  • These are my favorite sounds on the BOSS SY-1000. This synthesizer guitar pedal will release on February 1st for $1,000. Some people found my video of EVERY SINGLE SOUND on the Boss sy-1000 too long so I cut the video length in half and showed only my favorite patches. If you want to watch the full video with every single patch you can watch that here.

    EVERY SOUND on this pedal: • BOSS SY 1000 ALL SOUND...
    Song at the end of the video: • Alternative Rock Elect...
    Infinite Sonic Possibilities Await
    The BOSS SY-1000 synthesizer pedal for guitar and bass represents the pinnacle of BOSS and Roland's guitar synth technology, refined over decades of player feedback. Three distinct synthesizer instrument engines can be played simultaneously for exceptionally deep and rich sonic textures. You can plug your guitar or bass directly via 1/4" cable just like any other effects pedal, or you can use Roland's GK pickup for the most precise pitch tracking and per-string parameter tweaking. Factor in its built-in effects loop, multi-effects capabilities, instrument modeling, external control inputs, and freely assignable footswitches, and it's clear the BOSS SY-1000 is the most advanced synthesizer pedal ever devised.
    With its updated sound engine, driven by custom DSP and featuring 32-bit/48kHz sound quality, the BOSS SY-1000 is the best-sounding BOSS guitar synth to date. You'll also notice that the tracking is ultra-precise, with no latency to distract you from your performance. And with the ability to dial in three simultaneous instruments, from synth leads and pads to bass and more, you've got a ton of creative potential right at your feet.
    Ready to adapt to your preferences
    Whether you normally plug straight into your amplifier, multiple amps, or go direct, the BOSS SY-1000 synthesizer pedal is ready to adapt to your style. Its footswitches are freely configurable, so you can put your most-needed functions right at your toes. And the outputs are freely assignable too, making it easy to split up your signal path however you like. You could send the synth sounds to a separate amplifier, for example, or record your guitar and the synth sounds on separate tracks in your DAW. You even have a send/return effects loop built right into the SY-1000, allowing you to add your favorite effects pedals to the mix.
    Create hybrid guitar and bass tones
    By connecting your guitar or bass to the SY-1000 with both your GK pickup (sold separately) and your instrument's 1/4" output, you can combine your instrument and synth tones to create an endless array of sonic textures. Add a saw-wave lead synth sound to your guitar to take your solos to new heights. Add pads to your bass tone to create extra octaves of sonic interest. With the ability to dial in three simultaneous instruments, the various tonal combinations you can craft are practically endless.
    Dynamic Synth engine makes guitar-synth more expressive than ever
    We're no strangers to BOSS guitar synth technology here at Sweetwater, and we're mighty impressed with the Dynamic Synth in the SY-1000. For the best results, connect your instrument to the SY-1000 via your GK pickup as well as your 1/4" instrument output. The GK pickup will give you ultra-precise pitch tracking for the synth sounds, while your 1/4" output will inform the synth's envelope shape and how it responds. In other words, Dynamic Synth follows the natural volume envelope of your instrument, further fusing your synth sounds with your playing style.

    Thanks for the demo; I didn’t care for many of the sounds I heard in other demos, but many of the sounds were musically useful and surprisingly lush here.

      @GearSounds  4 года назад +2

      You're very welcome and I'm glad you appreciated some of the musically useful sounds. You also have to remember this was edited down from an hour or so over half of the sounds that I found were not musically useful. That being said I bet you can get even more use out of this if you tweet the sound yourself on your computer which I'm going to do when it releases

      Yes, as I mentioned in the first portion of the video ALL of these sounds require and use the GK pickup. I should have made that more clear as you are the second person to ask this. I'm glad you enjoyed the demo : ). There is another demo with my favorite sounds right here if you're interested in a video that is just 30 minutes long instead of an hour! ruclips.net/video/mFDkzMzhL70/видео.html

    Good demo. Thanks. Gives me an idea of the sounds now and frankly most of them I wouldn't use at all. I personally think removing the PCM sounds was a mistake. I used to enjoy using those on my GR-55 though some of them had huge latency. I actually regret selling the GR-55 now. With the supposedly better tracking on the SY-1000, the PCM sounds should have been retained by Boss. That's what is stopping me from buying the SY-1000. Not sure why they couldn't have made an All-in-one Guitar synth with the PCM sounds. Since I don't play live, the Fishman Triple Play would probably be better for my purposes.

    • @GearSounds
      @GearSounds  4 года назад

      They didn't remove the PCM sounds. The SY 300 never had PCM sounds. If you want PCM sounds the product you are looking for is the next version of the GR-55 which will likely release later on. Because it was only the older crowd that liked the PCM sounds that is probably why it sold horribly and the SY-1000 is sold out everywhere. PCM synthesis would require a different processor as it works differently. So they can't include it in this product without inflating the already expensive price. I haven't heard of the fishman triple play but I'm going to look it up. I'm glad you enjoyed the demo!

    • @prashbez

      @@GearSounds Hope the next version of the GR-55 comes soon. I had one earlier but sold it in a state of momentary gear removal syndrome. :D On its own the SY 1000 is definitely interesting but doesn't suit me for sure. Fishman Triple Play is a wireless USB device so a different unit altogether from the SY 1000.

    • @GearSounds
      @GearSounds  4 года назад +1

      That should be the next thing to release, however it didn't sell very well. The SY-1000 however is sold out everywhere. I saw the fishman triple play, horrible reviews and it didn't sound that great. It also needed an ipad in order to use it which is a huge disappointment.

    How does this compare to a vg

    • @GearSounds
      @GearSounds  4 месяца назад

      1. That depends on if you want guitar sounds or not. If you don't, the GM 800 exceeds the capability of this SY1000.
      2. The GM 800 does the best guitar synthesizer in the world.
      3. In a close second place would be the SY1000 but only because of its guitar functionality.

    What do you think has better tracking/latency, this SY-1000 or the MIDI Guitar 2 software from Jam? In otherwords what's the best latency/tracking out today?

    • @GearSounds
      @GearSounds  4 года назад

      The SY 1000 has the best tracking on the market today. It was able to keep up with my speed all the way up until I tried shredding at a very fast speed. A speed that I don't ever play at.
