Awesome video, Alba! Thanks for sharing with us. Quick question.. I've been following your curly hair routine and the heat damage is almost gone (thank God :D). I'm just having one problem i have this one section were my roots are kind of flat and then it gets curly. Do you have any advice? Thank you!
I hate how these products aren't available in canada !!!! Its a struggle to style my curly hair with healthy products because we just don't have them here
I'm so obsessed with her channel, I'm always refreshing her feed to see if she posted something new, and if not I just watch her old videos.... it's honestly so sad
mee too I'm obsessed because she is completely organic. I probably wouldn't have been if it weren't for her changing like that. I never really found another RUclipsr like that with the same hair as me. i mean not exactly the same but very very similar. it's refreshing to feel like I can put my trust in her judgment on products

I know they carry one yes it is African organic & unrefined shea butter so you can try that one. I usually order from amazon but the beijaflornaturals one I spoke about is also very affordable
hes not vegetarian he eats meat. when hes older he can chose for himself to be vegetarian or not but I dont want to make that decision for him cuz hes still a baby.
I love the products listed above! They work miracles! There's just one thing wanted to share: I use this app called GoodGuide and it lets me know what is in the products i buy before I buy them in terms of your overall health when using them, and the product company's impact to the environment. The Deva curl no poo actually got a pretty bad rating for overall health, i'm not sure if you knew that so i just wanted to share!
You should try Cantu products. They have this leave in conditioning hair cream that has Shea Butter. I've been using it for months now because my hair was really dry. I absolutely love it!
*This won't be the case for everybody because different people have different reactions to various hair loss treatments, but for me **_superhairfood anti hair loss shampoo_** has been miraculous. Only a week or two in and my hair has completely stopped falling. I used to run my fingers through my hair and have clumps of hair on my hand. I have now noticed a complete reversal. My hair is no longer shedding. I dont see hair on my hands when i shampoo, when i play with my hair, etc. Suggest everyone Best of luck*
I'm just gonna second everything you said about the Devacurl line. BEST STUFF EVER. I never loved my curly hair until I tried that stuff. Totally recommend it to every curly girl!
Curly hair care...the struggle is real!!! Lol thanks for sharing. I'm a product junkie, so I'll probably try a few brands I don't already have. Dr. Bronners gives me LIFE!!! 👍
im dumb I looked at how long ago she posted this and it said july 19 and todays jul 19 and I was like oh cool I look at the view I was like damn a lot of views already then looked at the comments it said two years ago one years ago and I was just dumbstrucked until I looked at the date again and it said 2013
Ms Alba....thank you for these organic living vids. I literally just purchased the whipped Shea butter becuz I've been looking for a good non thick whipped one. I will def invest in several of these products becuz of the organic health benefits. Much luv for what you are putting on to & myself others. Plz...keep it up. SunKissAlba
Hahaaa I'm so glad u pointed out that the Shea Moisture deep conditioning mask and the regular conditioner are basically the same! I just recently got the transitioning starter pack and it included both but to me there is no noticeable difference if I'm doing a quick wash and cut one out of the process! P.S- I luv ur hair! My 2 year old sons(The only out of my three children to take my light hair & complexion over their dads darker hair & complexion)hair is just like urs! I use Cantu coconut curling creme and water and his curls just bounce! :-D
My hair pattern is 3c, and it use to be so soft and the curls use to be really defined earlier this year but I went to the pool a lot over the summer and straightened it at least 5 time this year :( some of the beginning on strands are straight, and the back is so very tangled and dry. when I try and braid it my hair is so stiff and moves with my hair. Someone help me! What can I do? (Ps my hair is very dry now, maybe because of the cold weather?)
Use a deep conditioner one that I used is called cholesterol by queen Helene. It works very well for your type of hair (since I have a similar type) and also I used to have over bleached dry and over processed hair. Also stop using heat on your hair, let it air dry when it is wet or put it on curlers to air dry. Make sure to moisturizer it when it begins to get dry such as coconut oil, olive oil or any hair dressing for your hair type. Use a light shampoo that is gentle on dry or damaged hair (don't use Pantene, head and shoulders etc) again use something for your hair type like dark and lovely is a good one. You'll see results after a few months trust me!
EliteCitrus funny thing is, the food that you eat from the supermarket everyday has more chemicals than this product! plus im sure they wouldn't put something on the market (btw that has been around for ages) for people to use if it is going to harm their hair! lol...
*Argan Rain is the best scented shampoo I ever tried. Makes my hair soft and shiny. I wish there was the same conditioner would be even better. Absolutely recommend it, try it and see the difference. Thanks to who ever made this shampoo. Very satisfied with this purchase.*
Clearly I am late to this video... But I recently discovered your channel and I am Puerto Rican and just moved from Miami to DC so my curly hair is having problems. I noticed that you don't mention or use carols daughter products. Is there a certain reason? Or do you have any reviews on them?
no i never read gossip sites because those sites are meant to be to there for drama/entertainment so 90% of what it says is fake stories to cause drama and gossip. I love my skin tone I wouldnt want it anyother way cuz I think its the perfect color that most people want to have because it as if I tanned to get this color but I didnt. Thats why my user name is SUNKISSALBA. im naturally sunkissed.
I want to use Dr. Bronners so bad, but I have a hemp allergy and while it probably wouldn't irritate my skin as much as when I drink it, Why buy something that doesnt give you the best. Do you recommend any other soaps with all of the benefits and none of the hemp?
Alba you have inspired me to switch to a toxic free lifestyle.. Already started to make changes with my hair products and now moving on to organic food! I'm doing lots of reading & educating myself. I'm also embracing transitioning to all natural curls and just loving it! Thank you Alba, GOD BLESS YOU... JESUS LOVES YOU!! :-*.
What type of hair brush do you use to help prevent breakage and hair loss? And do you use your products in a certain order or do you just stick to using only one product?
Me encantan tus vídeos son muy educadores , para una vida saludable por dentro y fuera me encanta tu vida familiar eres un buen ejemplo felicidades bendiciones alba 🙏🙏🙏💋💋😊😊😊😊
Hi Alba, I love my curly hair, but i never get products enough good. You really inspire me with your experience. I'm going to start using some products than you recommend in your video but, i'd like to have a shorter list, with basics. Please help me. I live in Colombia and i'm going to buy the products in Amazon, for that reason i don't wanna buy anything unnecessary. Thanks.
I see that you're using a new product for co-washing, (EO), but I want to thank you for showing me the deva curl one condition, because ever since I started using it 5 months ago, my hair has been improving and growing (4"). And the whole "co-washing" idea has been doing wonders for my hair, so thank you for this and all your videos
i see you have cleansers, but what are some good clarifying shampoos? i have 3c hair and I'm trying to bring my curly hair back to its healthy bouncy glory. I use a lot of shea moisture products because i love how it works with my hair (except the shampoo and conditioner) but I'm just looking for a good clarifying shampoo?
Hi, I'm nathaly from Peru. Here in my country good hair products and make up are not to available for all kind of people. The supposed good ones are too expensive for regular people. The products that you use are not sell here, I have curly hair but I prefer to use a flat iron to make it easier to handle as a lot of peruvian girls do. I would like to bring products from your country and create here a place to sell them and help people about beauty and take care stuff. I hope you can help me.
Hey Alba, I saw your video on how you can recover from heat damage and you said that you ended up cutting the ends of your hair. i have heat damage and i want to cut the pieces that are straight off but the problem is that it is not just my ends that are straight, my hair in the very front of my head is straight all the way up to almost the roots and idk how i can cut the hair off without cutting off basically the whole front part of my head, PLEASE, PLEEASE reply i have no idea what to do! :(

I am originally from Brazil but live in the US and when you mentioned the name of the Beija Flor line was very curious to learn more about the brand, especially when you said that they use "maracujá" in the hair product. Maracuja is passion fruit is has an amazing smell! I am definitely going to check this brand out! Also, it was from your comments that I learned about Talia's battle with cancer and after watching the video I became more thankful for the life that I have. :)
Alba, thank you so much for this video, it was very informative and helpful. You are a true inspiration and a great example of accepting your natural curly hair. For a while I struggled with that and viewing your channel help me become more informed and inspired to rock my natural curly hair. The products that you use on your son's hair are great as well because my 3 year old daughter has beautiful curly hair that I want to treat with care. Thank You again love! soso
Hey Alba, hope you get to reply to all our questions, I have kinda same hair as you , only minde is much longer as you can see on my profile picture.. I have this problem , after 2 days my hair gets those " dreadlocks" in the back .. whenever I wash my hair with even the softest creams it takes me for ever to detangle them .. it's a nighmare .. sometimes I'm afraid I wont be able to detangle and have to cut knots out .. what should I do , is my hair too long?
No. It's not. My individual strands are medium fine. The first day I bought it, I put a quarter sized amount in my hair and it was only a little oily. Though I do have alot of hair, it's not very long; just to my shoulders. So, unless you have super fine hair that's shorter that shoulder length, you should be fine. It's very light, yet super moisturizing. Definately a must have.
Yay for products with clean, natural ingredients! Alba, not trying to turn you into a product junkie, but you should check out the Nubian Heritage Line. It's a sister line to She Moisture, and they have a Honey and Black Seed line that smells like cherries to me :D Shea Moisture has a kids line now that's called Mango and Carrot, and it smells SO GOOD. There is also a line called Oyin Handmade that has smell good products. Both Nubian Heritage and Oyin are all natural.
I accidentally clicked done before I was done hehehe! But I have 2 quick questions. 1. Totally random, but what kind of nude lipstick do you use? I've seen some of your other videos, but I don't know what would be the best nude lipstick to get. 2. What do you do with your hair after you work out? I work out and I tend to run and do a lot of cardio that just makes me all sweaty. I know you wash once a week, but I feel like my hair needs to be washed every time I work out. Thanks again :)
Hola Alba!! you should check it out de Giovanni products, I been using the Direct Leave in for almost a yerar and i just recently tried the kynky-curly knot today and I think taht I prefered the giovanni one...is amazing, lightweight and with organics ingredientes too...and the best, more cheap! I the 50:50 balance hydrating- calming conditioner...uf!una maravilla! realmente buenos, trie out girl!!!! i purchase mine from herb.com
I've watched all your videos probably 100x I love your lifestyle so much and I was just wondering if you can do a hair thickening vid. My hair was just like yours when I was little, my hair was completely dead and now it's getting back to the beautiful candy curls they were before thanks to you! All I need back is my hair thickness. Please give us some tips. Thank you so much?"!
Hi alba I was wondering do you think these products would be good for my hair? My hair texture is similar to yours it's really long but when it's curly it shrinks alot! I want to use something that's going to help with the frizz & help my curls to stretch out & hang longer. I hate when it's curly & look super short!
Alba...i use the Shea moisture conditioner and yes is very thick and get stock in the pump, so what i do is when i finish a bottle of shampoo i change the cap of the conditioner for the shampoo cap...it works very well and i put the bottle up side down so i don't have to fight with the product! Hope it helps!
I just found your channel today and I'm so happy someone has done intense research on how to use natural products on natural hair! Love your videos! I have a question on kids hair. My daughter has coils and they are very dry and course. She's only 16 months old, would you recommend any of these products besides the kids shampoo you mentioned for a daily moisturizer?
Hola Alba, Thank you for sharing. I have been searching for curly hair tutorials from a Latinas perspective because the texture is different. A lot of products can be heavy on my hair so I have found myself lost when it comes to what products and technics to use. Your videos are EXTREMELY helpful. Sending you Love from Chicago, LuckieLuz : )
i got a question,.. i just wanted to know how your hair wld look like without the product you are putting ,.. as I struggle to curl the front of my hair,.. and tried many products,.. so please can u do a video where we can see how it curlz without nothing,.. r did u use to have problem creating curlz b4,.. thank u sooo much in advance for a response
Hello guapisima, unfortunately I looked DevaCurl products and do shipments to Spain. I've been looking also silicone-free products to recover my curls because I have gray hair and I have to dye my hair and I have very dry and dull. That product could bring me some glitter, I was thinking serums but can be a bit heavy. thanks
H there Alba! What do you use for your hair if you want to slick it back into a bun/ ponytail? That was the only styling product I didn't see from your video. I use a gel but I want to use something else that is better for my curly hair while still keeping my hair slick and pulled back when I want to wear it like that. Any products you would recommend besides gel?
Can you do a video on Protein? I believe I am Protein sensitive because my hair became brittle and shredded a lot in the shower. My hair does not like the Shea Moisture raw conditioner and Shea Moisture - Anti-Breakage Masque. They made my hair feel extra dry. I think it's because of all the protein in it.
yeaa I don't think I'm gonna get it for less than around 20euros outside the US. But I think I'll just give it a go.. I was also reluctant because I tend to use a lot of product in my hair as well so I don't want to have to repurchase a 20euro product every month! But hopefully it'll last a little longer :)
Do I need to shampoo/soap hair after applying coconut oil or any other oil? I found your channel a few days ago and you have inspired me to embrace my curly hair and stop using heat. We have similar hair(except yours is beautiful and healthy :) I'm beginning heat recovery and to nurture my hair back to health thanks to you. Love your videos. Best wishes and God bless.
I agree that the Shea moisture products are wonderful! I found out about their line through your videos and I am loving using them. For those asking where to find their line in stores, my CVS and target carry them. One time I we to CVS and they had ran out of the pink products that I wanted. So if you want it fast for $10.00 I would purchase it from amazon.com
I have such a problem with keeping my hair tame. It gets so huge but stays curly and a lot of people like that look but not me. I found that if I use the shea moisture curl smoothie and then a light gel, let my hair completely dry then kind of scruntch my hair it keeps the curls defined and elminates the crunch.
Do you think Whole Foods in New York may carry the all-natural organic unrefined Shea butter? I want it at its initial state so I can make my own mask using coconut oil and Shea butter (Claudette Ortiz recommended this), I don't want to order it off line but if I do is the website organicsheabutter (.com) a good place to order from? Your hair looked so natural! I loved it btw!
Hi Alba!! I'm a new follower and so far I'm loving your videos!! I was watching your video were you tell us about your curly hair products and I was wondering if these work for Oily Hair? I find that my hair though is curly and dry halfway down, at the root is very very oily. I tried doing the No poo method but my hair is so oily at the root that it was getting down to my face!! any advise?
I really love your videos! Thank you! The DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel works great with my hair since my hair is not sooo curly and it gives it hold! Plus: I so love coconut oil
@chaoticallycurly - you don't really want refined. Refined coconut oil means it doesn't contain all of the natural oil unrefined C.O has. In other words it won't harm your hair but unrefined has a lot more benefits. It's basically untouched and straight from the coconuts to the jar. Hope that helps
Yeah a coconut video! I too don't get on with kinky curly products (others have mentioned that on review also) just waiting for my shea moisture products to arrive. I live in the UK and we're abit behind with no chemicals....everything has silicones I find. Thanks for all your videos, you're great!
Hi Alba! I finally managed to get the shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie, i had to go all the way to new york for it (im from canada), now that i have it and used it, i realize the product is too thick and it weighs down my hair a lot. Do you have any suggestions?
Thx 4 all ur gr8 vdo's. They're never 2 long.. P.S. Do you get free products from the manufacturers? If not you definitely should, b/c u are their best marketing strategy. Yep, they should pay you! Greetz from The Netherlands.(P.S. I hv long black hair up 2 my... ahum.. 'bottom'). ;-)
I LOVE that you're all Organic like me..I can actuallt buy what u recommend!! Other youtubers claim their fave products are "all natural" without reading the labels!! Just because it says NATURAL doesnt mean it is...Keep up the good work!! LOVE your videos!!! ♥♥♥ xoxoxo
How often do you straighten your hair? And do you do it yourself? If so, can you PLEASE do a video on how you straighten it. I hate going to the salon because they charge me a arm and a leg because i have thick long curly hair. I tried to do it myself and it was a COMPLETE fail lol (:
hey alba i have just recently discovered you out of pure boredom. any how i think u mention that u were dominican im not sure but if u are im pretty sure u would enjoy watching "pelo bueno pelo malo" on youtube. if ur not sorry but watch it anyways is quite interesting. hope you get this message :)
I also have that shrinkage problem... it's so frustrating that i used to always straighten it to make it stay it's true length ): Is there a way to make the "wet look" stay or should I just give up trying and deal with the fact that it's always gonna be at my shoulders when dry ?:\
could you do a video about which one you should do often choces pretend you dont care i mean like wash it every 2-3 weeks don't put any products and etc or care about your hair like do your hair everyday even when your not goin out shampoo it everyday which one is better
There are a bunch of beauty videos made my other youtube entertainers about makeup and straightening your hair. I'm happy that I finally found someone who focuses on my texture and has had heat damage like I had. I'm sure there is another youtube beauty vlogger that you can relate a little better with.
Hi thank you for your videos.. Quick question..how often do you wash your hair? I have to jump in the shower every morning shampoo and condition my hair then reapply my hair styling products to re-define my curls. Otherwise I have flat ugly bedhead curls in the morning.
I love the DevaCurl NoPoo and Conditioner. All of their products are pretty good but after a couple of days I noticed I didn't like the way my hair felt after using the gel and it actually has alcohol in it! So, I don't use the gel anymore.
Hello! Have you thought about - Kasteshas Amazing Hair Growth (should be on google have a look)? Ive heard some great things about it and my work buddy got great results with it.
I want see a video about your bedroom..lol..It looks like a get away bahamas theme hotel, back there.!! i want to know where you got your sheets and paper lamp and your bed curtain.! Your very pretty for a dominican woman, i thought you were jamaican.
can you do an update on this?
I really wish I had your hair... :( It's gorgeous tho! Bless you
Awesome video, Alba! Thanks for sharing with us. Quick question.. I've been following your curly hair routine and the heat damage is almost gone (thank God :D). coconut oil on the ends after styling is a lifesaver
save one of the caps from your STYLE MILK and put it on the conditioner from shea and it should come out easier
I just did one in May. just 2 months ago & nothing has changed

I looked into it but I dont like some ingredients in this product like mineral silicones and parabens etc...
You are right. Right now it's the only thing that is working for me.
I just recently got my hair spiral permed and cut short and the Cantu Co-Wash for kinky, curly or waver hair textures is literally a Godsend :)

You should do an updated curly hair product collection video of 2k15
Deva Curl is so expensive in all German onlineshops 😢
Well it's $32.00 where I live and that's expensive for hair products for me at least
Vanessa16052 if you live in the US sometimes they sell them at Marshall/TJ Max.
I love your lighting gorgeous!

EliteCitrus funny thing is, the food that you eat from the supermarket everyday has more chemicals than this product! plus im sure they wouldn't put something on the market (btw that has been around for ages) for people to use if it is going to harm their hair! lol...
Duey lol, it does harm your hair. And if your like me , I only eat organic stuff :))) shea moisture is my favorite brand for hair and skin :)))

I've Just Bought Some Of These Products For My Curly Hair From CurlyEmporium And You've Really Helped
Hi Alba,
I love my curly hair, but i never get products enough good.
I too changed my lifestyle to ORGANIC. I plan to follow you because of your recommendations! Thanx Doll!
i see you have cleansers, but what are some good clarifying shampoos? i have 3c hair and I'm trying to bring my curly hair back to its healthy bouncy glory.

Hola Alba,
Thank you for sharing. I have been searching for curly hair tutorials from a Latinas perspective because the texture is different. A lot of products can be heavy on my hair so I have found myself lost when it comes to what products and technics to use. Your videos are EXTREMELY helpful.
Sending you Love from Chicago,
LuckieLuz : )
i got a question,.. i just wanted to know how your hair wld look like without the product you are putting ,.. as I struggle to curl the front of my hair,.. and tried many products,.. so please can u do a video where we can see how it curlz without nothing,.. r did u use to have problem creating curlz b4,.. thank u sooo much in advance for a response
Hola Alba, puedes traducir este video a espanol por favor? Saludos desde Eslovenia y felicitaciones por tus canales :)
SunKissAlba any recomendation about MorrocanOil Curly Line...? I got such a damage thin dry hair and i heard about that too...thanks for everything
Where did you get the shea butter?
I love the way you say "coconut oil" great vid
xoxo would love if you check out my deep conditioners video :)
