In 2000, I was finding all kinds of good deals on eBay. I spent a lot of money, now I pay a storage bill just to have it all. Well, the things that weren't stolen from places I tried to keep it safe before.
Watching this video makes me feel A LOT better spending $25 on a clone commander last week.

Don't feel bad. The reason these toys are worth so much is because everyone's moms threw them out when they were kids.

I would love to see how much these figures actually cost, when they came out.
Every comic shop in America is filled floor-to-ceiling with "rare" stuff at BS prices that don't move the inventory. They're lucky to sell enough to pay their bills, and whenever you go in you never see any signs of them struggling with inventory. And they'd rather sit on something for years than sell at moving prices. It's made collecting to be hell, especially when you factor in the scalpers; many for whom own said comic shops as well as online Ebay stores.
I don't feel guilty spending 50 bucks for my Trini figure now. Those are some high priced toys there.
I don't feel so bad spending $200 for a Earthrise Green light mint in package.

Yep, plenty of expensive stuff on eBay, especially Fortress of Fangs and Tiamat the Dragon from LJN.
I think I had that red stomper truck when I was a kid. Also I had my pet monster and took that dude everywhere with me. I'd love to buy a clean one again but they are min $300

The Faker is the 1987 re-release. I remember buying a carded Indiana Jones in 1997 for $50. It's still with me.
Most I ever spent on anything was the Marvel A Force for $200. Next day the cheapest I have seen to this day is $350-$550. I have had people trying to sell me another set for $350, but I am not interested.
Man I have that boxed well of soul's playset, not going to sell it but that is way more than I paid for mine. Cheers🍻👍🏻
The Listen and Fun GI Joe was the Mine Detector soldier “Trip Wire”. He normally came in green color not the red that came with that cassette tape. They were not found after the third or fourth series (at least I don’t remember really seeing any other figure besides Trip Wire packaged qith a cassette tape). Of course I am not up much on variants, when I was re collecting Joes in the early 2000’s on EBay I picked up the Sky Striker (was modeled after the F-14 Tomcat, same fighter Tom Cruise flew in Top Gun) new in box but it was the Fun Skool (India version). Like an Idiot i opened that shit up and displayed it. Should have kept it boxed. Be worth a bit more now.
There was a Listen N Fun Transformer too, I think it was Clifjumper with a bumblebee body, so he's called Bumblejumper by collectors.

Back in the 80's there was GIJOE and Spiral Zone figures sold with audio tapes. I think it was a ploy to get rid of some overstock
The sad thing is that Rogue One figure that sold for 1cent, is eBay will take it for fees.

The $99,000 horse and the $35,000 Six-Shot Transformer bootleg are just mistakes. Both listings are from China. The person was just trying to list it in Hong Kong dollars and accidentally listed in US dollars

I love action figures but these buyers are crazy, it is insane to pay thousands of dollar for a toy.
