The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via CBS All Access, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. Rachel was born to play Mrs. Maisel. She nails every aspect of the role. I'm not surprised that Colbert thought the character is a real person.
She is just a great actress!

She is an amazing actress. Her real personality is so far from Mrs Maisel. The way she talks, moves and everything. Feels like I'm not looking at the same person.

Love the show, I grew up in just outside of New York during that time and it brings back so many memories of that time. Show is well written and well acted. Hope it has a long run.
the show may not sound interesting, but trust me the writing, directing and acting are AMAZING. if you loved the show Monk .. than ure gonna love Tony Shalhoub in this acting as her father.

well a show about a starting comedian in the 50's doesnt sound that much interesting to me atleast (when i first heard her talk about it a month ago). i gave it a chance cuz it was highly recommended by a media site i was following on fb- i just wanted to do the same for everyone watching this interview ;)
I've told people, "just watch the first 5 minutes, you'll be hooked."
Everyone I know watched the first five min and then completed the season within the week.
There are amazing hour long dramas out there, but it's nice to have a show you can turn to and just escape. This is definitely one of those shows. Beautiful costumes, amazing writing, incredible performances, fun soundtrack. Just an all around good time.

I came to this show quite by accident. I hadn't even heard of it, but I was hooked after just one episode and that never happens for me. Rachel's Midge is the best lead performance in any show right now. From the writing to the directing to the acting, it's a perfectly crafted show.
The fact that she said she's terrified of doing real standup is amazing...I mean the way she plays her role, I actually thought she was a real comedian. Bravo Rachel !!!
Rachel is so talented! I'm so glad her career is taking off, this show seems really funny.
My wife and I raised two wonderful daughters and in their younger years I quickly learned to love Amy Sherman Paladino's writing with the Gilmore Girls (they were both die hard fans so we watched it a lot). I was home sick for a few days when this new show was first released and when I found out Amy had written it I sat and binged the whole thing (something I never do) and loved every minute of it. This young lady Rachel is fantastic in this show (and the same age as my daughters) and I loved her performance in this. While I really don't give a damn about "awards shows" I'm glad it did well.
I love Colbert. I really do. But it's so obvious when he interviews when he has never seen or researched the projects his guests are there promoting. He's a MUCH better interviewer when it comes to political work or entertainment projects he's seen. I feel that that's why many in the entertainment business choose one of the Jimmys to help promote their work. Just an observation. I still prefer to watch Colbert over Fallon.
Yes this wasn't his best interview. 1. Assuming that Mrs. Maisel was a real person: he might as well have hit her with a giant sign that read "I haven't watched the show and did not prepare". 2. Asking if she would've liked to have lived in the 50s. Really? You are asking a woman that? Maybe the inequalities of today aren't enough for her who knows?

Just saw her show. she's got it all folks. this show is refreshing witty and inspiring. and extremely depressing knowing that you may never have a girl like that.

Oh the clothes she wears on the show! Spectacular!
The show has vitality and all the cast are show stoppers. I especially love Mrs Maisel’s manager on the show. Hysterical one liners, an authentic character. She gives such an endearing performance every moment. Abe is wonderful as Maisel’s father and the character of her mother who is just too cool as well. I especially adored the Lenny Bruce character who sang and did his alone spiel in the 10th episode of the second season. Quite a talent there... and Mrs. Maisel or Rachel Brosnahan is an up and coming star. No doubt about it. I want more, a third season.
I hesitated to watch Mrs. Maisel because of the name. It sounded like a trite sitcom. Then I saw that it was winning awards. The clincher was realizing
that Rachel was the lead and realizing that she was the woman from House of Cards. She was amazing in that role. And of course she's gorgeous
She reminds me of Evan Rachel Wood so much. They could play as sisters. That same goes to Charlie Hunnam and Travis Fimmel as brothers.

Actually, Brosnahans in the US are descendants of the Irish Brosnans. The name just evolved here in the states. I have Friends named Brosnahan on the West coast who are related to Pierce Brosnan.

This show kicks ass! She is so good in this, she shines as the lead character. No longer playing a supporting character as in Manhattan or House of Cards.

I love how they dress in the show the dresses are gorgeous. Like Rachel said though it would have been more of a mission with a petticoat and corset to battle everyday lol

Her description of the premise of the show was essentially Joan River's biography.
It's based on a few different female comedians like Joan RIvers and Phyllis Diller.
This show is one of the best. No gimmicks like science fiction, or fantasy. It's just good writing, great characters, and the marvelous mrs. Maisel

Kept passing on this show when I was channel surfing on Amazon Prime. Just tonight, I saw that it was created by ASP & DP and so I immediately started watching it and boy did I ever regret not watching it earlier!!! The script, the characters, the comedy (not just her stand up part but with all the characters dialogue, etc) and hey...THE DRESSES, OMG I’ve died and gone I heaven! I love this show!!! Rachel is one of those ethereal beauties like Evan Rachel Wood. 😘

This is my second favorite show running right now. My VERY favorite is the show her husband WAS on until last Wednesday, The Magicians. I cannot believe she's real-life married to Jason Ralph aka the former Quentin Coldwater.
