  • An excellent afternoons session spent at Long Buckby on the Northampton branch of the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from London Midland and various freight from Freightliner and a loco convoy from DB Cargo UK consisting of the following engines: 90036, 67030, 66174, 59203 and 92036 working 0A06 Crewe TMD to Wembley.
    I really did enjoy my time here and its definitely somewhere I would return to. My next station is Northampton.
    You can now find me on Facebook through the group Tornado922, there you will find regular updates, videos and photos from all of my goings on throughout 2016

    The passenger service seems to be very regular there - not bad for an almost wayward halt. oh and 5 locos in one sighting ain't bad!

      Its a very good service that they get here, the station can accommodate 8 car sets should they be required but mostly it's just 4 car trains that arrive and depart from Birmingham New Street

    You may have also analysed the footage but I got 90036, 67030, 66174, 59203 and 92036. Could not see the class numbers of the 59 so wasn't sure if it was a 59 or 66. Did a bit of searching though and I think 66203 could be in EWS livery (or Euro Cargo Rail livery, a former EWS subsidiary and very similar livery). Also DB Cargo UK do operate a few 59/2s they acquired from National Power, numbering 59201-59206.

      Yeah I found the numbers later that day, someone happened to film that convoy passing through Stafford and I was able to acquire the numbers through there. Although I never knew that 66203 had a previous livery other than EWS. I knew that DB operate a few of the 59's as I've seen them mostly operate down the southern end of the country

      I think it's almost identical to the EWS livery except instead of the letters 'EWS' on each side there is/was a 'Euro Cargo Rail' logo. Euro Cargo Rail was EWS' French based freight operator and used a number of EWS 66s. I have no idea if 66203 is still abroad or back in the UK, or if it still retains its ever-so-slightly, marginally different but for all intents and purposes EWS, livery.

    90 Mayhem! Northampton should be full of freight when you go. you may even have to make it a 2 part!

    • @Tornado922
      @Tornado922  8 лет назад

      There was so much freight passing through in that short space of time it was brilliant. Northampton was great but I only filmed the one part
