In 96 I managed to mosh my way to the front of the megadeth crowd. Dave said “this next song is about f’ed up relationships.” I was so charged up all I wanted was take no prisoners, so I kept screaming it over and over. He looked at me and said “take no prisoners isn’t about F’ed up relationships you f’in a$$hole.” I couldn’t have been more proud of myself.
Lol. To be fair, they have their setlists made in advance. I doubt he could play it on command. Unless it was suppose to play later in the set, but still…
Take no prisoners is definitely not about fucked up relationships hahahah that's a hilarious story though.. what did they play next? In my darkest hour?
The trailer for the premiere is a cool addition. You never disappoint Ola. Always putting so much effort into all that you do and constantly stepping up your game. Very inspiring. I always greatly look forward to, and enjoy your content. 🤘
I've never liked Megadeth and Mustaine has always seemed like a total ass. I find it hilarious that virtually every article about him mentions him being kicked out of Metallica. I hope it grinds his gears.
Same Ola, that bridge riff for This Love has always been a riff that I love. When I listen to the song and it builds to that riff, I'm 18 again losing my shit.
The Mouth For War verse riff is definitely up there for me, but #1 is the little breakcaround a minute into Primal Concrete Sledge. So many great Dimebag riffs, though
22:11 Man, I felt that way for a little while during my guitar-playing journey, but have come around full circle. Playing guitar is like meditation for me nowadays; I embrace the excitement and joy of going deep within and engaging in creative expression just for the sake of doing it no matter the circumstance. I like to approach playing with the mindset of playing and feeling my guitar with all my mind, body, and soul and letting go. At least that seems to always bring that spark of inspiration to me. All of this to say: Ola, you still play guitar like you have that same kind of fire and excitement! You absolutely deserve to feel that excitement and I hope you discover it again sooner than later! I can't wait to listen to #TheChugProject. #theinfinitecalling
Seriously Ola! You write the best riffs! Even your “shitty” riffs sound great! I’m a big Scott Ian fan and you are in that same category of guitarist who write riffs that are heavy, catchy and take the listener somewhere!
23 years since Reinventing The Steel was released?? It's still a new release in my mind. I can envision the CDs on the end caps in Best Buy like it was yesterday. Take me back to 2000...life was better then.
Revolution Is my Name was in Total Guitar when it came out all tabbed out and being a fan and learning guitar at the time it was something I jumped on...so many riffs and that crazy intro!
I totally get what u mean Ola with getting older and music not effecting me like it used to, I’m another one that had there mind blown with Pantera, good times bro. 🤘🏽👊🏽
honestly, about a year ago. i was still hesitant on picking up guitar until i relistened to that break down in domination. it is such a core memory to me. hearing that and just remembering myself when i was younger wishing i had long hair to head bang with. That solo as well is just so nice. that is still my favorite pantera song next to 5 minutes alone
Two things: A) I think a cool idea for all the guitars that you unveil on show, you should sign the back of the headstock before sending them back and a random lucky person will get it. Unless of course you keep them. Just a random idea. B) Favorite Pantera riff - I'm Broken - When I was in middle school back in the 90s I used to race BMX and I remember having one of those riding videos that just shows a ton of pro BMX riders racing and stuff. I hit play on the video and that was the first riff on the video itself. I was immediately blown away and remember sitting there with a blank look on my face and thinking "I don't know what the hell this is but I think I just found my favorite band." Still my all time favorite band to this day!!
As soon as you said something about an overlooked song on RTS I immediately thought of "it makes the disappear". I've always thought that was arguably their heaviest song
I believe my favorite singular pantera riff is the 5 minutes alone alternate riff he uses and the end of a song that's just a bit heavier than the riff in the rest of the song
A good trick for singing and playing at the same time is I record it first and then hear it in your head as you play. As for my favorite Dimebag riff, it's gotta be the post solo one.
Need to hear you cover It Makes Them Disappear, Ola!! I was so stoked hearing you mention it as a sleeper on the album.. it’s easily a top 10 song for me 😎
Oh man, there's two riffs from the CFH album that I think are so groovy and underrated: the intro to The Art of Shredding and the section after the solo in Heresy. It's basically impossible for me to listen to those without headbanging. Getcha pull!
@@michaellorenz7177 yea, I was between the two, it's always a toss for me. The riff by itself in the breakdown is very enjoyable to play, but I like the bass line from the intro better, so it wins me over.
Lol, that's ironic, I'm a bass player, and that breakdown riff is what wins me over. Love the intro, but when Dime and Rex are chugging together... ooh man, hits harder than an alcoholic stepdad.
I didn’t know It makes them Disappear was a hidden gem , it was one of my favorites along with GD electric Regular People is a great riff, but I always liked the verse riff in By Demons Be Driven Vulgar Display of Power is full of inspiring riffs!
I can't WAIT to get the Chug Project! It's Trey X's worst nightmare, and I'm going to love every minute of this album. All hail "The Riff"!! 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻 Oddly enough, Ola's most dispised riffs are the ones that I very much enjoy, probably because I can understand and identify with their 'simplicity'. 😆
My favorite Dime lick is definitely “Right on the Edge” from the I Am The Night album. It’s still just as brutal today as it was when I was a kid learning to play guitar.
HAPPY SWOLA!!!!! Thanks for the chugs and fun every Sunday! When I was younger I used to play Quake Arena on my Dreamcast and PUMP "Reinventing The Steel" I loved "Death Rattle" breakdown. Also HaVoK is a KILLER BAND!! If you like Thrash Metal go check them out now! All of their stuff is amazing. Pete Webber is a KILLER drummer! I gotta go see them this summah in Boston! Have a WONDERFUL SUNDAY EVERYONE!
It happened exactly the same to me with that "This Love" post chorus riff man!!, I spent hours practicing.....first time I listened this riff in a casette I was like an hour playing back and re-listenning those 30 secs!!😁
Ya, I agree on dime riffs I love to many but that one is something when I was younger that was stuck in my head I'd walk around school playing it with my mouth lol and thanks again Ola picking my question. Also, I love alot of riffs of power metal album to haha
Virginia Tech uses Enter Sandman as their entrance song. I'm not a Tech fan (GO BLUE!), but watching the football team come on the field with that song gives me the fizz.
for me it was the main riff in shedding skins that got me hooked up to Pantera and metal in general for the first time when I was around 11 or 12 years old, 30 years later, still the same
Favorite Pantera riff, easy… the double stop breakdown in Primal Concrete Sledge. still to this day I hear that and want to immediately pick up a guitar.
I don't really watch guitar yt anymore but it's always worth to click your videos just for the intro jam. Your riffing has really evolved in recent year or two and I humbly believe it's time for a new album.

SWOLA! Preorder the CHUG Project from www.olaenglund.com/chug
haha yep
Europe is saving daylight in order to feed Sweden with more sunlight! So the sun you get in the summer is from Europeans.
CHUG baby hehe
🤘🤘
My favorite Dime riff is the bridge in "Primal Concrete Sledge"
The Pantera riff that I always think of when speaking of the band is totally the intro/chorus to "I'm Broken".
The trailer for the premiere is a cool addition. You never disappoint Ola. Always putting so much effort into all that you do and constantly stepping up your game. Very inspiring. I always greatly look forward to, and enjoy your content. 🤘
The Chug Project sounds like it rocks and love the heavy tones it's going to be the $ht!!!
Intro song is one of my favorites you've done. And I still am in love with the new carve top.
Mustaine is so humble
"Who ate all the (humble) pies? Dave Mustaine."
Mustaine is the most humble guy he knows, just ask him.
I've never liked Megadeth and Mustaine has always seemed like a total ass. I find it hilarious that virtually every article about him mentions him being kicked out of Metallica. I hope it grinds his gears.
Humble like Trump is humble 😂
Like or hate him. He's not wrong. Just try to do what he does it fucking hard.
The ending to Floods has to be my favorite I think, just a killer vibe to end the song 🤘
Very stoked about the Chug Project. As an adult I still get excited about new (or just new to me) music!!
Mustaine is that uncle that never got over playing high school foot ball.
Lol!
"Back in '82, I used to be able to throw a pig skin a quarter mile."
I hear he once scored four touch downs in one game.
Uncle Rico! 😂
@@leagueofotters2774 Polk High?
Yes dude! Celebrating the riff!!!!
Can't wait for the chug project!! Love the artwork!!!
Saw Megadeth in Melbourne Wednesday night, Mustaine is a beast on the axe
Nice bit of Drop A# L.I.K. tribute in the first few bars of the opening riff.
🤘🤘

Another swola in the books. Thanks Ola for bringing joy to my early Sundays!🤘🏻
Seriously Ola! You write the best riffs! Even your “shitty” riffs sound great! I’m a big Scott Ian fan and you are in that same category of guitarist who write riffs that are heavy, catchy and take the listener somewhere!
Scott Ian has a great right hand, but the majority of Anthrax’s stuff was written Charlie believe it or not.
Chug project sounds amazing!🖤
That was the Dime riff I was hoping Ola would play!! I struggled forever to figure that out.
That’s my favorite song of Reinventing too! 🤘 it was my go to on the jukebox
Cant wait for the Chug Project to drop \,,/
6:02 🤣 Did not expected tha face! 🤣🤣🤣 It's great seeing people being themselves and having fun!
I totally get what u mean Ola with getting older and music not effecting me like it used to, I’m another one that had there mind blown with Pantera, good times bro. 🤘🏽👊🏽
The mosh riff in Mouth For War is probably my favorite. That song as a whole is so badass.
Yes , yes it is !
yesssssss
Intro had a cool damage plan tone to it, very nice 👌🕺
Ola's impression of Mustaine never gets old, always look forward to it when Megadeth is in the news, cracks me up every time.

"You deserve my shit riffs". Thanks Ola, I love you too!
Still sounded kick ass, for what it's worth. \m/
That bridge tiff you played from This Love was the first one I thought of too. Such a great riff. Well played, Ola.
As always, killer job my man. Have a great week. See ya next Sunday!!🤘🏻
I love waking up on Sunday to have coffee with Ola on SWOLA. This was a good one.

That opening riff is so crushing!!!
I like the opening riff/song - it has a great Carcass vibe 🤘🔥🎸
Thanks for the video. Very entertaining and I'm really enjoying your channel. Cheers
Got to agree with that riff, I love the way the drums sync with it.
Yes! That Dimebag riff was also used in Will To Survive demo song on the remastered Cowboys From Hell album and it’s my favorite as well!
The riff album sounds really good! Really looking forward for it to come out!
As soon as you said something about an overlooked song on RTS I immediately thought of "it makes the disappear". I've always thought that was arguably their heaviest song
man these makes me feel so damn good afterwards. thanks for putting them out ola, it's always an half an hour well spent
mustaine never misses an opportunity to talk about his favorite band metallica
I am so excited for the Chug Project!!

Honorable mention for that middle riff in TAoS. Such a killer riff, for something short and not really related to the rest of the song.
@@michaellorenz7177 yea, I was between the two, it's always a toss for me. The riff by itself in the breakdown is very enjoyable to play, but I like the bass line from the intro better, so it wins me over.

this is the art.... TO SHRED
CFH is a riff gold mine. Message in Blood, Psycho Holiday, Clash with Reality, Shattered, all killer.
Reinventing the Steel is in the top 2 of their best albums. Uplift, grind that axe.. 🤘🏼 😊
BS!! I loved the intro Riff!! One of my favorites so far. KEEP GOING!!
My favorite dime riffs happened to be exactly the two ola picked, in the same order.
I didn’t know It makes them Disappear was a hidden gem , it was one of my favorites along with GD electric
Regular People is a great riff, but I always liked the verse riff in By Demons Be Driven
Vulgar Display of Power is full of inspiring riffs!
Hands down , my Favorite Riff is the beginning of " Im Broken " But the beginning of Cowboys is a close second .
Ola, saw Vader last night and one of them was playing a solar guitar and it sounded so brutal.
My favourite Pantera riffs are A new level and slaughtered, pure groove! Thats what its all about for me
I can't WAIT to get the Chug Project! It's Trey X's worst nightmare, and I'm going to love every minute of this album. All hail "The Riff"!! 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
Oddly enough, Ola's most dispised riffs are the ones that I very much enjoy, probably because I can understand and identify with their 'simplicity'. 😆
Congrats on the new vinyl plant! It's so hard to get all heavy music nuances from LP. I literally have a collection of $hitty metal vinyls
My favorite Dime lick is definitely “Right on the Edge” from the I Am The Night album. It’s still just as brutal today as it was when I was a kid learning to play guitar.

I was having a little somewhat bleak Sunday, but PERKELE JÄKEL - I am smiling now and my long hair is also shining more!
I await the chug album with anticipation.
The descending chromatic riff from "We'll Grind That Axe for a Long Time". Basically the whole song because I think in 7/8 time.
this SWOLA has some of the best Swenglish we've got in a long time.
My favorite was the intro of “this love” and obviously the riff following when it’s getting heavy 😈
Just pre-ordered the Chug Project cd!
It happened exactly the same to me with that "This Love" post chorus riff man!!, I spent hours practicing.....first time I listened this riff in a casette I was like an hour playing back and re-listenning those 30 secs!!😁
The breakdown from This Love is probably my favorite Dime riff. I also love the live outro for Walk from 101 Proof. That shit is brutal AF.
Good morning Ola . Love that guitar man. Really wanna get me that fiddle.
I liked the last riff. Chug life, baby.
Love non edited videos! 🤘
Nice, LIK - Celebration Of The Twisted as the intro riff =)
20:54 reminded me a section from COB's medley "Bodom After Midnight / Bodom Beach Terror" from Chaos Ridden Years (4.37).
I'm 43 and still get excited for discovering new music!!!! You need to work on that Ola!!!!!!
So many great Dime riffs, but I can’t help that CFH is my fav. When you hear that opening line, it’s on immediately!! 🤘
just went to Knotfest tour here in Australia and Megadeth kicked ass 🤘
It's good to be here after the unfortunate events of the last few days. The intro riff was fun and brutal.🤘🏿😎 Getcha Pull 🥃-CHEERS 🍻
Love the main riff from Drag the Waters.
Picking my fav Pantera riff is hard, but I always loved the intro riff of Revolution is my name. It just slaps so hard.
Those last chugs were sick though!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Think my favorite pantera riff/song is primal concrete sledge. I just love the groove!
answering to the member question, my favorite Pantera riffs are probably the intro for The Art of Shredding or the breakdown in Primal Concrete Sledge
for me it was the main riff in shedding skins that got me hooked up to Pantera and metal in general for the first time when I was around 11 or 12 years old, 30 years later, still the same
Hey Ola, love the channel, love SWOLA, also love that neon green cable you're using. Do you have a link or info you can share?
Favorite Pantera riff, easy… the double stop breakdown in Primal Concrete Sledge. still to this day I hear that and want to immediately pick up a guitar.
My favorite Pantera riff is the opening riff in Slaughtered
New vinyl sounds freaking great
That riff from This Love is my favorite Dime riff too!
Reinventing the Steel is very underrated. My 2nd favourite Pantera album.
Sound of Chug Project....Rock....
my fave dimeback lick is from becoming the intro so good
The gibson les paul jr is pretty much my dream guitar...I want to get a vintage one someday
I don't really watch guitar yt anymore but it's always worth to click your videos just for the intro jam. Your riffing has really evolved in recent year or two and I humbly believe it's time for a new album.
The intro tone on the guitar Sounds a lot like Carcass. Thats awesome.
Nice work Ola, the Chug Project sounds awesome🤘
Loved the intro 🤘
