnari depending on the situation. Specially with the piercing attacks. Position yourself well and dude can melt down mobs well. Good for venti too. Overall, a plesant surprise for me
In my experience on playing (Cyno+Nahida+Furina+Baizhu), comps like this one scale best with EM Goblet then with Elemental ones, since Furina's buff acts the same way element buffs act in a character build, so you can get more buffs from the weapon and Hyperbloom as well this way.
i think people focus way too much on getting 1 team to do 1 thing, i have been using him as a sub on field dps and having a really good time with it. does he do as much damage in a set up where you focus on buffing him as much as possible? no! is it fun? yes!
I've been focusing less on his personal dps and running him as a ranged hyperbloom driver putting him on 4p instructors and fav bow with Nahida/Xingqiu/Raiden. I have Nahida on prototype amber and Xingqiu there to provide int res and some healing with his damage but I also feel like people forget Raiden can trigger hyperblooms even from a distance so with this team I can just play Sethos from a safe distance. His personal numbers aren't amazing or anything but it's still a pretty solid team though I'm only at C3 and I feel like his C4 would boost his driving capabilities. Also, an absolutely cursed build is phys C3 Sethos on thundering pulse (which looks pretty good on him) is actually kinda fun to play

Sethos really got the short end of the stick on my account. I have all Electro units, minus Keqing, and I have all of them build, aside from Dori. If the stars align correctly, maybe I'll give him a chance, the fact that he doesn't use aim-shot exclusively is a big W for me.
Make sure you are fine with cancel combos, his best DPS output is using his burst infused normal attacks in a X2 normal attacks into walk cancel, rinse and repeat. Regardless he's quite mediocre.
He's good as a hyperlooom team who's weak link is the hydro character I feel like. Like while the best hydro character is on the other abyss team or you just don't have kokomi you can do a quick aggrevate while your hydro applicator is on cd or something (like a burgeon team who goes vaporize when the dendro character is on CD. I think him being versitile will make him a lot better in stuff like the theater whenever that comes out (he can sub in for several characters i mean)
How about a full hyperbloom build with the new event bow and EM/EM/EM artifacts? I recently built C6 Dori like that to devastating effect. Hyperbloom is just sooo OP.....
im currently building him with amos and using him with yae nahida baizhu. it’s just fun having 2 characters with evasive abilities and they ensure i get the max buff on amos😊
They should really stop with 4* DPS for a while. The only 4* support we had got are Lynnette and Chevreuse. All the rest of were DPS. But maybe they did it to have more affordable options for the incoming Imaginarium Theater. And that every other 4* support gets dominated by the power 5. Edit: I forgot about Charlotte. Maybe because Cryo has skipped my mind for almost two years now.
desert pavilion being good on sethos? I never thought of that, but now I’m curious. my wanderers set isn’t great (well, unless it’s a pyro chr. I have a cracked pyro goblet but all my criclets suck lmao) but I have a really good pavilion set for scara, so I might try it out lmao.
I think he's getting messed up with the low atk scaling and Chev buffs atk. But I feel like this would just mean Gilded is his best set overall, or Wanderer with atk sands, and in overload Crimson can be flexed into as well.
The thing is every electro is great with furina, nahida, baizhu/yaoyao. However not all of them work in pure aggrevate (mainly raiden i guess), quickbloom is just better in general look at cyno.
Tfw I forgot to check the passive talents on Sethos and accidentally stumbled into a decent build for him for what I have considering I gave him my Stringless... Which has EM, which he needs desperately 😅 now to see if I can build crit rate/damage... And defense/HP. He is, indeed, VERY squishy rip. I'll have to try him with my Anemo characters, cause I've been running him on a dual Hyperbloom/Burgeon team alongside Dendro Traveller, Chevreuse (mainly for her fire specials) or Xiangling, and Barbara for healing/hydro application. (Can you tell I'm mostly ftp and got him in a random pull? 😅)
Maybe sethos could be used with tighnari, the thing I find problematic while I'm using tighnari is that I have free time in the rotation, a second carry could fill this gap.
My Sethos has stopped at C5...which is just frustrating. I've left him at level 60/70 for now, I'll get around to finish building him at some point, but my focus is Clorinde at the moment.
I like your videos, and I was following you most of the time, but when you began talking comparison to other electro DPS, other than Lisa your comparisons were to 5 star characters so of course his damage won't keep up with them. You basically said "he's good but not as good as a 5 star" which is why hes a 4 star, but you made it sound like a bad thing instead of expected for a 4*. It's your opinion, so I'm not mad, you can have your own opinion. And I believe that you like to have the audience opinion and I think you were accurate but a little harsh, which is understandable for someone who has played every character.

I'm confused how his Burst NA playstyle is better. All of his talents and constellations mention his "Shadowpiercer Shots" (his charged attack). None of them interact with his Burst NAs ("Dusk Bolts") besides C4. Did they really push his charged attacks so much only for normal attack to be the best?
Baizhu stands correct, his best DPS output is achieved with burst infused normal attack X2 walk cancel combos, you can use an occasional charged shot to finish up low HP enemies if you are outside of burst but basically even his C6 is pretty mediocre on the damage contribution department.

I like his hair and how his clothes look when we're running with him in the overworld. That's really important to me. Sadly, I don't have him built. But amazing thing about zhongli furina is that they allow me to run a crappy on fielder ans i don't die, plus the salon members kill everything and i just pretend its my unbuilt onfielder sethos/freminet/yanfei etc doing the damage. Didn't finish watching the video yet, but i wanted to say that his a4 talent doesn't apply to his burst, so if you only use his normal attacks you're missing out on 700% EM dmg bonus on your charged attacks When i was testing him yesterday i came to a conclusion that his best artifact set is TF because you can do more E's, which equals more energy, which allows you to use his burst and after it ends i can do 2-3 charged attacks and still get enough energy for my burst next rotation
sethos normal attacks while under the effects of his burst count as charge attack for the sake of mke the A4 work, you're not losing his pasive, the pasive exist for that, is a type dmg conversion just like how raiden burst make her normals do burst dmg, sethos burst make his normals do charge attack dmg, dont difame the goat

Have you considered a team comp with Electro Traveler, Sethos, Nahida and Beidou? (EMC allows sethos to gain energy while EMC is off field.) It allows Sethos to spam Charge level 1 shots 10 to 11 times. n1tr0n0m showcased it in his channel. I think its pretty well performing, though it needs weakspots to work (Charge level 2 cannot get weakspots. Level 1 can.).

He is in the category of "4 star on-field DPS", like Yanfei, Heizou and Gaming.
He won't make it to a meta team where people care about beating the most challenging content in the most efficient way.
More like for people who want an extra challenge or new players who still need an on-field dps, personally I like the 4 star teams more for world exploration, makes the game more engaging for me since it requires a decent rotation to get the enemies down. Meanwhile in the open world, a single 5 star character usually beats the enemies in 1 skill o 1 burst barely using the in-game mechanics.

@@GIJoeMeerkat He is the only exception for 4 star on-field DPS, specially paired with Xianyun he is unstopable. It's a great option if you need a pyro dps and don't have Arlecchino or Hu Tao. Devs definetely wanted to make Liyue (aka China) characters relevant again in recent patches.
@lyricjam39 tbf he also had a really long development time with the devs having to add new things they have never done before so he would at least have to be good. And the reason we don't get many on field 4 star dps that are strong is because support 4 stars sell way more, and people rather have niche 4 star buffers than niche 5 star buffers

Just in case you are curious, it’s called spamming level 1 charged shots. It consumes much less energy than shadow piercing shot and has no icd and can proc aggravate non stop sadly it only directly scale with attack but still it’s pretty insane.

It's only Hunters Path that Sethos could opt over Slingshot for a premium weapon. But I do say that as I am speaking this post-Xilonen's release, Sethos does have more team upgrades like Xilonen, and even Tighnari as a co-dps.
I can't help but feel like he's one of those "stepping stone" units for newer accounts that are limited by their character options. If a new account manages to pull a Fischl and a Sethos, all they really need is Dendro MC to have the core of a solid team in the works. Hell, you can even get by with using Barbara in the last slot for the rare Hyperbloom reaction from time to time.
I just think that it's a tragedy that he's on THIS particular banner because Clorinde does Aggravate better and Alhaitham does Hyperbloom better so there's going to be a lot of people pulling for either of those units that will pick up Sethos who does a less than ideal job at either team archetype than those two 5 star units.
If he had come out sooner during Fontaine or late through Sumeru, I'm sure he'd have more fans than he has now.
You are not wrong about that. As someone who pulled Clorinde from this banner I am going to put her in Aggravate, leaving no place on that team for Sethos.

I agree we need these 4 star DPS characters to help people through the early game I myself used Chongyun and he carried me through the early game till I got itto and Ayato so yeah Seth is fills that slot quite nicely
What I like most about the charge shot is that it's visually obvious when it's ready. Diona, even Ganyu, it's so hard to tell sometimes between their burst and especially all the commotion during co-op.

What I saw he is good in aggravate as well. In reality as a on-field electro the only thing you need to do to clear abyss is to be a good Fischl driver and he absoltuly is. It is interesting thet you used quickbloom team, his attacks have AoE then?

Yes exactly!! Like Im sorry but if my lever 70 sethos, with a2 piece wanderer traupe, 2piece bilzard and a 4 star artifact (all 0 level by the way) with 6, 5, 4 talent level, with layla, nahida, and fischl can do 75k shots and you cant with a level 90 artifacts, then you have a skill issue..

I have a very honest question about your thoughts on him. Are you taking into account we're getting the new gamemode in less than a month that will focus on widening the character pool for various needs? Like, encouraging the player that it's okay to have multiple electro dps?
Because to me, aside from regular 4* dps damage balancing, the only true issue with him is "he's not needed when we have others". But what if we need all of them? Even with using a character across 2 stages, we might need hodgepodge teams with multiple dps units because the supports have to be spread across more carefully.
Even without that, he's perfect for a lot of early game players and exploration focus. So I'm gonna use him while catching up on some forgotten side quests.

I've had a lot of fun playing him these past couple days. I actually think he's pretty good in the overworld, and his charge shot mechanic opens a way to use energy in overworld combat without feeling like it's overkill. Just make sure to run someone like Fischl on top of building a dendro comp around him, with that setup he recharges so much energy with just one tap on his skill
Honestly, he seems to be the most synergistic with Yae as he has short field times (with CA) and works around her clunky burst rotation, generates electro particles and brings in electro resonance to help Yae's burst cost AND allows you to double down on the benefits of anemo (specifically sucrose) as both him and yae are electro. The anemo res shred was wasted on Tighnari. The only other unit to use is Kirara for the shield and small dendro application so you won't have trouble swirling elkectro liek you would with Nahida. I'm actually hype about Sethos.
Furthermore, his ele skill is 8 seconds and allows more energy generation and enables you to quick swap around him twice before committing to CAs. Yae really likes and prefers this over Tighnari's more forced 12 second CA rotation.
What clunkiness are you referring to? Yae and Tighnari are perfect for one another because they both work with 15 sec rotations. Her turrets line up perfectly with that. Most Yae's burst every other rotation or even forgo it depending on the chamber.

there is a very interesting 3rd play-style of sethos that uses electro mc + kirara to aggravate with charge lvl 1 shots. the charge lvl 1 shots have no icd but dont pierce. they consume half as much energy and also get reduced charge time it is very fun and i think may be his best single-target playstyle
1 thing i want to see is the damage diference of the furina team in a normal abyss , i knew furina is pretty powerful but the current abyss blessing give you 48% more damage for only use furina.

Only through constellations. Same with Hydro-mode Traveler. That means that talent scaling cannot be applied to improve the shielding.
We don’t have a C0 shielder for Anemo, Electro, and Hydro.
Have not built Sethos but can confirm that quickbloom team is a great electro carry flex team, i use it for Fischl but instead of the NAs being direct damage its about Ozs positioning as he can hit seeds well he just has to be inline, as such she can self drive her A4 pretty well as long as she is C6. I know a few buddies who use it for Keqing just because they like it too. Its cool team because if you build 250 to 350 EM then Nahida+Baizhu on instructors can get you up to 650-750 EM which is apparently the point of diminishing returns for Hyperbloom if you still want to build Crit damage, a rare thing to seek but its very nice. Meanwhile the aggravated aggravate very intensely too!

I think Sethos is good 4* on-fielder. Considering thet I used him at L1 in my Fischl, Kirara, Kazuha team and I was able to one rotate (aggravtae 24 second rotation) the Geo Wishap. I think the problem really is thet I destryoed it by Clorinde much faster. It is more about the competation, but frankly judgeing 4* on-fielders only for being redundant is really un-fair. Yanfei my favorite pyro dps and she is one of the most redundant character ever, still strong enough to easily clear the Abyss and she have a fun playstyle. This game allow you to use most characters and have a good experience with them, it is very rare when a character really feels bad to use, like Hydro Traveler. On top of thet I think Sethos is just generally in the higher end of the 4* damage dealers, being EM scaler electro who can cheet out damage from hyperbloom and being good Fischl driver already make him pretty good.
I picker up Clorinde in 21 pulls (78 pity) on a guarantee but Sethos failed to show, so I risked another 10 pull later in the day & there he was. Job done, banner complete. Shame ol' Seth will join Kaveh in the eternal 20/40 club, I'd rather finish building Dori than those 2 😅

Had my wife do my pulls on Clorinde since I wanted some higher cons for Bennett and Thoma and wanted to get Sethos just to have him. She does my first 20 pulls after I pulled Arlecchino, she gets 2 Clorinde, 2 Thoma, and 3 Bennett. No Sethos. Just wanted to have him in my team even if he stays c0
Just lost a 50/50, but I did get c4 Bennett and C2 Sethos out of it.
sethos is suprising like he's stronger than i thought. like i tend to be worried with 4 star dpses or onfielders in general because we all know how 4 stars are in genshin these days. if even we have some characters like gaming who are very solid units. but we also had some duds as well like freminet and Kaveh.
He doesn’t even scale that big with attack meaning he really has no drawbacks compared to 5 stars base stat wise. Obv he doesn’t ascend with crit like 5 star dps-es but EM ascension stat helps him close the gap.
He cleared triple kenki with more than 9minutes at level60 with lvl1 talents with the premium hyperbloom team.
I love his design so much that I’m going to run him in every team even if it’s anti synergistic lol (the same thing happened to me with Furina)

I love the flexibility of either using yoimiya or tighnari depending on the situation. Specially with the piercing attacks. Position yourself well and dude can melt down mobs well. Good for venti too. Overall, a plesant surprise for me
In my experience on playing (Cyno+Nahida+Furina+Baizhu), comps like this one scale best with EM Goblet then with Elemental ones, since Furina's buff acts the same way element buffs act in a character build, so you can get more buffs from the weapon and Hyperbloom as well this way.
If anyones wondering, i have +0% bonus er (lol) and i burst every rot using the nahida baizhu furina team

i think people focus way too much on getting 1 team to do 1 thing, i have been using him as a sub on field dps and having a really good time with it. does he do as much damage in a set up where you focus on buffing him as much as possible? no! is it fun? yes!

I've been focusing less on his personal dps and running him as a ranged hyperbloom driver putting him on 4p instructors and fav bow with Nahida/Xingqiu/Raiden. I have Nahida on prototype amber and Xingqiu there to provide int res and some healing with his damage but I also feel like people forget Raiden can trigger hyperblooms even from a distance so with this team I can just play Sethos from a safe distance. His personal numbers aren't amazing or anything but it's still a pretty solid team though I'm only at C3 and I feel like his C4 would boost his driving capabilities.
Also, an absolutely cursed build is phys C3 Sethos on thundering pulse (which looks pretty good on him) is actually kinda fun to play

Sethos really got the short end of the stick on my account. I have all Electro units, minus Keqing, and I have all of them build, aside from Dori. If the stars align correctly, maybe I'll give him a chance, the fact that he doesn't use aim-shot exclusively is a big W for me.
Make sure you are fine with cancel combos, his best DPS output is using his burst infused normal attacks in a X2 normal attacks into walk cancel, rinse and repeat. Regardless he's quite mediocre.
He's good as a hyperlooom team who's weak link is the hydro character I feel like. Like while the best hydro character is on the other abyss team or you just don't have kokomi you can do a quick aggrevate while your hydro applicator is on cd or something (like a burgeon team who goes vaporize when the dendro character is on CD. I think him being versitile will make him a lot better in stuff like the theater whenever that comes out (he can sub in for several characters i mean)
I'm also predicting that Natlan will have more characters who use their energy as a resource but idk if im wrong then L ig
I say this as like "maybe there will be a character who can help with that kind of thing or a marechuse hunter type artifact set thing for it"
How about a full hyperbloom build with the new event bow and EM/EM/EM artifacts? I recently built C6 Dori like that to devastating effect. Hyperbloom is just sooo OP.....
im currently building him with amos and using him with yae nahida baizhu. it’s just fun having 2 characters with evasive abilities and they ensure i get the max buff on amos😊
They should really stop with 4* DPS for a while. The only 4* support we had got are Lynnette and Chevreuse. All the rest of were DPS.
But maybe they did it to have more affordable options for the incoming Imaginarium Theater. And that every other 4* support gets dominated by the power 5.

I think he's getting messed up with the low atk scaling and Chev buffs atk.
But I feel like this would just mean Gilded is his best set overall, or Wanderer with atk sands, and in overload Crimson can be flexed into as well.
The thing is every electro is great with furina, nahida, baizhu/yaoyao.
However not all of them work in pure aggrevate (mainly raiden i guess), quickbloom is just better in general look at cyno.

Tfw I forgot to check the passive talents on Sethos and accidentally stumbled into a decent build for him for what I have considering I gave him my Stringless... Which has EM, which he needs desperately 😅 now to see if I can build crit rate/damage... And defense/HP. He is, indeed, VERY squishy rip. I'll have to try him with my Anemo characters, cause I've been running him on a dual Hyperbloom/Burgeon team alongside Dendro Traveller, Chevreuse (mainly for her fire specials) or Xiangling, and Barbara for healing/hydro application. (Can you tell I'm mostly ftp and got him in a random pull? 😅)

I've left him at level 60/70 for now, I'll get around to finish building him at some point, but my focus is Clorinde at the moment.
I like your videos, and I was following you most of the time, but when you began talking comparison to other electro DPS, other than Lisa your comparisons were to 5 star characters so of course his damage won't keep up with them. You basically said "he's good but not as good as a 5 star" which is why hes a 4 star, but you made it sound like a bad thing instead of expected for a 4*.
It's your opinion, so I'm not mad, you can have your own opinion. And I believe that you like to have the audience opinion and I think you were accurate but a little harsh, which is understandable for someone who has played every character.

I'm confused how his Burst NA playstyle is better. All of his talents and constellations mention his "Shadowpiercer Shots" (his charged attack). None of them interact with his Burst NAs ("Dusk Bolts") besides C4. Did they really push his charged attacks so much only for normal attack to be the best?
his NAs are significantly better. it is genuinely unfortunate because of the con situation. even at c6, NA playstyle is better
Baizhu stands correct, his best DPS output is achieved with burst infused normal attack X2 walk cancel combos, you can use an occasional charged shot to finish up low HP enemies if you are outside of burst but basically even his C6 is pretty mediocre on the damage contribution department.

I like his hair and how his clothes look when we're running with him in the overworld. That's really important to me. Sadly, I don't have him built. But amazing thing about zhongli furina is that they allow me to run a crappy on fielder ans i don't die, plus the salon members kill everything and i just pretend its my unbuilt onfielder sethos/freminet/yanfei etc doing the damage. Didn't finish watching the video yet, but i wanted to say that his a4 talent doesn't apply to his burst, so if you only use his normal attacks you're missing out on 700% EM dmg bonus on your charged attacks
When i was testing him yesterday i came to a conclusion that his best artifact set is TF because you can do more E's, which equals more energy, which allows you to use his burst and after it ends i can do 2-3 charged attacks and still get enough energy for my burst next rotation
yeah he's pretty good. but that's not something anyone will say it's either broken or trash xD

sethos normal attacks while under the effects of his burst count as charge attack for the sake of mke the A4 work, you're not losing his pasive, the pasive exist for that, is a type dmg conversion just like how raiden burst make her normals do burst dmg, sethos burst make his normals do charge attack dmg, dont difame the goat

Have you considered a team comp with Electro Traveler, Sethos, Nahida and Beidou? (EMC allows sethos to gain energy while EMC is off field.)
It allows Sethos to spam Charge level 1 shots 10 to 11 times. n1tr0n0m showcased it in his channel. I think its pretty well performing, though it needs weakspots to work (Charge level 2 cannot get weakspots. Level 1 can.).

I decided to pull on alhaitham’s banner right now because I need another dendro AND electro unit (I literally still only have Lisa for electro💀 love her tho! That’s my girl!). So this banner allowed me to get both. Hopefully I’ll be able to get better electro units in the future, but I’m just grateful to have anyone as a second option right now 🤣 this guide was awesome!
