Why do you feel the need to have that moving camera when you keep forgetting about it and the quality of the video would not be affected in any significant way without it? I hardly notice it moving anyway.
Not an affiliate but when I ran engineering labs I'd just get a spool of precut velcro ties; sure a few are expensive but a roll of 300+ 20cm precut ties somehow becomes very less expensive. After I'd get enough stuff tied up, then when rerouting or changing lab setups we'd just reuse what was out there; so once you hit critical mass on your cables plus a few spares I never needed another roll unless I was expanding services/space. Plus they won't crush or pinch cables either, which is nice.

Hey Ola, I'm commenting in regards to Dave's passing. He passed away at a venue here in my hometown. I just want to let everyone know that the local music scene here has paid tribute with posts about Dave and shared stories *some knew him personally * I did not sadly but man, based on their stories what an incredible guy and a very tragic loss. Just thought I'd let you know his story is being shared and he is missed!
Dave Cohen was a legend in the New England metal scene and did a LOT for Massachusetts metal and guitar repair/luthier. He will be missed! Rest in Power!
Back before music was free. It was a thing to go out the day albums would come out and wait to get your hands on a copy. We used to collect cds and vinyl. Record stores were everywhere with music and merch you didn't have to buy online. It was just different and fun! Going to used record stores like hastings and mom and pop ships was really cool cause u could get like any cd or vinyl for just a few dollars depending on the condition. And theyd usually have guitar tablature books and sheet music to purchase as well!

As an owner of a Staffordshire bullterrier I totally relate to the situation @ 17:00 and onwards. You never do anything on the floor without eager company! Our dogs favorite thing is to disturb daddy when he's playing the drums. Preferably by sticking his nose so close to the kick drum that daddy has to stop playing in order not to knock out poor old doggy on the floor. Grym kanal Ola!
I'm 45, I don't mosh anymore either, but I still go to shows. I Just enjoy it from the balcony, back or bar. Wherever I can see and hear, but not get knocked down. I can't be missing work over a pit accident.

We saw Animals as Leaders July 8th this year. It was remarkable seeing Dave Cohen the guitar tech work.. tuning two guitars at a time. Animals as Leaders changes instruments a lot. He really busy and on point the whole time. Really Tragic what happened.
On the "Furka pass trip" the first thing I thought was "man I want to ride my bike on that road" and low and behold the person in front of you is on a bike. Lucky person.
My dad used to have to drive up the mountain and then down on our trips to Italy to visit our family in Milan when he was stationed in Germany….. this was before they had autobahns going through Switzerland……

Maaan…my standing desk was heavy as hell to carry. I had to take all the pieces out one at a time to get it into my office, with the motor being the heaviest component. The great thing is when you’re working underneath it, you can stand it up so you’re not lying on the floor.

Re: mosh pits and the like, I was 21 when i realised "I'm too old for this". A local venue in Edinburgh, which no longer exists, used to allow stage-diving, and it tended to be semi-organised. Someone in the crowd would put up their hand, and the person on stage would dive towards them, knowing they'd be caught and supported till they got their feet into position to stand. After many successful dives and catches, I put up my hand, caught the person I was looking at, then got hit in the side of the head by a second diver and all three of us crashed to the floor. I don't remember much of the rest of that gig.
Just look at other nationalities going to the chocolate museum and tasting area... I would bet that there are tons of people filling up their spoons and probably even spilling lots of it but the humble Swede takes a tiny sip and is just happy about it. Gotta love that!
Google says 9 all time deaths as a result of mosh pits . That’s a lot lower than I thought. Pantera pits looked deadly in the 90’s . But I always thought small hardcore shows were the worst by far . 25 ta life , crown of thorns and madball was a full on gang fight . I was a kid and was genuinely scared . But no cell phones so I had to tough it out and it was super violent . My mom had no idea where she was dropping me off lol . And No one died at which is a miracle.

Dave Cohen's death is tragic, and so unnecessary. I used to attend metal shows in my home city in Australia through the 90s, and there was always that culture of looking out for people in the pit. Most bands started their show by telling everyone to be mindful of others and if someone falls, everyone nearby should immediately help them to their feet. This hXc BS of beating on people intentionally is a disgrace.

Just overall selfish kids that feel the need to hurt as much people as possible. If you visit some if the most popular hardcore meme pages, they openly advocate destruction of the venue all because they had a "rough day at work" 🤡
Accidents happen. More often during moshpits. Sure, if someone falls, people stop and help them out. But people get hit with elbows or headbutted unintentionally...not much you can do about that. Fall and hit your head...you can die. You can be as mindful as you want. Still a mosh pit.

But if you've been to a counterparts show, or Thy Art is Murder or Fit For An Autopsy, you know there is a bigger likelyhood at those shows to be hit by a foot in the head by some guy doing flips and roundhouse kicks. I'm serious, it's dangerous. (and before the other guy comments again, I've seen Slayer three times.)
The amazing thing about the vacation footage in Switzerland is how much of it looks like Wales, Scotland, and Yorkshire, England, in the UK - just with much better roads 😄

I’m so sick of this. I went to see Spiritbox in Dublin a few weeks ago and the venue was way too oversold. I queued up for two hours before doors just to get to the front with my girlfriend. We were second row and no matter where you stood, you were crushed/stuck in a mosh pit. There were pricks that kept swinging and pushing the pit closer to the stage/to the front of the barrier. I was trying to basically use my body as a shield to stop my girlfriend from being hit but got pulled backwards and took a couple of elbows to the face and had to leave the venue with a concussion and smashed glasses. There were girls and guys half the size of people in the pit who clearly didn’t want to be involved in it that had their phones broken, were slapped around and crushed without being picked up etc. I‘ve been a part of good and bad mosh pits but this was the last straw for me. Security/staff didn’t care and neither did the assholes in the pit. It’s annoying because I was having such a terrible year and Spiritbox was the one day I was looking forward to since they were my favourite band. Now I don’t want to stand at concerts anymore.

On the Napster thing Ola, I was 16 when that was happening, and I remember watching Lars testify in front of Congress and making his case as only he could, unfortunately no other musicians that supported him back then did the same thing. I'm still old-school and I always will be Ola, I've always bought albums from the record store in my local city, as a musician it's a matter of principle and respect for me. If you love the band's you listen to, then you go buy there album, that's just my old-school mindset man. The internet will never depict how I make decisions, then again, I live in Wisconsin, and I have every kinda store I need for anything in my local city, except a good music store that sells good gear that isn't overpriced, so I use musiciansfriend and reverb. The Ola builds stuff section of this was the best... that desk seems to have been a real replacement of the previous desk. Don't forget that the cameras will shake as you raise or lower the desk.
Yeah. I was in my early 20s in the 2000s. I didn't use Napster but I used lime wire. But yeah I always preferred buying a hard copy. I like having the case and the album art work. There was one section while he was building the desk that sounded devin townswnd-ish. Kinda

There were girls and guys half the size of people in the pit who clearly didn’t want to be involved in it that had their phones broken, were slapped around and crushed without being picked up etc. I‘ve been a part of good and bad mosh pits but this was the last straw for me. Security/staff didn’t care and neither did the assholes in the pit. It’s annoying because I was having such a terrible year and Spiritbox was the one day I was looking forward to since they were my favourite band. Now I don’t want to stand at concerts anymore.

On the Napster thing Ola, I was 16 when that was happening, and I remember watching Lars testify in front of Congress and making his case as only he could, unfortunately no other musicians that supported him back then did the same thing. I'm still old-school and I always will be Ola, I've always bought albums from the record store in my local city, as a musician it's a matter of principle and respect for me. If you love the band's you listen to, then you go buy there album, that's just my old-school mindset man. The internet will never depict how I make decisions, then again, I live in Wisconsin, and I have every kinda store I need for anything in my local city, except a good music store that sells good gear that isn't overpriced, so I use musiciansfriend and reverb. The Ola builds stuff section of this was the best... that desk seems to have been a real replacement of the previous desk. Don't forget that the cameras will shake as you raise or lower the desk.
